Versatile Mage: Starting with the White Tiger Pendant

Chapter 87: Chapter 87: One Person Defends

Tang Yue, Lu Mei, and the demon hunters, as well as the military mages, looked at each other in shock.

The sisters were particularly surprised. They thought they knew their younger brother well, but every time they fought, he still managed to surprise them. Indeed, in a new battle, Lu Jun's water magic couldn't display its full power.

However, Lu Jun wasn't done yet. He took a deep breath, and in his mental world, the blue nebula dimmed. Only a small amount of magical energy remained, just enough to unleash the Sixth Wave of Destruction.

Whoosh!

Lu Jun floated in mid-air. His eyes reflected black and white, and his spiritual energy was highly focused. His momentum was god-like, almost demonic. The lake in front of him trembled as countless wisps of mist rose, and the dark blue light of the mist gathered around him.

A vast domain was faintly visible, the water elemental magic surged, quickly overpowering all other elements. It formed a strong repulsive force.

Tang Yue felt her fire-based nebula grow quiet, oppressed by the overwhelming power. The others could feel it too; they were all being suppressed.

The leader of the military mages gasped, "This... this is a domain? How could a mere mid-tier mage do this?"

The hallmark ability of high-tier mages is elemental domains. Only powerful beings who control them, like those at the fourth dimension of spiritual energy, enter the upper ranks.

It was almost impossible for mid-tier mages to reach this level unless they were disaster-bearers like Qin Yuer, Mu Ningxue, or Ding Yumei.

Tang Yue frowned, judging, "It's not a domain. At most, it's a pseudo-domain."

At this moment, Lu Jun was too focused to care about the others. His concentration was immense, and his second-level peak spiritual power was barely able to control the energy. This massive display was just an illusion caused by the uncontrollable energy spilling over. It created the effect of a domain.

Ordinary water mages using the Tidal Spirit Seed couldn't achieve this level. The Sixth Wave of Destruction was extremely difficult to control. Otherwise, when the seed was sold, it wouldn't be priced so low—it could have easily fetched millions.

Boom!

Finally, Lu Jun threw a punch, draining the water nebula, his body surrounded by blinding light as it fell like a water curtain, blotting out the sky. It covered half the lake in an instant, and the most central advanced warrior bore the brunt of the impact. Tens of millions of tons of water crashed down, causing waves to slam into the dam.

Mud and sand flew up, and the murky lake water swirled. In the center, the massive crocodile demon leader was split in half by the waterfall's force. Its spine was shattered, and blood poured out, its internal organs twisted.

At the same time, a Warriors's soul floated upward, accompanied by the remnants of over two hundred crocodile demons who had died, their souls gathering inside the White Tiger pendant.

Seeing this, Lu Jun was slightly disappointed. Even the advanced Warrior didn't yield a Warrior-level soul Essence. If it had, it would have sold for millions.

However, not long later, his disappointment turned to joy as he looked inside the White Tiger pendant. It had already gathered five synthesized [Slave-level Souls], along with two complete [Slave-level Souls], totaling [Seven Souls]. The number of Warrior soul Fragment exceeded ten.

This meant that Lu Jun could now, at any time, trigger a level-four water magic skill.

He pondered for a moment. Two of the slave-level souls would be kept for selling, and the rest, along with the synthesized souls, were pulled into the dim blue nebula in the dark universe.

Pop! Pop! Pop!

Like the sound of eggs cracking, the stars in the water nebula expanded as they were nourished by the souls. Five stars became brighter, and a gentle magical power was released, making the nebula slightly more radiant.

Still short by two stars, but Lu Jun wasn't in a rush. The rainy season would last a while, and there would be plenty of opportunities to kill demons. Sooner or later, he would gather them all, and perhaps even more elements.

Lu Jun was deeply moved. He hadn't expected to push his water magic to this extreme, barely touching the threshold of a domain. In some ways, it was now his strongest method.

The gold system is slightly insufficient. Of course, it needs to accumulate power, but the intermediate gold system does not need it. It can transform into seven swords in one breath. Each sword is as big as a mountain in the sky and can destroy the world when it falls.

Once at the mid-tier peak, even some weaker high-tier mages could be defeated, as Mo Fan did when he fought above his level.

The nearby demon hunters and soldiers gasped in awe. An advanced battle Warrior-level creature was not something that could be handled without high-tier mages or a few mid-tier peak experts. Yet, it had been swept away by Lu Jun's two waves of destruction.

"Look!" someone suddenly shouted, pointing at the murky lake. "The crocodile demons are retreating."

The lake was filled with floating crocodile corpses. The water shimmered with black light as massive shadows moved under the surface, retreating along the gaps, occasionally brushing against the bodies of their fallen companions.

The remaining three hundred crocodile demons retreated, following the river back to the main flow of the Huangpu River.

There were over seven hundred corpses left behind, a crushing defeat.

The soldiers and officers were stunned. They had barely contributed, but they still won. They had held the Songjiang Dam, and Lu Jun had done most of the work.

The demon hunters weren't concerned. They looked at the crocodile corpses in the lake, their eyes gleaming with excitement. After all, they hunted demons for money.

Tang Yue paused for a moment, then turned to the mages. "Lu Jun contributed the most this time. He should get half the corpse share. Also, the Advanced Warrior-level corpse belongs to him."

The others nodded, unconcerned. They hadn't died, so they still earned pure profit.

The demon hunters began diving into the lake, retrieving the crocodile corpses and dividing the materials. The crocodile skin was extremely tough. Even if it wasn't made into magical armor, it could still provide strong defense when worn.

As they hauled up the twenty-meter-long giant crocodile, Lu Jun smiled at his sister. "The crocodile skin is flexible. It can be made into a magical armor."

To his surprise, Lu Mei wasn't impressed. She shook her head and said, "I'm about to reach the high-tier level. Making it would only produce a mid-tier magical armor, and it would cost a lot. Forget it."

"However," she smiled, playfully poking Lu Jun's forehead. "You're thoughtful for once."

Lu Jun's heart raced as he recalled his sister's lap pillow from three months ago.

As everyone finished collecting the materials, they became idle. A large truck arrived, sent by an ordinary soldier to collect the materials, which would serve as proof of their military contribution.

Just as Tang Yue was about to speak, her expression changed. She opened her communicator to listen, then closed it with a grim look. "This is bad. The crocodile demons from Huangpu are no longer heading this way. They're launching a full assault on another dam."

"They've already broken through the defenses and are heading toward the city outskirts. We need to send reinforcements."

Everyone looked at each other. The demons weren't stupid. If they couldn't break through here, they'd go for the weak spots.

One of them asked, "What should we do? Continue holding the line, or help out? If we go to reinforce, this place will be left unguarded. What if we're ambushed?"

Hearing this, Tang Yue hesitated.

Lu Jun suddenly said, "Why don't we leave three or four people here? Me, you, and sister should be enough. Even if another thousand crocodile demons come, we can handle them. No need to waste manpower."

Everyone's eyes brightened. They had noticed Lu Jun's strength during the battle, and they trusted him. It was clear he could handle the situation alone.

The leader of the military mages gave Lu Jun a deep look, then decisively said, "Alright, let's do that. Keep the communication open, and if we can't hold on, we'll request reinforcements."
