There are hundreds of pirates in the Labelle Pirates. To better manage them, these hundreds of people are divided into five teams, each consisting of about twenty members.
When John arrived outside the island, he immediately called for people to organize manpower and prepared to lead them back to Louge Town.
On the other side, Rakuyo had also walked out.
He came to a small shore where twenty or thirty loyal followers had gathered.
"Boss, how did it go?" one of the men asked about Rakuyo results.
Rakuyo gritted his teeth and said, "I want to quit the Labelle Pirates. Those who want to continue to follow me can do so; I won't say anything to those who want to stay."
Everyone looked at each other in confusion, not understanding why Rakuyo wanted to leave suddenly.
"Boss, we'll go with you!" they soon decided. They had been with Rakuyo for years, and their loyalty to him was greater than their bond to the Labelle Pirates.
"Alright!" Rakuyo said, a touch of emotion in his voice. "Go back and get ready. We'll leave in the evening. Everyone gather here then!"
"Yes!" Rakuyo subordinates hurried off to prepare, but Rakuyo didn't notice that one of them sneaked into Labelle's cave.
The sky gradually darkened, and soon the time agreed upon by Rakuyo arrived.
When Rakuyo returned to the meeting place, he saw that the area was already filled with people.
"Everyone..." Rakuyo hesitated, realizing that Labelle was among the crowd.
Labelle sneered and said, "Rakuyo, you're not taking me seriously. You actually want to betray me!"
Seeing this scene, Rakuyo instantly understood he had been betrayed, but by this time, he had become very calm.
"It's not a betrayal; we simply don't see eye to eye," Rakuyo replied calmly. "I've decided to leave the Labelle Pirates. Are you here to prevent me from doing so?"
"Stop you? No, no, no!" Labelle shook his head with a smile. "In the Labelle Pirates, we can always come and go as we please. We never force anyone.
If you want to leave, no one will stop you. But why do you want to take my crew with you?"
As he spoke, the pirates behind Labelle parted to reveal the sight beyond them. Those who had promised to join Rakuyo were all unconscious on the ground, and their condition was uncertain. The state of the bodies made it clear they had just suffered greatly.
Rakuyo became enraged. "Labelle, they have been with you for so many years, and you don't care about your old bonds at all!"
"Old bonds?" Labelle scoffed. "I only see these white-eyed wolves trying to betray me."
"Didn't you say that the Labelle Pirates can come and go freely? They can leave whenever they want!" Rakuyo retorted through gritted teeth.
"That's true," Labelle replied. "But you are different from them. You joined the Labelle Pirates later. Everything they have done since setting out to sea was because of me. Without me, they would have lived out their lives in a small mountain village, knowing nothing else. If they lack gratitude, then if they want to leave the Labelle Pirates, the consequences are theirs to bear!"
Labelle understood that he needed to maintain his dominance in the surrounding waters. If he allowed Rakuyo to take people away, it would weaken his crew.
In reality, Labelle had no interest in keeping those who planned to leave with Rakuyo; he knew that after knocking them out, they could not be loyal to him. He wanted to frighten others like Rakuyo who were considering leaving. This is what clamping down on dissent looked like. Those pirates would likely think twice about quitting after witnessing this fateful example.
"You are hopeless," Rakuyo heart boiled with anger. He set down his luggage and unsheathed his two swords.
Labelle looked on disdainfully. "Rakuyo , do you really want to do something to me?"
As he finished speaking, countless pirates began to emerge from the surrounding jungle. These were the reinforcements that Labelle had ambushed in advance.
The moment these pirates appeared, Rakuyo found himself surrounded, and among them was John, who hadn't had time to leave.
Labelle smirked. "I know you're strong, but do you think I would come here without guarding against you? I advise you to give it up. Even if you are strong, can you take on a hundred people?"
Rakuyo replied calmly, "Labelle, there's something you don't know, right?"
"What?" Labelle inquired.
Rakuyo suddenly grinned and said, "To avoid attracting the Navy's attention, I've been hiding my strength on purpose. Now that I've decided to leave, I don't have to hide it any longer."
The pirates around him suddenly hesitated to step forward, their confidence shaken by Rakuyo's claim.
Labelle sneered. "Don't believe him; he's lying."
"You'll find out if he's lying soon enough," one of Labelle's pirates said, stepping forward with a raised sword aimed at Rakuyo. However, the air flashed with silver light, and before anyone could react, the pirate's head had already fallen to the ground.
"What? What?!" Labelle's eyes widened. At that moment, he hadn't even seen Rakuyo's movements clearly. Now, he was certain that this wasn't the same strength Rakuyo had displayed before.
This guy had really been hiding his power!
Labelle finally had to admit the truth, but then fear gripped him as he worried that Rakuyo might kill him.
"Come on, don't just stand there. Whoever can take down Rakuyo, I will make him the captain!" Labelle shouted.
The surrounding pirates, previously cautious, rushed forward at that command. Although they had been frightened by Rakuyo's how of strength, their numbers gave them courage. With so many against him, even if Rakuyo was strong, it would be impossible for him to defeat them all. What if luck was on their side, and Rakuyo was killed? They feared that they would find themselves without prospects in the future.
Even with this rationale, seeing their fellow pirates fall one by one at Rakuyo hands was enough to shake the resolve of those charging forward.
