At this time, on the naval warship, naval soldiers were reporting to Sengoku.
"Vice Admiral Sengoku, we have successfully shaken off that pirate ship."
Sengoku nodded with satisfaction. "Well done."
However, Sengoku didn't know that the pirate ship had actually been following them from a distance, and they hadn't noticed it.
In the blink of an eye, two days passed.
Marco, who was observing from a distance with a telescope, suddenly shouted, "Stop, stop, those navy have stopped!"
On the Grand Master's chair, Larson looked at Plank in the distance and asked, "What's ahead?"
Plank hurriedly took out the map he had bought for 100 Baileys on the island and studied it. "It seems we're approaching the Kingdom of Alata."
Larson raised his eyebrows and murmured, "Never heard of that."
"What are those navy doing all the way out here?"
"No matter what they're doing, let's go over and take a look; we'll find out," Whitebeard said, taking a swig of wine.
Larson remained silent but smiled at Marco.
At that moment, Marco suddenly felt an ominous premonition in his heart.
He asked warily, "What do you want me to do?"
Larson smiled. "Kid, go to the island and find out the purpose of those navy."
Marco's Phoenix Fruit gives him the ability to fly, making him the perfect person to gather information.
Whitebeard glanced at the navy ship in the distance, thought for a moment, but remained silent.
Although he was worried that Marco might be in danger, from what Larson had said earlier, he understood that Marco must face some dangers to grow.
Marco raised his head. "Okay!"
As he spoke, the cyan flames on his body transformed into a pair of wings, and he flew into the air towards the island in front of him.
Watching Marco's disappearing figure, Larson also stood up. "I'll follow you and take a look. I'll leave this place to you."
Of course, he couldn't really let Marco go there alone. What he had just said was just for Marco to hear; it was a part of his training.
Larson's Sharingan had already spotted Sengoku in the navy. To prevent any accidents, it was safer for him to follow.
It can be said that Larson genuinely had good intentions in order to save the Whitebeard Pirates from the misfortunes they faced in the original timeline.
Blue flames enveloped Larson's body. This fruit ability was exactly the same as Marco's. Even though he had seen it many times, Whitebeard was still secretly surprised.
This ability to copy other people's powers and use them at will was truly terrifying.
In an instant, Larson surged into the sky and vanished.
Although this ability was copied from the Sharingan, Larson was more proficient in using it than Marco.
In terms of speed, Larson far surpassed Marco, primarily because Larson's body was much stronger.
As he looked at the outline of the islands in the distance below, Larson's heartbeat began to accelerate.
This was the first time he had experienced the sensation of flying. How could he describe it? It was thrilling and enjoyable!
The Sharingan's ability could only be used to copy powers once a day, and the animal-type fruit's transformation could last a maximum of 10 minutes. To make the most of these 10 minutes, Larson ramped up his speed. Far away, he saw Marco land on the ground not far from the navy ship.
He thought for a moment but decided to fly towards the center of the island instead of descending.
Normally speaking, as long as Marco didn't provoke them and kept a safe distance from the navy, even Sengoku shouldn't be able to catch him.
For the time being, Larson didn't need to worry about Marco's safety. He wanted to uncover the true purpose of the navy's presence on the island. The scale of the fleet was something Larson had only seen a handful of times in anime.
Curious, Larson soared over the island to observe, and soon he noticed something was amiss.
He saw that the towns on the island were filled with smoke, the air was thick with noise, and the sounds of fighting echoed endlessly.
"Is there a rebellion here?"
Seeing this, Larson immediately understood the situation on the island. He then noticed a navy unit approaching the town. After a moment's thought, he controlled his descent and landed quietly not far from those navy soldiers.
On the ground, this naval vanguard team held their weapons, scanning the area with vigilance.
Suddenly, a rustle in front of them made everyone feel as if they were facing a formidable enemy.
"Don't be afraid; it's just a beast."
The navy breathed a sigh of relief and continued forward.
Unbeknownst to them, one member of their team was missing.
On a branch nearby, the naval soldier looked at Larson with despair written on his face.
At this moment, his neck was gripped tightly by Larson, rendering him unable to make a sound.
"Answer my questions carefully, and I can let you go if I'm satisfied."
Larson narrowed his eyes and asked, "What is the true purpose of your navy coming to this island?"
As he spoke, he loosened his grip slightly, allowing the marine to speak.
The navy soldier looked horrified and replied, "There is a rebellion occurring on this island. We have received orders to come here to quell the rebellion."
Quelling the rebellion?
Larson sneered inwardly. Could it be that simple if the navy were sent out by Sengoku?
He tightened his grip again, and for a moment, the naval soldier felt a wave of suffocation. He sensed his life force ebbing away, weakening his limbs.
Larson released him once more and asked coldly, "I'm giving you one last chance to tell me the true purpose of your navy's mission."
"I... I really… don't know."
Looking at the navy before him, whose breathing was growing weaker, Larson couldn't help but frown.
He didn't believe that a small navy could remain strong in the face of death, which meant they might not have lied to him.
But Larson also didn't trust what the navy had just said. This indicated that quelling the Flat Top Rebellion was merely their superficial mission and there were more important operations behind the scenes that the naval soldiers might not be privy to.
"Who is the officer in charge of your mission?"
"Zephyr, Vice Admiral Sengoku."
"Who else?"
"He's the only one left."
Larson nodded. If he wanted to learn the true purpose of these navy ships, he would have to follow Sengoku.
