Chapter 173: Arriving at the Emperor's Birthday - 5!
"Wait!... Isn't that old man an emperor realm cultivator?"
A cultivator from the middle tier seat, stood up and yelled in surprise, pointing at the unknown old man, walking without any pride in him.
"Really? Then why is he walking like that?"
The crowd couldn't help but wonder at his defeated walk and crouched posture.
"Huh? Why does he have so many cultivators following him?" The princess also wondered in a low voice, rubbing her chin in thought: "He shouldn't even have a need for cultivators since he can't even participate in the fight for succession."
"What does he want to accomplish?" She couldn't wrap her mind around his intentions.
I could understand her worries.
This was her big day where she would be making her debut in the fight for the throne.
If the Ninth prince was going to pull some stunt, that would ruin her debut.
At this moment, The dragon that had carried the Ninth prince and the Dragon Emperor to the arena, transformed and turned into a human.
Gasp!
Multiple people gasped at this sudden transformation, only having heard of it.
The dragon turned into a lean, elegant man with long black hair and gold draconic eyes.
This man then walked to the side of ninth prince, accompanying him to his gallery.
The dragon in human form, chatted with the ninth prince casually along the way, showing their friendly relation to each other.
"What do they want to display? Is he really trying to show his influence right now?" The princess gritted her teeth in anger.
"Maybe it is just unintentional? The dragon may be is just curious about the ninth prince since he is his friend's grandson." I guessed in order to calm the anxious princess.
"Yeah, that must be it!" The princess agreed to my reasoning: "What other reason he'd have to follow ninth brother instead of going to the Dragon emperor?"
"You are wise, your highness!" I complimented her on her reasoning.
She calmed down, waiting for the last arrival.
And it wasn't long since in just a few minutes, the flying ship arrived.
A petite girl, with a sword hanging to her waist, took the lead. Her hair was white and eyes a shade of chestnut brown.
She was the tenth princess, Fang Ruxi.
She had just turned eighteen and today her awakening ceremony would be performed in this event.
Her mother accompanied her along with her grandfather and their clan.
She had a hostile expression on her face as if trying to protect herself by showing a hostile personality.
They went to their gallery and settled down, waiting for the emperor's arrival, along with everyone.
He was the main character of this event after all.
The chatter once again began in the arena as they waited for the emperor.
Mainly, the conversations were regarding the Princes and Princesses.
At this moment, A sudden chime entered my ears, seemingly approaching the arena.
Everyone present had their heads turned towards the entrance since we knew what this chime indicated.
Soon, in the sky appeared a silhouette as the chime once again resounded in everyone's ears, this time more clear.
"The Emperor is making his entrance! Welcome him!"
A loud, ear-piercing announcement reverberated in the arena.
Everyone in the crowd and in their galleries stood up from their seats before kneeling on one knee, showing respect to the emperor except the royalty and the four sacred clan heads, they simply bowed their heads.
Once again the chime reached our ears as a loud ground-shaking thud sound reverberated in the arena.
Everyone raised their heads to look at the emperor's regal figure.
However, our eyes widened as soon as we witnessed the scene in front of us.
A huge, massive, blue lightning bull had just descended at the entrance of the arena.
From the top of it, two figure slowly descended to the ground.
The one in the front was the emperor.
[Picture in the para comments].
His long, flowing silver-blue hair cascaded behind him like a celestial river, his piercing azure eyes carrying the weight of an emperor's authority.
Clad in imperial robes of deep sapphire, adorned with golden embroidery that shimmered with traces of daoist runes, he embodied the majesty of the heavens.
Upon his broad shoulders rested a fur-lined mantle, regal and imposing, while his ornate crown, inlaid with divine crystal shards, crackled with faint traces of qi.
Trailing slightly behind him was the Grand Minister, his most trusted confidant and one of the Nine Celestial Sovereigns.
Clad in subdued yet dignified robes, his eyes gleamed with wisdom, his every step exuding an aura of unshakable loyalty.
Despite his reserved demeanor, those who truly understood the depths of the court knew that he was not merely an advisor but the sharpest blade in the Emperor's arsenal.
As the Emperor landed upon the jade platform at the heart of the arena, the entire coliseum fell into a deafening silence.
The cultivators bowed their heads, the nobles knelt in reverence, and even the most prideful of sect leaders dared not raise their eyes.
A herald, his voice trembling with awe, finally broke the silence.
"All hail His Majesty, The Emperor! May his rule be eternal! May the heavens bow before his might!"
Thunderous cheers erupted, shaking the very heavens. Yet, amidst the grandeur, the Emperor remained unmoved—his expression calm, his gaze unfathomable.
His presence alone was enough to command absolute respect, and in that moment, all who witnessed him understood why the heavens had chosen him to rule.
The Emperor raised his hand, and the arena fell silent once more, the weight of his gesture enough to command absolute obedience.
"Today," the Emperor's voice boomed, deep and resonant, filling every corner of the arena, "we celebrate not only my birth but the unity and strength of our empire. Let this day be a testament to our glory and a promise of our eternal reign."
The Grand Minister stepped forward, his voice a thunderous counterpoint to the Emperor's: "Let the event begin!"
