Chapter 9: (VIA) Chapter 9: I Love Watching Women Fight!
In the end, both cans of food went into W's stomach. Viego felt that since he had no appetite, it might mean his internal organs had stopped functioning. If he ate anything, there was a high probability that he wouldn't be able to digest it or excrete it. If the food really did rot inside his body and start to stink… then his life in this other world would probably be over.
That kind of thing, I absolutely don't want!
The night in the wilderness was very boring. It was tedious, yet filled with hidden, latent killing intent everywhere. But fortunately, Viego didn't need to sleep and could stay alert all night—never mind drowsiness, he couldn't even feel the slightest fatigue. He could only feel a spiritual desolation and boredom.
W was already asleep with her eyes closed. With no one to bicker with, Viego looked up at the sky, then down at the ground, even counting how many blades of grass there were by his feet. When there was really nothing left to look at, he reluctantly turned his gaze to W and began to count how many hairs were on the woman's head.
This crazy woman, W, when her eyes are closed, she looks quite like a normal person. At least, if a stranger were to come now, they would probably never imagine that this woman might just jump up in the next second and stuff a bomb into someone's mouth.
W opened her eyes impatiently. "Viego, can you f*cking stop looking? Let me get some rest. You may not sleep, but I have to!"
"Sorry, W." Viego raised an eyebrow. "I didn't expect you to be so sensitive, that you can't stand it just from me looking at you."
W sneered and drew the dagger from the sheath on her leg. "Viego, is there something on your body you don't want anymore!"
"What?" Viego was stunned. He watched as W held the dagger and stabbed towards his crotch, and he quickly got up to dodge. "W, you crazy woman! You really dare to stab me? What if you injured me!"
"It's not me who'll be impotent anyway." W was just giving Viego a warning. She sheathed her dagger and closed her eyes again. "If you dare to look at me again, I'll f*cking gouge out those stupid eyes of yours!"
"Alright, W." Viego was compliant, not forgetting to add, "Although I wasn't looking at you, just counting your hair."
...
After that, the night passed peacefully.
The moment the first ray of sunlight appeared on the vast wilderness, illuminating the land, W opened her eyes on time. She sat up and looked at the blades of grass beside her, which had been pulled out from the ground and were now arranged neatly on the ground, root by root. She looked at Viego with an indescribable expression.
"Viego, are you so bored you've become an idiot?"
"I am," Viego replied. "It must be because you haven't washed your hair or showered in so long that I've absorbed too much salt, W."
W, while packing her bag, sneered, "Are you saying it's my fault that you've become an idiot?"
Viego shook his head and sighed, staring at W with concern. "Only an idiot can infect another person with idiocy, W. You may not be aware of it, but you are the source of it all."
W shouldered her backpack and glanced at him. "You should be glad I don't have morning temper, Viego."
"So should I thank you for the mercy of not blowing me to smithereens, Miss W?"
"What the hell is that form of address?" W shivered and rubbed the goosebumps that had risen on her arms. "Don't let me hear that address from your mouth a second time, or I'll rip your mouth off!"
"Alright, W," Viego shrugged. "You're the creditor, you call the shots."
A moment later, W was still standing there, showing no signs of leaving. Viego's gaze gradually became puzzled. "W, are we not leaving?"
"Just follow me, don't ask so many questions." W stared at Viego unpleasantly. "I have morning temper. If you dare to ask me any questions at this time, I can't guarantee the bomb in my bag won't end up in your mouth."
"You just said you didn't have morning temper," Viego muttered. Seeing that W still had no intention of leaving, he simply squatted down on the spot and continued to pull out the blades of grass one by one. W glanced at him, feeling more and more that Viego was like one of those morons who squat at the entrance of a village and play with cement. But on second thought, she felt that if she didn't let him find something to do, she would definitely be driven mad by his endless questions, so she decided to leave him be.
Let it be. At least for this period of time, she wouldn't have to hear the three words "but why" again. Thinking of this, W felt her mood improve considerably.
After waiting for a moment, W sensed something and looked to the east, the direction of the sunrise. A tall figure was walking towards them with its back to the sun.
"W, where are the people you brought?" A strange, cold female voice asked with a hint of vigilance.
"Oh? You mean those mercenaries who wanted to join us? Someone attacked us in the night. Those people are all dead now. You can't blame me for that, can you?" W's voice, filled with a smile, carried a hint of indifference, giving off a sense of cold disregard for life.
Viego, who was squatting on the ground, looked up and suddenly felt a sense of being watched. He got up and stood next to W, looked at the suddenly smiling W beside him, and then looked at the black-haired female mercenary in front of him who was now fixing her gaze on him.
"Who is this?" the woman with the cold expression asked. The vigilance in her gaze as she looked at Viego slowly turned into confusion and strangeness in the next second. She looked at the neatly arranged blades of grass on the ground, then looked at W, a complex expression on her cold face. "W, why did you pick up an idiot...?"
The cold woman named Ines, she tried to use her Originium Arts to check the white-haired man's mind, but was surprised to find that the feedback from her Arts was only a piece of nothingness. Her face showed surprise, but her heart grew even more vigilant.
"?" W was silent for a moment. She actually thought Viego's behavior was like that of a pure idiot, but just because she thought so didn't mean Ines could call him an idiot like she did. So she smiled and spoke, her raised eyebrows full of passive-aggression. "This is the first time I knew Captain Ines had so many things to worry about. How about you help me scrub my back when I shower tonight, lest I accidentally hurt myself?"
"?" Viego frowned and looked at Ines unhappily. "Miss, I'm warning you, don't think you can just insult people because you have long legs!"
W glanced at Viego beside her, already cursing him a hundred times in her heart for being a dead pervert with a leg fetish. So all this time you were just fcking looking at this woman's long legs?!*
He has a clear mind… that means my Originium Arts didn't really work, but were misled, or perhaps blocked by some kind of power… Ines's vigilance reached its peak. She looked at W, her hand, hanging by her side, already gripping the spiral dagger at her waist.
"W, give me a reasonable explanation."
"Haven't I already given you one?" W did not back down, also drawing the dagger from her leg, a dangerous beauty in her smile as she said, word by word, "Who I bring with me is none of your damn business."
