Chapter 209: The Goth Club Reunites
Crimson Dawn spread across the world, its scarlet light sweeping over the entire exam, covering every inch in its embrace. Merciless felt it, saw it; all of it. Every being, every level 5 and above, was now within his reach. No one could escape.
"Oiii... Ophis... what the hell is this?"
He muttered, the crimson glow casting eerie shadows on his face.
Ophis, her senses swirling, scanned the area. She couldn't pinpoint the exact source, but instinct guided her. The world trembled under the weight of Merciless's Crimson Dawn. It was everywhere.
She focused, her eyes narrowing. Three immense power sources stood out. One was a mid-level 5, the other a lower-level 5, with multiple mutated anomalies scattered across its body.
But the real danger, the overwhelming presence, came from an existence standing beside them, a power so immense that even Ophis shuddered at the thought of confronting it. It was a presence she didn't dare cross.
"Leave it be."
Ophis said, her voice soft but firm.
"Just keep your eyes open and your guard up."
The man beside her sighed, understanding the unspoken weight of her command. He didn't question it. He followed her orders, and they remained silent.
Elsewhere, in the mansion where the servants watched the events unfold, the sight of the scarlet light triggered a wave of panic.
"Wait...Wait...Wait!! Hold up a minute. I-Isn't this the same light that damn vampire used last time? Shit... shit... we're dead, we are so dead."
"Is this the guy they're calling Versatile Red?"
"No... no... I don't want to die. I've survived too long for it to end like this."
"Shit... Team #13, vassals, formation O, quick. Make sure there are no blind spots. This bastard can attack from anywhere. Monica, use your spatial chain to bind us together. Patrice, link our senses with your magic. Versatile Red's making his move."
"Roger that... The rest of you get into position, now!"
"Aye-aye!"
As the remaining servants and exam participants scrambled into defensive formations, one thing became clear: fear had taken hold. They were no longer just fighting for victory; they were fighting for survival.
Throughout the entire exam, only the strongest remained, but now they all shared the same terrifying realization. The most dangerous entity wasn't just an opponent; it was a faceless anomaly whose abilities were unpredictable. It had no gender, no identity, no voice. Its form constantly shifted, and its power was many and effective. It could copy, modify, and warp reality with a single thought with the red light.
In the face of this, the only question that mattered was: How do you fight something you can't even understand?
Power differences seemed irrelevant. Even the strongest abilities felt useless against an enemy so unpredictable. You couldn't defeat what you couldn't see, what you couldn't identify, or even locate.
It was a nightmare with no solution.
And so, from the shared fear of vampires and servants alike, Merciless was given a moniker, one born of terror and awe.
"The Faceless Devil... Versatile Red. Once the scarlet light appears, it's already too late to run. All that matters is survival."
Yet as panic began to flood the entire exam, there was a group unaware of the chaos, given their unique disposition at the time of Merciless Mansion massacre.
Merciless team.

"Oh, put a sock in it, you smurf bitch... you're only like this because you have to make a scene to make people remember you... oh, maybe that's why your blue, so you can stand out because even the world knows that with a bitchy attitude like yours, you are easily one of the most forgettable vampires there is."
Ophelia said to Abadis; at this moment, the two of them were in a heated argument.
Naturally, however, Abadis did not take kindly to Ophelia's words, and as such, she spoke back.
"Wow, that sounds hilarious coming from a bitch whose only redeeming feature worth remembering is the fact that they were a good fuck toy for some random nobody with good genes, pfftt... little darling of the Harlot clan. Always so polished, so elegant, right? Too bad the only thing your clan excels at is spreading their legs for whoever holds the purse strings. What a proud legacy you've got there, huh?"
"Tell me, Ophelia, how does it feel to be the product of a clan that's made a name by selling its body and its pride to the highest bidder? I'm sure your mother would be so proud of you; one more generation of sluts to carry on the tradition."
Abadis's voice rose in mockery, cutting deep. If it was one thing Abadis excelled at, then she was similar to kid Mercy in a way; there shit talking knows no bonds.
"Tell me, does it hurt knowing your worth is nothing more than what you can provide under the sheets? Your clan's reputation is built on the idea that every person you sleep with leaves a little piece of themselves behind... How fitting, Kihihiihii... really, and truly. Only, with all that fucking, I'm surprised you haven't bled out by now."
Ophelia's face flushed, her fists clenching at her sides, but Abadis continued, her voice venomous.
"Just admit it, Ophelia. You're nothing but a whore playing dress-up, trying to convince everyone else you're worth something more than the price of your body. But you're not fooling anyone. You never will."
At Abadis's biting words, Ophelia began to unravel in anger; for a moment, the side of her she had been holding back seemed to slip at Abadis words.
