Chapter 2: The Mystery Unfolds
Jisso begins exploring the villa, taking in the grand, decayed elegance of the rooms. But as she turns a corner, she hears faint laughter coming from a room at the end of the hallway. Her curiosity piqued, she approaches the door quietly and, hesitating, peeks through the keyhole.
To her surprise, she sees three strikingly handsome men seated around a grand dining table. Each one possesses an allure that seems both otherworldly and dangerous.
The man closest to her is dressed in a black shirt and denim jeans, with sleek black hair and piercing red eyes. His expression is cold and distant, a look that reveals nothing of his thoughts or intentions.
(Jisso's thoughts) "Who is he? Looks like he's holding some sort of dark secret…"
Next, her gaze drifts to a figure in a white shirt and black pants, whose orange hair frames a face lit with an easy, confident smirk. His green eyes glint with a playful, knowing look.
(Jisso's thoughts) "And this one… he seems like he's hiding a mischief behind that smile."
Finally, her eyes land on a third young man with a youthful, almost innocent face. Dressed in a white shirt with suspenders and black jeans, he has vibrant purple hair and matching eyes, and his relaxed posture suggests a childish, carefree nature.
(Jisso's thoughts) "He looks... almost approachable... but why are they all here?"
A gasp escapes her as she quickly steps back from the door, trying to steady her breathing. She faces away, telling herself it must be her imagination.
Jisso: "It's just my mind playing tricks on me... Chill, Jisso."
She chuckles nervously, convincing herself it was just a daydream. Gathering her courage, she takes another peek through the keyhole—only to find the room empty, the chairs eerily vacant.
As she lets out a sigh of relief, feeling a bit silly for getting so worked up, a deep voice suddenly echoes from directly behind her, sending ice through her veins.
???: "Who are you?"
Jisso's breath catches in her throat. Her heart pounding, she turns slowly, coming face-to-face with one of the men she'd just seen—Subaru, the cold-hearted one with the piercing red eyes.
Her voice barely a whisper, she stammers, "I… I'm Jisso… I didn't know anyone else was here."
Subaru regards her with an unreadable expression, his gaze cold but intense, as though he can see straight into her soul.
