Versatile Mage : Reborn As Mo Fan

Chapter 5: Chapter 5: Off-Campus Training

After the little pendant absorbed the energy from the Stardust Magic Tool, Mo Fan was already prepared and quickly made a call to Teacher Tang Yue.

As the call ended, Mo Fan began to compose himself.

As he feigned panic, a faint ripple appeared in the dark rooftop.

"Mo Fan?"

At the same time, Tang Yue's pleasant voice echoed from the shadows.

"Teacher Tang Yue?" Mo Fan feigned surprise, hurriedly turning to look across the open rooftop.

"What happened to your Stardust Magic Tool?" Tang Yue ignored Mo Fan's exaggerated reaction and directly asked about the tool.

A malfunction in the Stardust Magic Tool was no small issue!

"I don't know either. I followed Teacher Xue Musheng's instructions, but for some reason, the energy in the tool suddenly disappeared, and then..."

Mo Fan hesitated for a moment before taking out his pendant, looking confused. "Then the energy transferred into my pendant."

Since he had called Tang Yue to help solve the problem, there was no need to hide anything. After all, Tang Yue was a good teacher, something Mo Fan had "experienced" firsthand!

"You mean the energy from the school's Stardust Magic Tool transferred into your own pendant?" Tang Yue's bright eyes widened in disbelief.

"Yes, although I have no idea why my ancestral pendant has this ability, that's the reality." Mo Fan took off the pendant and handed it to Tang Yue.

Tang Yue, still shocked, examined the pendant.

"This pendant of yours is also a Stardust Magic Tool, but it's different from the regular ones we've seen. It's a growth-type Stardust Magic Tool."

Tang Yue explained its significance, and Mo Fan listened attentively.

Then, with a hopeful gaze, Mo Fan looked at the beautiful woman before him. "Teacher Tang Yue, you wouldn't want me to get kicked out of school by that old guy from the Mu family just because of this magic tool issue, right?"

"???"

Tang Yue, upon hearing this, was speechless.

This kid sure knows how to manipulate things!

However, Tang Yue naturally couldn't just sit by and do nothing.

Not only did she explain the importance of the magic tool, but she also promised to help him resolve the matter smoothly.

In return, Mo Fan owed Teacher Tang Yue a favor.

After Tang Yue left, Mo Fan resumed his training. Through their conversation, he realized something important:

His pendant could absorb spirit essence to upgrade. In his original world, there was no need for spirit essence, possibly because of the Holy Spring of Earth!

But with two years left, how could he just stand still waiting for the Holy Spring?

Besides, he possessed a mutated spirit seed.

With such an amazing start, it would be a waste not to take full advantage of it!

Before long, this training period ended, and the time for a brutal field training session was approaching.

The training would begin with the elite class.

While others were filled with worry, Mo Fan, on the other hand, looked eager and excited!

By now, both his Lightning Stardust and Fire Stardust had advanced to the second level.

There was no need for shortcuts; his breakthroughs were natural and well-deserved.

Additionally, while most elite class students needed 5 to 10 seconds to successfully cast a spell, Mo Fan could already cast Fire Burst: Scorch in just three seconds.

As for Lightning Strike: Python's Scar he could complete it in about three to four seconds.

Of course, this was when his mind was focused. In a real crisis, the time might vary.

This training session would be a good opportunity to test his combat skills.

Early in the morning, the elite class was divided into five groups and boarded buses heading toward the Snow Peak Mountain station.

The Snow Peak Mountain station was an important outpost for the Hunter's Union, linking Bo City with essential supplies. The outpost was nestled deep within a mountain valley.

As they boarded the bus and drove through a vast area of wasteland outside the city, lush and towering forests soon appeared in the distance.

The forests were dense and green, with vibrant leaves and tall grasses nearby. The distant mountains were rugged, shrouded in thick clouds.

In this world, it was rare to experience the wilderness because the wilds were filled with danger.

Mages had the chance to venture out of the safe zones, but ordinary people might never have the opportunity to enjoy such scenery in their entire lives.

Finally, they arrived at the Snow Peak Mountain station.

Although called a "small outpost", it was far from a simple village.

The outpost was nestled between two towering cliffs, each about 100 meters high, and only by craning their necks could they see the sky.

The cliffs formed natural barriers, and the valley's entrance was sealed by two massive stone gates, turning the outpost into a fortress town.

Once they arrived, their demon-beast instructor, Teacher Zhang, began to explain the situation. The accompanying instructors didn't stop him since the other groups hadn't arrived yet.

As the other buses carrying the remaining four groups arrived, the 100 elite students from Tianlan Magic High School gathered under the towering stone gates.

Atop the gates were watchtowers, where a military mage played idly with a small flame in his hand. The tiny flame danced around his fingers like a well-trained pet, occasionally flying around him in an elegant display.

This man was none other than Chief Instructor Zhan Kong.

A true warrior willing to stand up for his country.

At first glance, Zhan Kong might seem unreliable or even carefree. But those who truly knew him understood how honorable and upright this scruffy man was!

Mo Fan remembered watching him during his self-sacrifice at the Ancient City and couldn't help but think to himself.

He realized he could never become like Zhan Kong.

As the other instructors greeted Zhan Kong, and the students watched him curiously, Zhan Kong's gaze swept over the students and landed on Mo Fan, who was staring back. He first seemed regretful, then...

Zhan Kong: ???

He was confused. Did he somehow look like Mo Fan's late grandfather?

Why was Mo Fan looking at him like he was attending a funeral?

Mo Fan quickly snapped out of his emotional reflection and couldn't help but chuckle, his solemn mood vanishing into thin air.

Seeing this, Zhan Kong silently thought: "Is this kid an idiot or something?"

"Chief Zhan?"

Just as the chief instructor was feeling confused and somewhat irritated, Luo Yunbo called out.

"Oh, I had nothing to do, so I heard there'd be some high school girls arriving today and came to check them out," Zhan Kong joked, returning to his carefree self.

After a bit of playful banter with some of the younger students, the chief instructor allowed them to enter.

The outpost was simple, with only one main street lined with shops and stalls. It resembled a bustling market town.

However, the goods sold here were all related to mage combat and training.

But Mo Fan, with only a few coins in his pocket, had no interest in shopping. After entering, they were immediately called to assemble again.
