Chapter 29: “The Ashen Hunt”
Evaluation System:
"The trials will be judged using a point system. The higher your score, the better your chances of being accepted into one of the coveted divisions."
Selection Process:
"After the trials are completed, the division commanders will decide which candidates to recruit into their teams. Each commander also has the right to replace one of their current recruits with a new candidate to make room for fresh talent. The replaced member will then be re-entered into the selection process and may be picked up by another division. Those who are not selected will either be placed into the fourth division – the Outsiders – or removed from the program entirely."
"I would like to emphasize that the Wolf Ritual is strictly confidential. Only we, the members of the White Wolves, know what happens here. It takes place in remote locations, hidden from the outside world."
Echo paused and let her gaze sweep across the tense crowd of recruits before continuing:
"Now, onto the first trial –"
Phase 1: The Hunt – The Ashen Field
"The first trial takes place on an abandoned industrial site riddled with chaotic resonance fields. Toxic gases linger in the air, and dangerous creatures have made their nests there. Your task is simple: collect resonance crystals. These crystals are hidden in hard-to-reach areas of the field – you must find them."
"Collecting the crystals requires more than just endurance. Creatures infected with chaotic resonance patrol the area. Additionally, you'll be competing against other candidates, who will also try to snatch the crystals for themselves. A warning: the field is dangerous. Resonance storms can cloud your senses, and other participants may try to steal the crystals from you."
Echo's voice hardened: "Anyone who fails to secure at least one crystal will be eliminated from the trial. There is no room for failure here."
"The goal is clear: collect as many crystals as possible, but think carefully about your approach. You will be judged not only on the number of crystals you gather but also on how skillfully you achieve it."
