Chapter 30: 30
Greetings, Scoutmaster!"
At the echoing greeting, Juny's eye almost twitched.
'I thought I'm already used to this... haah~'
Even through her hidden displeasure, Juny's nodded.
"Greetings, take your seats."
Those around the large circular table stopped saluting, sitting down.
Juny held back her sigh, looking around.
It's been over half a year since the destruction of the Rosary Road.
It made Juny happy, since she didn't need to think of that embarrassing name anymore.
'Ah, I just thought about it...'
Anyway...
Quite a lot has changed since then.
This day was January 2nd of the new year, 1350.
The biggest change occurred with the siblings.
Ellone left the Feynapotter Kingdom with Tarkel in early Fall.
They went to Conant city before making their way into Backlund.
Tarkel advanced to Sequence 7, Solar High Priest, a month ago, while Ellone's been a Potion Professor for at least half a year.
Dager also changed his position.
Just like Kein has the subtitle Librarian, Dager took on the subtitle of a Crew Captain.
As one would expect after he did so, he too left the Feynapotter Kingdom.
It was sometime in August when he made a pirate crew and left Desi Bay for Berserk Sea.
Dager actually managed to advance, even though he was not a very good Conspirer.
It's been 1 month since he became Sequence 5 Reaper, after besting Bulatov Ioan, the Vice Admiral Dusk.
He, thus, took his place in ranks and became the Vice Admiral Celestial Flame.
He even received a bounty of 25 000 pounds or 300 000 risot.
Which made Ellone very interested in killing him.
Valler has been a Seafearer for at least 4 months.
He became the First Mate and his bounty is around 12 000 pounds or 144 000 risot.
Brielle, a Sequence 7 Harvest Priest, became the crew's Second Mate and the Navigator.
The name was actually discussed quite seriously, too seriously for Juny's own comfort.
In the end, Juny had to put a stop to it, because names like: Celestial Flames or The Nova Tide, kept appearing.
Juny would be just too embarrassed, knowing she was in the same organization as 'The Flaming Nebula' pirates.
'At least the final verdict wasn't too unsettling. Although, we could probably do better than Supernova Pirates...'
Juny shook her head, trying to get back on track.
Shake and Kein are still in the Inizio city.
Shake became a Sequence 6 Barron of Corruption about four months ago.
Kein also Advanced to a Sequence 6 Polymath quite recently.
Darmine herself is a Sequence 6 Hypnotist while the wolf Kalim is a Sequence 7 Nightmare.
Also, the large brown owl, Aeron, was chosen by Darmine as the third in charge in the Scout Patrol, making him a member of the Troop Meeting.
The Scout Patrol branched out into two.
Daimira and Aeron followed Ellone into the Loen Kingdom, but they didn't go all the way to Backlund.
Kalim and the rest of the Scout Patrol stayed in the Feynapotter city.
Degster became a Sequence 6 Judge, Natia Advanced to a Harvest Priest and Mariel became a Magician.
Airina also Advanced to a Sequence 6 Scribe.
She traveled all over the Feynapotter Kingdom for family coal business, but also to fulfill her Scribe Acting.
She also widened her connections, adding a new member as her Assistant Troop Guide.
Her name was Roselyn, an 18 year old lady from a high-end family.
She had short brown hair put up into a styled bob and brown eyes.
She wore flattering yellow dress with golden embroidery and puffed sleeves.
Roselyn joined by pure coincidence and became a Sequence 9 Monster around 2 months ago.
She was also now part of the Troop Meeting.
The style of her chair was similar to Airina's, but the sub-color was dark gold.
Above the headrest was a shining, white symbol featuring two snakes twisting into infinity signs.
The heads of the snakes were trying to eat the tail of the other snake.
Daimira became a Sequence 5 Scarlet Scholar without much hindrance around 2 months ago.
Lancer is a Sequence 7 Warlock and Villia has been a Sequence 6 Potion Professor for 6 months now.
