Jason spread his hands, a smirk playing on his lips, "Why? Do I look like the type of person who doesn't plan anything carefully?"
John shook his head solemnly, "Not likely. But even if I escape, what can I do? Between the police and my enemies—most of whom are professionals—it's only a matter of time before I get caught or killed."
"Then surrender to me." Jason said confidently, "I can guarantee your safety."
John raised an eyebrow but didn't move a muscle, "Why should I believe you?"
"Because." Jason replied with a sly grin, "I'm the first person in history to successfully escape from Long Island Prison."
At that, John finally opened his eyes and stared at Jason, studying him intently. After a moment, he rose from the bed, his eyes alight with determination, "Alright, I'll trust you."
Jason chuckled, "Good. You won't regret it."
[System Notification: Villain accomplice 'John Wick' successfully recruited!]
[Source: John Wick]
[Abilities: Driving Proficiency (Level 5), Cold Weapon Proficiency (Level 5), Combat Proficiency (Level 6), Firearms Proficiency (Level 8)]
Jason's brows furrowed in surprise as he glanced at the stats.
Level 8 Firearms Proficiency?
He was stunned. With Level 6 firearms skills, Jason could already dominate most police and gang confrontations. Level 8? That was on an entirely different plane.
The duo returned to Billy's cell only five minutes after Jason had left.
Billy sat cross-legged on his bed, looking bored. At his feet lay Wesley, barely conscious, his upper body red and swollen like a roasted pig. His face twisted with pain, the toll of inhumane torture evident.
Jason raised a brow, "What's the situation?"
Billy shook his head in mock disappointment, "This guy's a lightweight. He caved in less than a minute."
Jason was taken aback, though secretly relieved. He had pummeled Wesley nearly to death without breaking him, and Billy had cracked him in under sixty seconds.
Every profession truly has its specialists.
Wesley's swollen eyes fluttered open, his expression lifeless but pleading for mercy.
Jason crouched down beside him, "Tell me everything you know. Out of respect for our years of 'friendship,' I'll make it quick."
Wesley's lips trembled, and he spoke weakly, "Kingpin... New York Harbor..."
Jason's eyes narrowed, "Why is he at the harbor so late instead of sleeping in his mansion?"
Wesley coughed, his voice barely audible, "A few days ago, Kingpin sent me to Mexico to negotiate with a cartel. After earning their trust, I secured the right to distribute ecstasy in New York."
He paused to catch his breath before continuing, "Tonight, the first shipment arrives at the harbor. It's a huge load, so he's overseeing it personally."
Jason pressed further, "Last time, I intercepted Kingpin's convoy and found nothing but daily supplies. Where were the real goods hidden?"
Wesley hesitated before revealing the truth, "It was a diversion. The supplies never left the city. They're hidden in warehouses at the harbor—seventeen containers in total."
Jason blinked, momentarily stunned, then allowed a smug smile to creep across his face.
Seventeen containers? That's Kingpin's entire fortune.
Jason aimed his pistol at Wesley's forehead, his expression cold, "In your next life, don't follow men like him."
Wesley nodded weakly, gratitude flickering in his swollen eyes, "Thank...you."
Bang!
The gunshot echoed through the cell. Wesley's head slumped sideways, lifeless.
[System Notification: Killed James Wesley (plot character). Gained 500 villain points. Progress: 5140/7000.]
Billy grinned as he stood, "Guess I passed the test, huh?"
Jason nodded, "Yeah, you passed."
"Thanks, boss!" Billy replied, flashing his sharp, white teeth.
As the group made their way toward the control room, they encountered a firefight. Seven or eight prison guards were shooting relentlessly at a reinforced door. The iron gate, riddled with holes, was barely holding.
Jason and John exchanged a glance, raising their weapons simultaneously.
In a flash, they unleashed precise shots, each bullet finding its mark. The guards dropped one by one, unable to react in time to the two expert marksmen.
[System Notification: Killed 3 prison guards. Gained 300 villain points. Progress: 5440/7000.]
[System Notification: Accomplice 'John Wick' killed 5 prison guards. Gained 500 villain points. Progress: 5940/7000.]
Jason kicked open the battered door, revealing Harleen crouched in the corner with twin pistols in her hands.
"Honey!" Harleen's tense expression melted into relief as she rushed toward Jason, throwing her arms around him.
Jason patted her shoulder comfortingly, "It's okay. It's over now. I'll handle everything."
After calming her down, Harleen grinned mischievously, "I've got a gift for you."
Jason's gaze followed hers to a bloodied figure on the floor—Daniel, a guard, on the brink of death from blood loss.
Jason raised his gun, "No need to drag this out."
Bang! Bang! Bang!
[System Notification: Killed 1 prison guard. Gained 100 villain points. Progress: 6040/7000.]
Descending to the second floor, the group encountered chaos. Armed prisoners and guards clashed viciously, but the tide of battle had shifted. The prisoners now held the upper hand, having obtained weapons from fallen guards.
Suddenly, a tattooed man in prison garb spotted Jason and turned crimson with rage.
"Jason! You bastard! You slept with my wife—"
Bang!
A bullet tore through his throat mid-sentence.
Harleen smirked, lowering her smoking gun.
[System Notification: Accomplice 'Harleen Quinzel' killed a prisoner. Gained 100 villain points. Progress: 6140/7000.]
John chuckled approvingly, "Nice shot."
Harleen grinned, "Not bad, huh? Think you can do better?"
Jason's jaw dropped, "Harleen, you want to compete with him?!"
John smirked politely, "I don't mind a little friendly competition."
Jason facepalmed, "Fine, count me in. But don't say I didn't warn you."
The trio grabbed weapons and descended into the fray like wolves among sheep.
