UNRIVALED TANG SECT : Sharing Life With Firefly (Doulou 2)

Chapter 7: Douluo Star

As soon as he stepped out of the cocoon, Liuxing noticed something unusual about Firefly's gaze. She was trying to hide it, but her eyes were clearly fixed on him. Liuxing turned his head away, pretending not to notice, but he could still feel her sneaking glances at him.

The Goddess of Life chuckled softly, and with a wave of her jade-like hand, the green light cocoon transformed into a streamer, shooting toward both Liuxing and Firefly.

In the blink of an eye, Liuxing felt a new set of white robes appear on his body. At the same time, Firefly was also covered in a delicate dress.

The corners of Liuxing's mouth twitched as realization dawned on him. However, he decided to act like nothing had happened.

After all, he wasn't the type to overreact—especially since only the Goddess of Life and Firefly were present. It wasn't worth dwelling on.

Clenching his fists, Liuxing marveled at the surge of power coursing through him. His youthful new body felt unimaginably superior to the disease-ridden one he had left behind.

"So this is the power of Firefly?"

Though Liuxing had already gained some knowledge from Firefly's memories, experiencing it firsthand was entirely different. He knew that in her prime, Firefly's awakened form—having stepped into the explosive seed stage of the Path of Destruction—was capable of destroying planets. However, the current Firefly was far from her heyday. She was now a little girl whose potential was constrained by the limitations of this world.

The imaginary energy derived from practicing the Path of Destruction couldn't be absorbed here.

Of course, Firefly also had an exclusive mecha bound to her since birth—a Firefly Type IV Strategic Attack Armor, known as Sam, forged from the corpse of the insect swarm.

However, without the imaginary energy provided by the Path of Destruction, transforming into Sam came at a steep cost. In such circumstances, Firefly could only burn her own life force to fuel her battles.

Liuxing's current body, based on Firefly's, was created through the Life Sharing Ritual. This ritual allowed him to share Firefly's bloodline and power, representing its true purpose: granting someone access to the other's essence.

Had the Goddess of Life herself conducted the ritual, Liuxing could have ascended directly to godhood, sharing the divine position with her. Even now, by sharing Firefly's inheritance as the heir of the Goddess of Life, Liuxing had gained extraordinary power.

The ritual was a two-way connection; it wasn't merely Firefly sacrificing for Liuxing's benefit. For example, when Firefly cultivated and grew stronger, Liuxing's strength would also increase through the shared connection. Similarly, Liuxing's progress would benefit Firefly. In other words, as long as Firefly worked hard, Liuxing could grow stronger simply by doing nothing.

The life-sharing ritual was truly incredible. The Goddess of Life, while not particularly strong in combat, was unparalleled in auxiliary abilities such as healing, divination, and support. In these aspects, she far exceeded any of the other god kings.

"Is this what they call 'living off someone else's resources'?" Liuxing secretly clicked his tongue in amazement. The effects of the ritual were truly astonishing. Though this life-sharing ritual had essentially bound him and Firefly together for eternity, Liuxing felt no resentment. On the contrary, he was overjoyed.

After all, he was someone who should have died long ago. To have another chance at life, and one so extraordinary, was entirely thanks to Firefly and the Goddess of Life. What could he possibly be dissatisfied with?

Still…

Liuxing glanced at his small arms and legs, then turned to look at Firefly. A strange expression crept across his face. His body was modeled after hers, so how exactly was he supposed to define their relationship now?

The Goddess of Life observed the wide-eyed young boy and young girl before her. A knowing smile played on her lips, as if everything was unfolding according to her plans.

Firefly's body embodied both life and destruction. Whether it was the power of the God of Life or the God of Destruction, she was capable of inheriting it. However, the simultaneous inheritance of both gods' powers would inevitably result in severe conflict and rejection.

After all, it was this very opposition that prevented the Goddess of Life and the God of Destruction from creating life together.

The appearance of Liuxing had sparked new ideas for the Goddess of Life. Inspired by the successful example of the Sea God and the Shura Scabbard, Xiao Wu, she was reminded of the life-sharing ritual she had long since forgotten. The Sea God and Xiao Wu had shared a divine position, allowing them to switch seamlessly between the powers of the Sea God and the Shura God. Similarly, Liuxing, who now shared life with Firefly, could logically do the same!

If Liuxing could inherit the God of Destruction's divine position, he and Firefly would essentially wield dual divine positions. They would be able to alternate between the powers of destruction and life, avoiding any conflict between the two gods' energies. More importantly, this duality would allow them to fully comprehend both life and destruction. In time, they could merge these opposing forces, ascend as a God of Creation, and achieve the ultimate status of a Supreme God King—akin to the Dragon God, the only one of its kind in the universe.

Moreover, the Goddess of Life and the God of Destruction could use this opportunity to study how to bring life from destruction. Even if their research were to fail, once Firefly and Liuxing became Gods of Creation, they would possess the power to help the Goddess of Life and the God of Destruction create life. As the universe's sole God of Creation, such feats would undoubtedly fall within their capabilities.

"Thank you, Goddess of Life!"

Firefly and Liuxing bowed deeply to the Goddess of Life. Without her intervention, Liuxing's journey would have ended, and Firefly's future would have remained uncertain and adrift.

The Goddess of Life smiled gently and said, "Very well. I will send you to a planet of life. The Divine Realm is not suitable for your growth at this stage. A life-bearing planet in the lower realm will be better for your development.

"Each world is different, and you must adapt to this one. If you wish to inherit my divine position, you will also need to pass the Divine Throne Trial. Even I cannot grant you my throne without passing the trial. This is a rule of the Divine Realm, and as the Law Enforcement God, I must lead by example."

"Law Enforcement God?"

Liuxing couldn't help but feel a sense of déjà vu upon hearing this title. It struck him as oddly familiar, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't recall where he'd encountered it before.

The Goddess of Life fell silent, deep in thought. The Divine Realm governed 108 lower planes within this starfield, each with its own cultivation system. Despite their differences, they all shared a common goal: ascension to godhood.

She carefully considered which plane would best suit Firefly and Liuxing's growth. Firefly, despite her innate strength, had lost much of her power upon entering this new universe. Its laws were fundamentally different from those of her original world. To inherit a divine position in this realm, she would need to adapt to its cultivation system. Without doing so, ascension would be nearly impossible.

After some contemplation, the Goddess of Life finally made her decision. "Yes, I will send you to Douluo Star."

Douluo Star was a relatively advanced plane under the jurisdiction of the Divine Realm. Its cultivation system was unique, and it had produced multiple first-level gods and even a God King. The original Sea God and Angel God had both ascended from Douluo Star, and the current Tang San—who held dual divine positions as the Sea God and the Shura God—had also risen from that plane.

Given the extraordinary nature of Douluo Star, it was the ideal place for Firefly and Liuxing to grow. Since they were also destined to pursue dual divine positions, the plane's history made it a perfect match for their journey.