Gen also Advanced and became a Sequence 7 Vampire 3 months ago.
Jenica became a Sequence 6 Artisan last week and she also got an Assistant Leader for her Patrol.
Her name was Tessa, she's a 19 year old lady with quite a bright personality.
She had choppy black hair tucked in a stylish bandana with lace and silver lining.
Her eyes had bright hazel color.
She wore a sleeveless tunic over a light shirt with sturdy pants and a utility belt.
She joined 3 months ago and that's also when she became a Sequence 9 Marauder.
Her chair was rather simple with no armrests and dark-blue sub-color.
Above her head was a light symbol of a swirl surrounded by four differently timed clocks.
Juny's eyes moved away from Jenica and stopped on the previously empty seat next to her.
The chair was thin with high back into a sharp point.
The seat had small cushions on the seat and the lower back.
It followed the galaxy style with deep Indigo sub-color.
Right below the highest point was a bright symbol with purple highlights.
The symbol showed a vertical eye with sharp eyelashes and a lower half-circle.
On it sat an older but astonishingly elegant woman.
The woman had soft curly hair just below her shoulders with eyes of a curious color.
It was a mix of deep blue and wine-red, blending in the middle to create dark indigo color.
She wore dark, tightly-fitted black dress with an obvious cut down the middle and feathered motif.
Behind her sat two men with a purple symbol on their seat's backs.
It was a bandaged hand reaching upward with two spikes threatening to pierce it from the sides.
The older looking man had long white hair, even though he couldn't be older than 30.
His eyes were gray and hazed.
He wore a long, entirely black cape which covered his entire body.
The other man had messy dark-brown hair and very pale complexion.
He had bloodshot eyes filled with bloodlust and his irises were almost white with a blue tint.
It was Madam Petrison and her two 'assistants', Rich and Dever.
During this time, Madam Petrison became a Sequence 6 Faceless while Dever Advanced to a Sequence 6 Zombie.
They've actually joined even before the actual operation against the Rosary Road.
Madam Petrison's reaction when seeing Juny's actual body was her jaw dropping.
Which might not seem like much, but Madam Petrison was once a Clown, so her losing control over her expression was a sign of extreme bafflement.
Juny looked to her left.
Ellone sat there, her fists were clenched with blood trickling down her skin, torn by her nails.
Juny's eyes softened, holding back a sigh.
"Senior Assistant Scoutmaster, do you have something to report?"
She asked, but Juny already knew.
Ellone informed her immediately this Tuesday and Juny went over to help.
Ellone gritted her teeth, but relaxed her hands.
"Yes, Scoutmaster."
She took a deep breath before her face turned serious.
"This Tuesday, December 28th, a deadly yellow cloud of pollution spread all over Backlund's East Borough, the dock area and the factory district. I- It was deadly, people who came into contact with it fell down almost immediately, l- like falling trees."
Ellone stuttered.
It was unknown if it was anger, fear or sadness which made her voice shake, but noone dared to interrupt.
Ellone lightly shook her head.
"I'm not sure about the exact numbers, but at least 20 000 people died immediately and the after effect is still spreading in the form of a plague. I can't even guess how many more will die."
Shake hummed, being the first one to speak.
"What was the cause? How did the Churches react? There's no way they'd let it happen."
Ellone nodded, turning to look at Juny.
When Ellone called Juny, the plague was still very much spreading.
She herself was too busy trying to keep dying children alive to worry about the cause, that was Juny's reason for coming over.
Juny nodded, leaning back.
"There are four things to take note of."
As she spoke, she lifted her hand to show four fingers.
Then she folded her pinky.
"One. The smog was caused by a Beyonder, as one would expect. I sensed a Sequence 5 Demoness of Affliction. I did some research and the Advancement ritual for a Demoness of Despair is to cause a severe plague which involves at least 30 000 people. It's highly plausible, no, she was for sure behind the smog and the subsequent plague as I felt the spiritual shift of an Advancement."