Her blindfold, usually unyielding, started to glitch, fading in and out of existence as if reality itself rejected it and accepted it, yet it cannot decide. On the other hand, her aura flared violently, not in power but in corruption.
The surrounding environment seemed to recoil and then fold into her, as if the very fabric of the exam's construct couldn't resist her pull. The ground quaked, cracks spiderwebbing out as her black aura seeped forth, devouring the corruption around her and empowering her own corruption even further for a moment; her corruption was at the same level of Merciless when they first met.
Her neon green eyes, glowing with anger, looked in Abadis direction as she walked forward while saying in a soft and cold voice.
"You know."
Ophelia began as she continued.
"Maybe I should hide the very event that would have made you a twin and wipe you from existence altogether. Or better yet, hide every selective trace of history itself so that every good thing that's ever happened to you never existed. Maybe then you'd have an actual excuse for being the insufferable, miserable cunt you are now."
As she spat her words, black fox ears began to manifest atop her head, flickering with corruption. From there, five massive, inky black Kitsune tails unfurled behind her, swaying and whipping through the air like tendrils of darkness.
Nature itself seemed to spiral into chaos around her; trees shook violently, their branches snapping in protest; the wind howled and twisted erratically, refusing to follow any discernible pattern; and the ground beneath her feet began to crystallize into brittle, eerie salt formations.
But upon seeing this, Abadis did not flinch; instead, she increased her aura to a great degree, her yellow cloak wrapping around her, levitating off the ground as she typically would. Of course, she began her retort by saying.
Abadis smirked, her voice dripping with mocking sarcasm.
"Ohhh, I'm so scared. You've turned into a fury big deal."
She crossed her arms, tilting her head with feigned boredom before continuing, her tone sharper.
"And just so we're clear, you don't scare me. Not one bit. Come on, little fox girl. I've been waiting for a reason to beat the ever-living shit out of you since the moment you started acting up. A mere scion, pretending you're someone important... kuku.. don't make me laugh."
At these words, Ophelia's composure snapped. She lunged at Abadis, her claws elongating as she snarled, hatred dripping from her voice.
"That's it! I'm sick of your shit. Today's the day you learn some damn manners, you bitch!"
But before Ophelia could even close the gap, the entire group was abruptly enveloped in a scarlet light, halting her in her tracks. The air grew heavy with a strange energy.
"What the hell is this?"
Abadis exclaimed, her expression shifting from smug to stunned as the crimson glow bathed the area. Before she could fully process what was happening, a flash of neon blue light burst directly in front of her.
In an instant, Ophelia vanished from the scene, leaving behind only Abadis and the rest of the group, who had been silently ignoring their heated confrontation.
Looking at it, Abadis said to herself.
'Wait... that neon blue flash of light; it's just like that one time."
She said to herself as the memory of Substance came into her mind.

"Ha?"
*Thud!!*
"... Stupid bitt... ha...
Ophelia landed with a thud on the cold surface of desert sand, a stark contrast to the dense forested area she had just been in. The dry, biting wind rushed past her, sweeping her hair as the cool night air settled over her skin. She pushed herself upright, her neon green eyes glowing with anger as they darted around, scanning her unfamiliar surroundings.
The barren landscape stretched out in every direction, a stark and desolate expanse devoid of life. The last thing she remembered was a flood of scarlet light consuming everything, followed by an overwhelming burst of neon blue.
Her voice broke through the silence, frustration, and confusion dripping from every word.
"...Wh-Where the hell am I?!"
Said Ophelia, as she was suddenly taken aback by a familiar voice.
"I want to know the same thing too."
Turning around, Ophelia's eyes met with Lucifera, who began to look at her and comment.
"You don't look please at all."
"Ha, only if you knew the half of it."
Ophelia replied back to Lucy.
Who just nodded her head, on the other hand, Ophelia looked to the front of the pyramid, as she began to comment.
"By the way, were you kidnapped by a blue light too?"
Lucy, of course, walked up to the front of the pyramid, as she said.
"Yeah... whoever brought us here, did it intentionally."
"But who would bring us here?"
Said Ophelia, to which she replied, as she proceeded to pick up a familiar scent. But it changes a lot.
*Sniff*
"Ha wait Lucy this smell... its..
"That right... I am the one who brought you, ladies, here, It has been a while hasn't it Lucy... Ophelia, or was my presence so thin you already forgot lil ol me?"
A familiar voice echoed behind them, and the two of them turned around to meet it. However, upon turning around they were surprised to see what they did not expect.
"... B-Big... HUGE WHAT THE FUCK?!"
Lucy said as she turned around, her head raised upwards to see Merciless, her reaction was pure shock at his current form, Ophelia was no different either.
"Holy shit... is that really you Merciless."
