Chapter 1360: Little Robots
-----
After testing the Equivalent Matter Exchange Skill a bit more, I realized there were a lot of liberties. I could even technically target magic structures, a house in these ruins, or even a whole tree as what I wanted to exchange. But to create a jewel like the one I gave to Erika, I would've needed to give up every single tree here, and that would have been too much.
To think all these trees are not as valuable as that single skill-upgrading item… It is a bit excessive, but I guess that's how the Skill itself works, and how they see it. I can already imagine using it against foes in imaginative ways. I simply cannot use living beings for this.
The plants weren't living when I offered them, living trees can't be used for example… But perhaps in the future that won't be an issue anymore, if the skill can eventually be upgraded somehow.
Lastly, the other Skill I wanted to check was the [Celestial Astral Nanobot Summon], which was one of the new Skills for my Main Class, formed by combining many keywords from many classes, which all merged into this.
So this Skill better be good.
"{Celestial Astral Nanobot Summon}"
I summoned it in that moment, while Erika attentively watched, she is as clingy as usual. Perhaps in the past I would've been rather annoyed, but right now I felt happy she was there with me, and that she loved me with sincerity.
So, I took joy in showing her fascinating things to make her feel in awe, to see her beautiful smile, to make her giggle adorably, and to make every moment I have with her memorable.
Maybe I am exaggerating a bit, but love is a strange thing, it makes me want to do such things, even though I won't really earn anything in return other than personal satisfaction, happiness.
FLAAASH!
And in my hands, as Erika saw with awe, her eyes shining brightly, a series of white and golden sparkles of light manifested, slowly becoming more solid, turning into fly-sized…
Robots?
I suppose they're nanobots, huh?
They were spherical, with a tiny camera-like eye, they had four tiny legs made of white steel, and had no wings, floating in midair.
They released tiny auras of very white and bright light, only a couple made for a nice spectacle already.
"Oh wow! What's that? Another new skill?!"
She was rather surprised.
"Yeah, do you like how they look?"
"Yeah, they're like fireflies! What are they?"
She approached one of them, trying to touch it, but the nanobot suddenly created a strange barrier.
"Erika, don't touch them!"
I rapidly pulled her back, a second before a spark of white lightning were to hit her.
"Uwah?!"
She was surprised, but unharmed, thankfully.
She's very cute when curious, but her curiosity could sometimes end up harming her.
"Are you alright? Don't touch these things for now, they might be dangerous. I am still trying to see what they can do."
"O-Oh! Okay, sorry… I almost screwed up, heheh…"
"It's fine, you just need to be more cautious, alright?"
I held her hand gently and caressed it, making her blush lightly we were very close. For some reason, every day that passed she only became more beautiful.
"Y-Yes, I understand Blake… Thank you for being so nice with me."
"I'll always be, there's no need to thank me every time… I usually wonder why you do it."
"Hm, well… before I met you, nobody was really nice with me… Whenever I made a new friend, they would quickly learn about rumors about me and my family and… well, they would leave. People looked at me weirdly and… w-well, that's in the past now, right? Hehe! I'm happy I got many friends and you with me now! So I'm always grateful! Daddy said that I always had to thank for the things I had in life."
"I see… I wish we could've met earlier, Erika. I would have gladly become your friend back then as well."
"Blake… Geez, you're going to make me fall for you all over again!"
She pouted adorably, as she kissed my cheek.
"I wouldn't mind that…"
"A-Anyway, let's check that little thing instead… You get too distracted nowadays, is it because of me? Am I too cute? Hehe~"
She knew…
"A-Ah… Of course… but that doesn't have anything to do with it."
"Hmm~ That so? Heh~!"
I tried to deny it as I focused on the skill itself again.
As I focused, the nanomachines responded to me, rapidly beginning to… multiply?
FLASH!
As I felt my Mana depleting over time, dozens of nanomachines were manifested, overflowing with bright auras.
"Okay, that's interesting… Show me what you can do. You have Auras and move interpedently… right?"
The nanomachines responded by rapidly combining, assembling themselves together out of nowhere into a white, silver, and blue colored laser gun.
FLUOSH!
"Huh?!"
Erika and I had a similar response to that, as the gun landed on my hand…
"That's… a gun?"
"Yeah…"
I pointed it at the nearby tree she destroyed and shot the gun.
A blue colored laser beam was shot, it was small and short, but…
BOOOM!
It generated a pretty strong, yet small explosion, blasting the wood into flames and burning it.
The level of burning was strong, it began to turn into ashes quite rapidly.
I quickly shot a few times into the sky this time, and then I was out of ammo.
So its not that different from my own Artillery Skill, where I can create a bunch of guns, that's not really that original.
But this is just the starting form, isn't it?
If its really like nanomachines, then technology can be recreated.
"Wow it was a gun!" Erika said. "It shot laser beams or something?"
"Yeah, pretty strong, but look, I can already make all kinds of guns with this other Skill," I said, as I materialized out of my Umbral Crimson Shadows a large machinegun. "Take this."
"E-Eh? Ah…" She looked at the machinegun with surprise and ended firing it at the trees.
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
"Woah, this is so destructive!"
"Technically not as strong as your swordsmanship though."
As she enjoyed the gun I gave to her, I quickly decided to go a bit more serious, creating many more nanomachines, as many as I could with my current Mana.
FLAAASH!
And as my Mana was almost depleted, an army of over one thousand of them manifested, resembling a cloud of white and silver colored machines floating around gracefully.
"Now let's see what I can make with you."
I quickly infused my own mind into the nanomachines, creating a mental mapping of my own creation.
They quickly began to assemble together, merging into large parts of metal, wires, engines, and more, constantly generating loud noises.
CLANK! CLANK! CLANK!