Hearing this, everyone showed displeased or enraged expressions.
Ellone frowned, biting her lip.
Juny held back a sigh, folding her ring finger.
"Two. As soon as the Church of the Lord of Storms took notice of it, they did take action. But it's obvious that they didn't expect it previously. They created a hurricane to blow away the polluted smoke before it reached the rest of the city."
Before Dager could make a snarky remark about the Church, Juny continued.
She folded her middle finger.
"Three. Someone else intervened at the end to kill the Demoness of Despair. I'm can't tell anything about who it was or how they did it, but the Demoness is nowhere to be found, not even a single trace."
Having finished saying that, Juny folded her last finger and leaned forward.
"And lastly, the dead souls disappeared."
"Huh?"
Dager tilted his head, not sure if he wasn't missing something.
"Like, immediately?"
Jenica spoke up before Juny could.
"Didn't they just disperse?"
Juny shook her head, twirling her hair around her finger.
"No, they disappeared. As in went to a different place. You might call it teleportation if you want, but they disappeared nonetheless."
After being quiet the entire time, Daimira asked.
"Why would that happen? Is that also necessary for a Demoness's Advancement?"
Juny shook her head and folded her arms.
"No. The Advancement doesn't consume the souls, it just requires death. The souls were taken by someone. I don't know exactly who and why, but I do know where. And since I know where, it's easy to guess why and subsequently even who."
Degster tapped the table.
"And?"
Juny looked at Ellone who kept her silence.
She then nodded.
"A place not too far, but not too close to the city. A frighteningly large amount of despaired and dead souls gathered there in one place."
She narrowed her eyes, her voice growing colder.
"And there is only one reason for someone to gather so much negativity in one place."
Juny vividly remembered the feeling inside of the underground hall.
It was filled with suffering souls and despair.
So much that you could smell it even if you weren't a Beyonder.
"The descent of an Evil being, a God."
The place went dead silent, bad memories arose in all of those present.
Juny sighed.
"It didn't happen, someone intervened midway so the ritual failed. I don't know anymore than that."
The atmosphere obviously relaxed, but it was still just as tense.
Dager turned to Juny, trying to change the atmosphere.
"Scoutmaster, you're going to Advance soon, yes? Will you require our presence again?"
Juny's lips twitched as she shook her head.
"No, that will not be necessary this time."
The thing about Juny's Advancement was the truth.
Juny's digestion of the Mysterious Caster was extremely fast.
Especially because even way before becoming a Sequence 4, Juny was already hiding her appearance.
Not to mention, noone, not even her closest companions, knew the source of her abilities.
Which made Juny's Potion digest without even the need to do anything.
'Whenever those officials come up with a new strange theory, my Potion digests, it's hilarious!'
She already knew what the Advancement ritual was and there was no need for others to be part of it.
After all, people weren't what the next Potion's name revolved around.
'I've been thinking that there's not much fighting based abilities.'
Juny smiled, her mind wandering.
'I can't wait what it'll do, a Battle Elementalist.'
...
Juny stared at the ceiling, waiting for the time to pass.
'Did five minutes always last this long-?'
Before she could finish the thought, Juny's vision flashed crimson.
After a moment, she found herself surrounded by thick gray fog and sitting in front of a bronze mottled table.
Immediately, Juny saw three members of the Tarot Club siting opposite her.
'Oh? A new member?'
After Miss Justice, Mr. Hanged Man and Mr. Sun joined Mr. World, who Juny is hundred percent sure is not human, and Miss Magician, who Juny suspects to be a friend of Miss Justice.
Although the fog does good job clouding and shielding, the one who manipulates the fog cannot block the vision of a Demigod yet.
'It looks like a Marionette, but that doesn't make sense since Mr. Fool only recently became a Faceless. Though it might be created using a Beyonder characteristic or a Sealed Artifact. It might as well be some kind of special undead, I don't really care.'
