After fighting with Logan for quite a while, John decided to bring it to a close. He had become accustomed to the battle and his experience in utilizing his abilities had also grown. Now, John no longer saw the need to rely solely on his physical abilities.
Instead, John made the decision to utilize the powers of his Quake Quake Fruit to end the fight. He swiftly evaded one of Logan's claws and then executed a backwards somersault.
"Be prepared," John issued a warning to Logan before employing the abilities of the Devil Fruit. This spar was merely a friendly contest, not a fight to the death. That was why John felt it necessary to give Logan a heads up.
Logan's expression also grew serious upon hearing John's warning, and he positioned himself in a defensive stance.
Summoning a transparent bubble that enveloped his fist, John leaped towards Logan and delivered a light, air-punch.
'I will increase the intensity of each punch, in order to determine Logan's limits. Additionally, it will help me train in controlling my Quake Quake fruit's power,' John resolved.
As John's fist met the air, a shockwave rippled outwards towards Logan. The shockwave grew in strength as it traveled, causing the ground beneath Logan's feet to crack and shake.
Logan swiftly reacted by crossing his arms in front of himself to shield against the approaching shockwave. The force of the wave pressed against Logan's arms, causing him to slide back slightly. Nevertheless, he managed to hold his ground and remain standing.
Observing that Logan was able to withstand the initial shockwave, John decided to escalate the situation. He focused his energy, unleashing a second wave of force towards Logan.
This time, Logan struggled to maintain his footing as the force pushed against him. He dug his feet into the ground, attempting to resist the impact. However, the power of the quake was too strong, and he was forced to take a few steps back.
Not wanting to give Logan a chance to recover, John continued his assault, unleashing wave after wave of powerful shockwaves. Each time, Logan did his best to brace himself and withstand the force, but he was slowly being pushed back.
As Logan fought against the onslaught, he felt the strain on his body increasing. The shockwaves were powerful and relentless, and he could discern that John was holding back. Determined not to be defeated, Logan pushed himself to the limit, utilizing every ounce of strength to resist the force.
"But it was becoming clear that John's Quake Quake Fruit was too powerful for Logan to overcome. With each passing moment, Logan was being pushed back further and further. He could feel his energy draining, and his muscles ached from the constant strain.
Finally, unable to hold on any longer, Logan stumbled and fell to the ground. He looked up at John, panting heavily, and raised a hand in surrender.
"You win," Logan admitted, his voice filled with exhaustion. "Your power... it's incredible."
John smiled, appreciating Logan's effort and determination. He extended his hand forward to help Logan stand up.
"You were holding back, weren't you, kid?" Logan took John's hand as he got up, his exhaustion slowly disappearing.
"I could say the same thing to you," John smiled.
"Still, in the end, we both know what the outcome would be if we started fighting without holding back," Logan sighed.
"Thanks for the opportunity to learn, Logan," John replied gratefully, while ignoring Logan's comment. He was definitely grateful to Logan for helping him hone his combat abilities.
"No problem, kid," Logan replied, as he looked at the rest of the group, who were still staring at John with awe and glowing eyes.
"Did you watch carefully? What did you think about it?" Logan asked them.
"John is incredibly strong!" the two fifteen-year-old girls, Laura and Jubilee, commented.
"He's quite good," Bobby and Scott commented, though Scott's face was filled with a bit of reluctance.
Logan then looked at Jean, who was standing beside Alex, urging her to answer his questions.
Of course, he didn't ask Alex, as he was an instructor in the school, just like him.
"The control demonstrated by him over his abilities is commendable. The shockwaves he generated and used to attack you at the end of the fight were continuously increasing in power. He didn't unleash all the destructiveness in one attack, but he tried to control the output of his attacks," Jean answered.
Logan nodded in approval at Jean's comments, as this was the actual answer he was looking for.
"You definitely got potential," Logan replied. "But you have to be careful not to let that power go to his head. It's one thing to have strength, but it's another thing entirely to know how to use it responsibly."
John nodded in agreement. "Absolutely. I'll make sure to be careful of that."
Logan turned his attention back to the group. "And you two," he said, looking at Laura and Jubilee. "Don't let his strength overshadow your own abilities. Each of you has your own unique talents, and it's important to embrace and develop them."
Laura and Jubilee nodded, understanding the importance of working together and not letting one person's strengths overshadow the rest. It was a valuable lesson that Logan and the other instructors constantly emphasized.
Then he turned towards Scott and Bobby.
"Now you two," Logan said, addressing Scott and Bobby. "Your powers may not be as flashy as some of the others, but they're just as important. Scott, with your optic blasts, you have the potential to be a powerful force in battle. But remember, control is key. You don't want those blasts going off uncontrollably. Take the time to practice and focus on your aim."
Scott nodded, taking the advice to heart. He knew he had a lot of power at his disposal, and he needed to make sure he could use it effectively without causing unnecessary destruction.
"And Bobby," Logan continued. "Your ice powers can be incredibly useful in both offense and defense. But again, control is important. You don't want to accidentally freeze your teammates in the heat of battle. Practice manipulating the temperature and density of your ice, and learn to use it strategically."
Bobby nodded, appreciating the guidance. He was still learning to fully harness his powers, and Logan's advice reminded him of the work he still needed to put in.
Logan looked at the group as a whole, making sure they understood the importance of their individual abilities and working together as a team. "Remember, you're not just individuals with powers," he said. "You're X-Men. And that means being responsible, supportive, and always striving to be better."
The group nodded, taking in Logan's words. They knew they had a long way to go in their training, but with Logan's guidance and their determination, they were ready to embrace their abilities and become the heroes they were meant to be.
John stood by the side while Logan lectured the group as he was not a part of the X-Men and neither the Xavier's school.
