Chapter 1368: Just Wait For Me
-----
"Fine, I'll raise it to the maximum difficulty, have fun."
As she smiled, the gate trembled.
RUMBLE!
"GRUOOOHHHH!"
And monstrous Ascended Xenoids appeared, copies of previous foes, accompanied by the Saurian King as well.
"Now this is more up my alley…"
…
I trained, and trained, and trained, and trained.
What was only thirty minutes I spent in the real world, was actually five hours.
Enough time for Aurora to throw every powerful foe I've battled in the Trial.
At first she started sending them in miniature, but over time, the entire arena was destroyed, and I was fighting in space in their true forms.
My movements became more precise, my attacks were explosive, releasing giant explosions of energy with anything I did.
Whenever I moved, the ground beneath me cracked instantly and left massive craters on the ground.
Flying wasn't a problem, a mere kick allowed me to move at speeds I could never have done before.
I fought with every Ascended Xenoid and the Saurian Kings copies, sometimes with ten of them at the same time.
They helped me adjust my powers while being amazing punching bags. Their powers, their techniques, even how they behaved was all sustained as well.
And then, as the last hour challenge, I even fought with the Xenoid Queen again, on my own, at her full power within this simulated domain.
It was an intense battle, I gained scratches on my body, but I never bled.
Her titanic body was indeed something to behold, but as I tried out my many new evolved abilities, I discovered I could match her height by combining my Auras together.
Eventually, even her fell before me, as I mostly used my bare body, without any weapons at all other than my Soul and my Body.
When I walked out of the simulation, I felt refreshed, I finally grasped my powers to a much better extent.
I wanted to train more; however. It was addictive…
But for now, this was more than enough.
FLUOSH!
I felt my Aura gently permeating me, shining brightly with many flowing colors, sparkling like stars.
My senses had been so elevated, I could feel and sense everything around me.
The Dragon Heart had truly evolved as well, merging further with the Rainbow Star.
Its abilities were most likely improved too.
But then, something appeared in front of me.
It wasn't the grimoire this time, but an holographic message.
[Congratulations! You have completed the {Infernal-Level Difficult Trial! Defeat Past Enemies!} within the estimated time!]
[You have received the following reward]: [Skill Proficiency Potion] x3 [Vessel And Soul Growth Potion] x3 [Bonded Spirit Growth Potion] x3
"What is this? Rewards?!"
I was left slightly speechless as I glanced at these messages.
"Indeed, it seems that my powers have further connected to something else, not just your Grimoire, the Virtual World, but also your Creation Powers, and especially, the Equivalent Matter Exchange Skill!" Aurora smiled.
"What? Really? Wait, I did use it with you and Eleanora and Nova…" I was surprised.
"Apparently, by giving enough effort and forcing yourself to your limits and beyond, that counts as "value" which this new power will convert into rewards that'll make you and those that enter even stronger," Aurora explained. "But it needs a lot, and I mean a lot of training to give out anything!"
"Hmmm… Amazing! This is just what we needed!" I nodded.
As I felt relieved and happy, I walked out, feeling my Aura fluctuate through my body.
The world around me felt very different for some reason.
"Ready for what's to come next, Blake?"
Aurora looked at me in the eyes.
And then, I saw it.
Within her bright silver eyes, Fafnir.
His monstrous strength, incomprehensible power.
Just that alone is a tremendous mystery.
How is he so strong?
Why is he so powerful?
What is his secret?
Where is this power coming from?
Where did he come from?
I want to learn all these things…
And for such a formidable foe like him, I'll give it my all.
Quite honestly… I am brimming with excitement more than ever before.
My body, my soul…
As they changed, as they evolved, as they transformed…
They changed me as well, I need to battle, I need to test this power.
I must fight him.
"Fafnir! Wait for me a little longer. I won't disappoint you."
As I spoke to the wind, Aurora, Eleanora, and Nova looked at me with confusion.
They thought Fafnir couldn't hear me.
But I spoke through a more special way of speaking, carrying power and energy in every word using my Dragon Tongue.
I could feel his eyes opening, glaring towards my direction, tens of thousands of kilometers away.
"HEH… CONFIDENT LITTLE HUMAN. HURRY! BEFORE MY PATIENCE RUNS THIN…"
As I smiled and closed my eyes, I walked back to my friends, food was ready, and I was starving.
"B-Blake?"
As I walked towards them, Erika gasped, noticing my presence.
My Aura and my appearance, which had suddenly changed so much…
"I-Is that you?"
Eric was surprised, he was still talking with my Rainbow Star Clone, who quickly turned into light and went into my chest.
"Yeah, it's me. I went through a little exercise. Surely you didn't miss the beam that hit the sky, right?" I asked.
"W-We saw that but… We didn't want to disturb you; whatever you did man… You look great," Chris muttered, amazed. "Your power though… What… what the hell happened to you?"
"You… You've gone even further?" Eldritch muttered, his eyes filled with disbelief. "You just walked out of that trial looking so strong, and you went… even further?!"
"Turns out there was a lot of hidden potential saved inside of me," I smiled confidently. "I'll go take a quick shower and change my clothes. I'll come to eat with everyone, and we can talk by then. Wait a bit."
Although I could probably use magic to do those things, I didn't really bother. I enjoyed these things at my own pace.
A quick, cold shower, and then some new clothes.
Sometimes, it's fine to enjoy the simpler things in life.