During the past months, Juny became actually quite respected.
She was someone with good connections, a lot of information and ingredients to trade.
She was also willing to help and offered good advice.
Although every time a new member joined, Juny felt angry being treated like a useless child all over again.
At least when Miss Magician joined, Juny was already greatly backed and trusted by the rest of the members.
Juny looked over at the newest member.
Her Appraisal activated.
Without needing to take a prolonged look, Juny immediately knew.
'Ah, a Sanguine.'
Juny met plenty of them, so she could spot the difference between Vampires and Sanguine instantly.
Just then, Juny heard Miss Justice's voice, which lacked its usual cheerfulness.
"Good afternoon Mr. Fool. You saved Backlund again!"
Juny tilted her head.
'Hum? Does she mean the smog? He did mention that something was brewing in Backlund, but how did he intervene?'
Juny felt slightly sour.
She didn't think Miss Justice was lying, so Mr. Fool must've done something to destroy the smog.
'Not the Church of the Lord of Storms, Miss Justice wouldn't know about it and Mr. Hanged Man would be the one speaking right now. The Church of the Evernight? Could it have something to do with the disappearance of the Demoness of Despair?'
Just as her mind was confused, she remembered something else.
'Wait, the summoning of the Evil God on that mountain! Could he have been the one who interrupted the ritual? Hm, but could a recently Advanced Sequence 6 do that?'
Juny shook her head inwardly, deciding to listen quietly instead.
After thanking Mr. Fool, Miss Justice turned to the, literally, dead Mr. World.
"... Mr. World, if it wasn't for your advance warning, then perhaps tens of thousands of people would've died in Backlund during this great smog."
"In truth, I was also doing it to save myself."
Mr. World answered with a hoarse laugh.
"..."
Juny had a bad taste in her mouth.
'A warning? ...Why didn't I receive one? If I'd knownjust a few minutes beforehand, I could've stopped it!'
Juny bit her lower lip, but kept her mouth shut.
She knew why she wasn't informed.
She never hid that she wasn't anywhere near Backlund and, all in all, she was a child.
For all they know, she might be a daughter of someone powerful, not someone who has actual strength.
But that didn't make it any less distasteful.
She averted her gaze as Mr. Fool leaned back in his seat.
"All I did was provide some trivial help."
Miss Justice immediately shook her head.
"No, your adorer really helped save Backlund. His contribution is the greatest amongst everyone. His warning allowed the Goddess, the Church of the Evernight Goddess to make preparations, wiping out the Demoness of Despair in a timely manner and preventing the Primordial Demoness from awakening."
Miss Justice continued praising from the bottom of her heart.
"It allowed the contamination of the great smog to be kept under control. Furthermore, he even destroyed the Aurora Order's ritual, preventing the attempted descent of the True Creator once again, keeping him at bay from the real world."
Juny's head whipped to the side immediately.
Her eyes landed on the Seat of Honor.
She knew, she guessed all of the things Miss Justice just said, but Juny was the only one here who knew.
The man sitting at the head of this table was not an awakening God, he was a man.
A man who just recently became a Sequence 6.
This man did it all on his own.
He informed the Church and stopped the ritual on his own.
He might've not actually battled, but that didn't change what he did.
Juny was long dead-set on helping this fellow transmigrator, but she didn't expect him to be this impressive.
Juny would've given him assistance even if he was a miniature needle in a haystack, but she never expected that he'd be someone truly deserving of complete respect.
As someone who also watched a ritual which would help the power of an Evil God to descend, Juny knew better than most.
Interrupting it wasn't just a matter of power, it was all about the mental strength.
No matter how strong one is, in front of a power so much greater than them, they bend.
They bend, fall and shatter.
Juny didn't falter because she had the means to protect herself, but him.
'Does he also have some bonus for Transmigrating? He must, right? There's no other way. No matter how strong his will is, without a backup plan, noone would dare to face such overwhelming pressure alone.'
