Chapter 1076: Where's The Weakness?
Villain Ch 1076. Where's The Weakness?
Allen's mind raced. His attacks had barely scratched the Guardian, and brute force clearly wasn't going to be enough. 'There has to be a weakness,' he thought, quickly reassessing the situation. These creatures weren't mini-bosses, but they were clearly designed to require more than raw power to defeat.
'Does this thing have a core?' Many RPGs had creatures with cores or weak points that needed to be targeted to inflict real damage.
Determined to figure it out, Allen backed away from the Guardian, his eyes scanning the statue for any sign of a weak spot. The towering stone figure lumbered forward, its headless form eerily silent as it raised its sword once more. Its body, though seemingly slow, moved with deliberate, unstoppable momentum.
Allen's gaze darted over the stone surface—looking for cracks, runes, or even a faint glow that might indicate a vulnerable area. But there was nothing. The Guardian's stone body was solid, unblemished, and gave no indication of any core or weak point.
'Damn it,' Allen thought, frustrated. 'There's no core, no obvious weakness. What am I missing?'
The second Guardian, the one with the broken sword, began to close in from the other side, its heavy footsteps echoing through the chamber. Time was running out, and Allen couldn't afford to waste it on ineffective attacks.
"Allen! You okay over there?" Shea called.
"All good! I'm just trying to figure out how to take them down," Allen called back, his voice tense but focused as another attack came down from the second Guardian—the one wielding the broken sword. The giant statue moved with surprising speed for something so massive, and Allen had to roll out of the way just in time to avoid being crushed.
"Do you need our help?" Larissa's voice cut through the din of battle, her blood tendrils still holding the perimeter against the endless horde of cursed priests and monks.
"I can handle them," Allen said. His eyes never left the two towering statues as they lumbered closer, their stone forms relentless. "I just need to figure out what to do..."He muttered, more to himself than to the others.
The sword-wielding Guardian swung its massive blade again, and this time the tip of the sword smashed into the stone floor with such force that another crack splintered through the ground. The shockwave from the impact sent a gust of air whipping past Allen, but he didn't flinch. Instead, he saw an opening.
Quickly, Allen jumped onto the huge sword, using its flat surface as a platform to run straight toward the Guardian's neck. With a powerful leap, he drove his own sword into the stone at the base of the statue's neck, hoping to find a weak point. His blade pierced the stone, but the damage notification flashed across his vision with disappointing results.
[You have stabbed a Goddess Guardian for 212 HP]
The damage was larger than before, but it was still barely a scratch against the Guardian's immense health pool. The massive HP bar barely moved.
"Damn it," Allen growled under his breath, gripping his sword tightly as the Guardian shook its body violently, trying to dislodge him. He clung to the blade embedded in the statue, using all his strength to stay on top, but it was becoming clear that this approach wasn't working.
Just as Allen was about to pull his sword out and reassess, his eyes caught a movement from the corner of the room. The second Guardian—the one with the broken sword—was charging straight toward him, swinging its jagged weapon with all its might. The attack was aimed right at Allen, and the sheer force of the swing was enough to shatter stone.
Realizing the danger, Allen acted quickly. He yanked his sword free from the first Guardian's neck and jumped off, landing nimbly on the ground just as the broken sword came crashing down. But instead of hitting Allen, the attack slammed into the first Guardian—the sword-wielding one—right where Allen had stabbed it moments before.
The result was immediate and catastrophic.
The broken sword cut deep into the first Guardian's stone body, and this time, the damage was enormous. The impact shattered part of its neck, and a third of the Guardian's HP bar was wiped out in an instant.
Allen's eyes widened in realization. 'That's it!'
He quickly understood the strategy—these Guardians were built to withstand direct damage, but they weren't immune to each other's attacks. If he could keep them attacking one another, he could take them down without having to chip away at their immense health bars himself.
A smirk crossed Allen's face. "So, that's how it's done."
Without wasting a moment, he sprang into action. The realization that these towering stone Guardians could damage each other was all he needed to devise a new strategy. He wasn't going to rely on brute force anymore—this was about positioning and manipulation. He would make the Guardians do the work for him.
Allen dashed toward the first Guardian, the one still wielding a massive sword. The creature moved with slow, deliberate power, but its sheer size meant that any misstep on Allen's part would be fatal. Its sword swung again, cutting through the air with a whooshing sound that echoed throughout the chamber. But Allen was already on the move, his quick reflexes keeping him one step ahead.
He sidestepped the Guardian's strike, his eyes darting between both massive stone figures. The second Guardian, the one with the broken sword, was lumbering toward them again, its weapon raised and ready to strike. This was the key—he needed to time the attacks perfectly to pit the two statues against each other.
"Come on, just a little closer," Allen muttered to himself, his boots skidding across the cracked stone floor as he maneuvered around the first Guardian. He knew he needed to get the broken sword Guardian into position for another direct hit.
The sword-wielding Guardian brought its blade down with incredible force, aiming to crush Allen where he stood. But he was ready for it. Just before the sword hit the ground, Allen jumped onto the massive blade again, using it as a platform. His body moved with precision as he ran along the flat edge, dodging a wide arc of stone that cracked beneath the Guardian's strike.
