Now Ashen knew why the emperor and everyone was so shocked to know that it was the monkey king's staff.

Ashen's eyes lightened up. This was the best time in the session where he'd get to ask questions.

"Grandfather Taizhen, I want to know about the master of my spirit, the monkey king. Can you tell me about him?" Ashen asked with a curious smile.

His reasoning was simple.

Trying to know about your spirit wasn't suspicious and since it was an eight-star spirit, there could only be one in the world.

If there was a legend about it, anyone would be curious to know about it.

The first elder also found his request reasonable.

"Young Lord, I'll try my best to tell you all that I know about the monkey king." The first elder said before starting.

"Actually, he is not from our world but from some other land we don't know about. According to the legend, there was another cultivator who received the same spirit as you a long time ago."

"What? Really?" Ashen was surprised to know that.

The first elder nodded and continued: "Yes, this person was an unparalleled genius of his time. He advanced in cultivation very fast compared to others thanks to his 9-star spirit and eventually became invincible in this world. Not long after, he advanced to the immortal realm and ascended to heaven!"

"This person is more commonly known by his title 'The Eternal Great Sovereign!' "

"He was given this title because of his unparalleled strength and invincibility. It is said that he was strikingly handsome and had the largest harem in the known history. Almost half of the world's population are said to be his descendants, but don't judge him based on that."

"It is a long legend and I'd recommend you to read it yourself. We have a copy in the library. Moreover, The session time is over." The first elder spoke with a smile.

Ashen nodded in understanding.

After taking his leave, Ashen went to the library and began reading the legend.

The book was titled 'The Legend of the Monkey King'.

Ashen opened the book, reading the first page that was mostly empty with text written in the center of the page.

"Listen well, mortal (or whatever you are), for I am the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, Sun Wukong, the Handsome Monkey King! My story is one of triumph, wisdom, and unparalleled greatness. Let me enlighten you with the tale of how I, the most magnificent being in all existence, came to be."

Ashen, surprised, exclaimed: "Oh, This is from the monkey king's perspective."

He turned the page, beginning to read further.

"I was born from a stone, a miracle of the heavens and earth, destined for greatness. From the moment I opened my eyes, I knew I was no ordinary being."

"I became the king of the monkeys on the Mountain of Flowers and Fruit, not because I sought power, but because my people recognized my brilliance and chose me as their leader."

"I was their protector, their champion."

"But I yearned for more—not for myself, but to ensure that no one could ever oppress me or my kind."

"So, I sought out the great Taoist master Subhuti and learned the secrets of the universe. I mastered 72 transformations, the cloud-somersault technique, and countless other divine arts."

"Why? To defend the weak and stand against tyranny, of course."