Juny inwardly nodded before turning away as if nothing happened.
Mr. Fool smiled.
"Unfortunately, he has to stay away from Backlund as a result."
Juny's eye twitched.
'You mean that you are now too suspicious to stay in Backlund, right? I wonder where you're going next. If it's the sea, I'll have to tell Dager to be nice if you two ever get to meet.'
Juny made an inner note as Miss Justice sincerely bowed.
"Please convey my gratitude to him."
She then added.
"I'm very sorry, as the three Churches and the military are cleaning up Backlund, I was unable to get the follow-up pages to Roselle's diary. Please wait one more week."
"Sure."
Mr. Fool answered in a flat tone.
Miss Magisian lightly jumped before hurriedly looking at the end of the table.
"Dear Mr. Fool, I received three pages of Roselle's diary."
Before Mr. Fool could respond, Juny spoke up.
"Mr. Fool, I have four pages with me today."
Mr. Fool gently nodded, pleased.
"Very good. This will be 54 pages, correct?"
He was taking about Juny's credit.
Juny nodded as she looked at the yellowish parchments.
"Yes."
As she was conjuring the four pages, Juny suddenly had a thought and sneaked a peek at the new member.
'Are we really ignoring his existence...?'
She felt slightly bad as the pages left her hands and appeared in Mr. Fool's.
After Mr. Fool had lightly glanced at the pages, he smiled.
"This is a new member, Mr. Moon. As you know, this gathering is called the Tarot Club. They are..."
As he began introducing, Juny felt baffled.
'He forgot, right? Ah, it happens. Although he is the one who added him, it still happens.'
After Mr. Fool finished introducing and greetings were exchanged, the place went silent.
Juny saw the new member suspiciously eyeing her specifically.
Fortunately, this was not Juny's first rodeo.
So, she looked back at him, holding eye contact.
The Sanguine first seemed confident, but after Juny didn't blink or move her pupils for over a minute, his eyes shook.
Seeing that Juny's gaze remained steady and stone cold, he turned away, defeated.
Juny inwardly scoffed.
'You think you can challenge a Saint to a starring contest and win? You're delusional, my little friend.'
Just then, Juny turned to the side to meet Miss Justice.
Seeing Miss Justice curiously looking at her, Juny gave her a warm smile before moving to look down at the bronze table.
After a while, Mr. Fool's shifted in his seat and the pages disappeared.
"You may begin."
Hearing this, Miss Justice immediately looked at Mr. Sun diagonally across from her.
"Have you broken from the cycle?"
Just as she asked that, Mr. Sun turned to Mr. Fool.
"Honorable Mr. Fool, thank you for your guidance. It allowed me to find the key point of the Angel of Fate on the mural with the words 'Rose Redemption'. It aided the Chief in destroying the repeated cycle of fate."
Juny leaned back into the, actually very uncomfortable, bronze chair.
Although she did give light advice, Mr. Sun's expedition into the True Creator's Temple was actually guided mainly by Mr. Hanged Man.
She was quiet as Mr. Sun described the many cycles he'd gone through.
And after a while, the conversation diverted into a talk about the Kings of Angels.
This was one of the many things Juny researched, so her ears perked up.
Mr. Sun recalled the words of his Chief as he spoke.
"He suspected that Amon is the Angel of Time among the Kings of Angels, and the mural depicted the Angel of Fate, Tail Devourer Ouroboros."
Miss Justice seemed excited as she asked.
"Mr. Sun, what are the titles of the other Kings of Angels and their names?"
"The Chief didn't say, nor did I dare to ask..."
Mr. Sun seemed ashamed as he replied.
Immediately, all gazes turned to the Seat of Honor.
Well... all except one.
Juny held her hand to her chin, thinking.
'Hmm, Amon... he's right. That makes Adam the same, right? He was the Angel of Imagination, wasn't he? Then there was the War Angel Medici. I can't be sure, the scrolls were all torn up and most documents aren't fully authentic or reliable.'
