Villain's Valor: A Noble Fantasy Resurrection

Chapter 172 Former glory

Boom!!!

Eleanor's shining sword gleamed with a red glow surrounded by crimson flames. The snowflakes around her melted at an incredible speed, while the air itself seemed to vibrate with the intensity of her power. Her imposing stature moved with supernatural grace amidst the battlefield, her dominant presence in the snowy landscape with her beautiful red hair.

After walking for several hours in search of shelter for the night, they finally found a cave. However, they realized it was infested with F-rank creatures, weak compared to them but still numerous, crawling along the ceiling and floor like cockroaches. Eleanor and Adelaide decided they wanted to take charge, and Anthony simply nodded without any issue.

Eleanor's red hair billowed in the wind as she lunged at the creatures. As a high-level swordsman, she demonstrated her prowess with every move, wielding her sword with lethal precision. With a simple touch, she coated her sword with a dark, reddish aura, generating intense heat that seemed to scorch everything in its path.

Despite the intense heat emanating from her sword, Eleanor remained impassive—she was in her element. On the other hand, Adelaide moved her hands, green substance oozing from them. She could manipulate it at will, and every time it landed on a creature, it let out a shrill cry, melting on the spot—it was acid, it could even produce venom.

Her hands touched the acid directly, yet they remained as white and delicate as ever. She too was in her element.

As the cave was somewhat dark, Anthony only needed to move his mana and generate tentacles as he crushed them all, but they wanted to take charge, so Anthony simply shrugged.

Charlotte's POV

Charlotte was visibly upset at that moment, her cheeks slightly puffed up with resentment. She glanced at her team members with a disgusted expression, noticing the absence of the boy she wished was with her. In his place stood Edward Ironforge, the team leader, alongside his teammate Daniela Frostine.

Edward and Daniela's presence only heightened Charlotte's frustration, who puffed up her cheeks even more in discontent. Daniela caught Charlotte's discomfort and, with a concerned gesture, addressed her, "Are you upset, Charlotte?"

Charlotte's gaze wandered around the environment surrounding them—a desolate desert, the worst possible environment for them. Charlotte preferred the cold to the heat, and she knew that Daniela, as an ice-affinity mage, was even worse off. The situation wasn't ideal for her companion.

Upon hearing Daniela's question, Charlotte hesitated before responding honestly, "I wanted to be in the same group as Anthony."

Charlotte's response caused Daniela to roll her eyes, while Edward remained silent as he looked at the vast desert in front of them.

Emily's POV

With her scarlet red eyes, Emily carefully observed her surroundings, marveling at the beauty of the meadow surrounding them. They were surrounded by a variety of flowers in vibrant colors, with small mountains in the distance and a nearby forest. The weather was pleasant, and the scent of flowers filled the air with the perfume of spring.

Even further away, she spotted some edible animals, confirming they had lucked out with the place they had landed in. Discover more stories at My Virtual Library Empire

Ezequiel, the team leader, was also admiring the landscape, with a radiant smile of confidence on his face. Next to him was Alicia, another of his teammates. They all fell silent for a few moments, absorbed by the serenity of the surroundings.

Suddenly, Ezequiel broke the silence with an enthusiastic greeting. "Hello!" he exclaimed warmly. He knew the women in front of him were high-level nobles, and he wanted to start off on the right foot. "My name is Ezequiel. I hope we can get along," he said with a warm and sincere smile.

Emily's red eyes focused on Ezequiel for a moment before nodding calmly. "Yes," she replied calmly, showing her willingness to work as a team. Meanwhile, Alicia, being the more talkative of the two, engaged in lively conversation with Ezequiel.

However, Emily's thoughts were on her brother. She wondered where he would be, and deep down in her heart, she longed to reunite with him to face each other in a fight to the death, if those were the rules, so there was nothing wrong with it, she thought internally.

Leopold's POV

Gracefully walking through the forest, a beautiful woman with blonde hair attracted the attention of the animals that crossed her path. Every step she took was full of elegance, and her golden eyes radiated a natural affection towards the creatures that approached her. Squirrels, hedgehogs, and rabbits gathered around her, captivated by her presence.

The woman, Alexandra Benedetto, crouched down with a warm smile and embraced the small animals, who responded with affection and trust. Butterflies fluttered joyfully around her, adding a touch of magic to the landscape. Her white cloak enveloped her with an almost ethereal purity as she continued her interaction with nature.

Behind her, two boys followed. One of them, with his hands behind his head and green hair, seemed bored and even yawned from time to time, showing his lack of interest in the surroundings. The other boy, with pink hair, looked angrily at the boy next to him, clearly annoyed by his indifferent attitude.

Leopold Flowerly, the boy with pink hair, felt frustrated and gloomy. He couldn't understand why he had such bad luck. They had been stuck in the same place for five long hours, doing nothing but watching Alexandra interact with the forest animals. Although some of the animals were edible, Leopold didn't dare to approach any, feeling a strange reluctance.

Leopold's expression darkened even further as he contemplated the situation. He desperately needed to improve his position in the rankings, and being on a team with Alexandra, despite her natural charm, was not turning out to be as beneficial as he had hoped.

Leopold felt the weight of his family's history on his shoulders. He longed to restore the lost honor and greatness of his lineage, bringing his surname to new heights as his ancestors had done in times past. His deepest desire was to return his family to its former glory and reclaim the tenth position among the ducal families, a place they had lost years ago due to lack of a head of the house.

He clenched his fists with frustration at his current situation.