As she was thinking, Juny noticed Mr. Fool looking her way.
Although it seemed calm, Juny had a strange inkling.
'D- Does he want me to help? No, but... I'm not fully sure either.'
Juny lowered her hand.
"I have an idea of at least two others, but I can't be sure if the source is completely truthful."
Juny actually knew all the Titles and names, but she was not fully confident in most of them.
All eyes slowly shifted to her and Juny began to feel the pressure for the first time in a while.
Miss Justice was the first one to speak.
"Miss High Priestess, may I ask what they are?"
Juny looked at her and her eyebrow twitched.
'But I really don't need- wait...'
Juny paused and covered her mouth in thought.
She soon nodded.
"Miss Justice, would you like to pay for the information? There is actually something that I'd like to request."
Miss Justice's eyes beamed, but her voice stayed steady
"I am fine with that."
This was the very first time Juny had ever asked for anything during the Tarot Club.
Mainly because she had no need to, but this was not something she could do just because she had Beyonder power.
Before Mr. Hanged Man could even speak of wanting to also pay, Juny spoke to Mr. Fool.
"Honorable Mr. Fool, may I make the exchange in private? It is not something anyone else present can grant, so I do not wish to spread it."
Juny needed to be safe, because she did not trust Mr. Hanged Man to handle this information.
Mr. Fool didn't even flinched as he nodded.
"As you wish."
Just like that, the gray fog grew thicker and everyone's except Mr. Fool's, Miss Justice's and Juny's senses were covered.
Juny sighed out loud before turning to Miss Justice.
"I'll tell you my request first before giving you the information."
Miss Justice nodded, slightly uncomfortable because of Juny's sigh.
Seeing this, Juny lifted her hand.
"Don't worry, my request is not dangerous nor difficult, it's just impossible without a certain status."
Miss Justice tilted her head before cautiously asking.
"May I ask, did you plan on requesting this task of me from the beginning?"
Juny shook her head, her eyes moving to the table.
"No, I'm not one to make requests, I just figured it could save me plenty trouble and make it safer if I'd request it of you."
Miss Justice nodded before straightening in her seat.
Juny looked back up before speaking.
"I need you to go, preferably personally, but sending someone trustworthy is also possible, into a quite small medical facility on a border between East and West Borough. Before I tell you the details, do you think it's possible?"
Juny was very cautious as she looked forward, patiently waiting.
But she didn't have to wait long as Miss Justice replied immediately.
"Yes, that should be quite easy for me to do."
Juny exhaled before nodding with serious expression.
"Very well. The facility is on Dermand Street. It is a tidy place so it should be noticeable. It is run by a young lady with blonde hair and red eyes. If you ever need to refer to her, or if you don't see her, call her Assistant Scoutmaster."
Juny had to point it out otherwise Miss Justice might talk to someone else.
"If you see her, go immediately to her without interacting with anyone else, but if that is impossible, your first words, under any circumstances, should be that you're there on request made by the Scoutmaster."
Juny's voice was steady, as if she was having a conversation with a close friend.
"I will inform her beforehand, anyway. You will receive a box or a stack of documents with a potion bottle. It's a cure which we made for the spreading plague."
Miss Justice's eyes widened.
Her lips parted, but Juny wasn't planning on entertaining inquiries just yet.
"My request is for you to take it and make sure that it is distributed as much as possible. You don't need to invest any money, I can provide it. But it must happen as soon as possible, before the plague spreads too far."
Juny finally stopped speaking and lightly tilted her head at the exasperated Miss Justice.
"Can you do that?"
Miss Justice flinched, having realized that she was staring.
She was silent for a long moment before nodding.
"Yes, but I don't need to be paid for doing so."
Juny hummed.
"It's whatever you wish. If you do change your mind, tell the lady and you'll receive the money."
Having finished saying that, Juny leaned back and shared the information about two Kings of Angels.
The White Angel Aucuses and the Wind Angel Leodero.
She also mentioned to never say these names out loud without complete protection and secrecy.
As the conversation finished, the gray fog dispersed and the exchange continued.
Juny was silent as deals were made left and right.
She had no need for anything, nor was there a need for her to intervene.
She especially enjoyed watching Mr. Hanged Man scamming and bullying Miss Magician and the new Mr. Moon.
She was fine, even entertained with it, as long as he didn't touch the poor young Mr. Sun.
After a while, Mr. Hanged Man asked.
"Ladies and gentlemen, which one of you has a way or item to make everyone on board a ship sleep at the same time?"
At the same time, Miss Justice, Miss Magician and Mr. Sun shook their heads or answered with simple 'no'.
Mr. Moon seemed to be trying to recall something.
"I can help you ask. Perhaps us Sanguine have some mystical items that have a similar effect in the clan."
Juny held back a sigh when she heard Mr. Moon use 'us Sanguine' for the thousandth time today.
'He's going to be taken advantage of by Mr. Hanged Man the most at this rate... not that I mind. Heh.'
Juny looked at Mr. Hanged Man.
"May I ask, are you looking for a one time use or something to be used during multiple different occasions?"
Mr. Hanged Man, who seemed ready to respond to Mr. Moon turned to her.
"I'd prefer something which can be used multiple times."
Juny nodded.
"May I know the range? And the power level of the people? Also your ideal price could affect my recommendation. Currently there are three choices with very different pricing."
She was thinking of making a Mystical Weapon if necessary, but really, a potion would probably fit the situation the best.
Mr. Hanged Man's eyes narrowed but he answered without hesitation.Around 5 hours in time. The longer the better. In terms of strength, think Sequence 8 at most. As for the price... what's the range?"
Juny liked talking to Mr. Hanged Man as he didn't ask much.
She nodded, thinking.
"It ranges from 100 pounds to 500."
Mr. Hanged Man's expression didn't change.
Juny waited for his choice.
After a second, Mr. Hanged Man spoke.
"100 pounds is the price for single use, I presume?"
Juny gently shook her head.
"You can think of it like that, but if you wish to buy multiple use, the reuse will cost 60 pounds. Call it a recharge if you wish. It is a strong anesthetic potion."
Juny lifted her hand, a glass bottle with transparent light-blue appeared, floating atop her palm.
It was nothing more than an illusion she created.
"It is a potion which, if used correctly, creates and spreads a colorless gas. The gas is slightly lighter than normal air, so it will be able to affect standing, sitting or even lying people, but will not be able to pass through the sill below the door."
Juny didn't mind saying it as it was not very strong.
While Daimira was in her Potion Professor stage, she made many clever potions alongside Villia.
This one was Juny's idea, which she's seen in many movies before.
Since one of the Acting Principles of a Potion Professor is to create and come up with new potions, Daimira tried it and it worked wonders.
Juny went a bit further and, using her Weapons Smith abilities, created a tool which would disperse the invisible gas more easily.
Because of the fact that spirituality doesn't fade inside of the Dimensional Space, the potions were still as good as new.
Mr. Hanged Man agreed to the deal, he already learned that trying to scam Juny was not worth it.
Last time, he paid for it quite badly.
The Tarot Gathering went on for a while longer, but Juny didn't take part in it anymore.
And finally, Mr. Fool scanned the members before speaking in a composed manner.
"Let us end today's gathering here."
Juny stood up instantly, accompanied by the other members, except for the newbie Mr. Moon.
"By your will!"
...
Juny looked down at the swirling potion, swallowing her discomfort.
"Fuu... alright!"
Juny stomped her foot, turning around and walking through the Dimensional Space.
'This'll be fine~ It's so much easier than last time, I don't even need to prepare! Yep. Easy~'
As her monologue was filled with nonsense, Juny stopped before a strange structure.
It looked like a wooden portal with inlaid stones plus decorated with leaves and flowers.
The Battle Elementalist's Advancement Ritual is quite complex.
One is to gather Elementals which represent all 23 Pathways, The Void Pathway included, and create a pleasant environment for them in one place.
Then, one needs to consume the potion while surrounded with them and receiving their attention and protection.
And the craziest part is, you have to do this without being able see, hear, or sense them.
This means you'd be going in blind, literally.
Thankfully, that is not the case for Juny.
Because just like during the Sequence 5 Advancement Ritual, the Dimensional Space has a place just for this Advancement.
Juny sighed before placing her palm onto the 'door'.
Without any strength necessary, the door fully opened with just a touch.
Bright light burst through and hit Juny straight in the face.
After having to squint for a minute, a grand landscape opened up before her.
There were mountains, blue skies, forests but even sea and icebergs.
High up above was a bright shining light and to her right was a dark cave.
Juny looked around for a long while, stunned.
Then, she took a step forward and the portal 'door' closed shut behind her.
Juny didn't look back as she walked steadily towards the middle of this grand place.
There was a tall tree with hanging leaves of all sorts of colors.
The color of the wood was pure white and the tree itself seemed holy.
Juny knew that this is the place closest to all Elementals.
Juny sighed.
The place was silent, but she knew that there must be many eyes watching her.
She sat down, the Potion in hand.
'Well, here goes nothing I guess...'
Without a second thought, Juny tilted her head back and chugged down the swirling Potion.
Her body was calm for a moment, but soon, it split.
It was quick and sudden.
It parted and torn in all directions and at different frequencies.
Juny felt her body, she was still her, but she wasn't the only her.
'Juny' split into many bodies, each different from the current 'her'.
One was on flames while the other was covered in frostbite.
One's hair turned into snakes and next's gender changed into a man.
One's eyes were bright red with black nails while different one had eyes shining with bright holy light.
'Juny' was each and every one of 'her' but 'she 'was also none at all.
Her 'main' body from which the rest of 'hers' came from had transparent skin.
Her meat and organs became hazy and seemed to reflect never ending galaxies and dark void.
'Juny' felt everything, but 'she' was truly nothing.
And then, her mind itself began separating.
One was sneering, other was grinning widely, the next was calm while a different one was crying.
Anger, fear, confusion, happiness, ignorance, loathing, acceptance, playfulness, confidence, disgust, amazement, surprise, grief, terror, vigilance, serenity and cold-bloodedness.
'Juny' felt everything, while having no emotion at all.
Voices filled her head, 'her' voices, but also not her's.
'Why did I do this... It hurts.'
'Ah please~ don't be a crybaby, you're not even the one feeling the pain~'
'Hah?! Says who? You have no say you *****'
'Sniff! Don't fight! Wahhh.'
'Oh damn, is that my crybaby voice?'
'No, no, I think that's fear. Heh, I didn't know I was so emotional.'
'Is it 'I' tho? Isn't it 'we' at this point?'
'Why the hell are you using plural?!'
'Wow~ hold your horses angry guy.'
'Wait up, you're the only guy here! We're all girls!'
'Hey hey hey! You can't go around saying 'we'! We'll go crazy- F*ck!'
'What does it matter...? We did something we shouldn't have done, it's only natural to fail.'
'What does that even mean? No, why do you sound so depressing!'
'Okay, I have NO idea what you're all thinking, what am I thinking? What am I?'
'Right, that girl is completely out of it.'
'Oh Gods! Can you all just shut the f*ck up already?!'
'Oh~ angry are we? Calm down, it's not like a little conversation will kill us. I think.'
'Damn, we really are going to lose control, aren't we?'
'Yes, that is if you keep saying 'we'. I am not 'we', I am 'I''
'Sure, but you are also 'me', so that makes us 'we' doesn't it?'
As one of 'Juny' argued with different 'Juny', all of 'Juny' had the same thought.
'This is chaos.'
