Early the next morning, Grim had already reported to Novak.
Novak gave him a brief glance before speaking directly, "You have two choices. The first is to return with me to De M-anila and serve under the gathering place. The second is to stay in San Redro and take over the forces left behind by Kong. Which one do you choose?"
Grim was momentarily stunned by the proposition. After some thought, he responded without hesitation, "Boss, I'll choose the second option!"
Novak nodded, unsurprised by Grim's decision. Such was the way of the world—'better to be the head of a chicken than the tail of a phoenix.'
He tossed a complete set of equipment to Grim. "Then do it well," he instructed.
In truth, Novak wasn't overly optimistic about Grim's potential. Just because Kong had risen to prominence in a previous life didn't guarantee Grim would follow the same path. But Novak had no particular attachment to him.
Turning his attention to Meimei, who had just woken up after sleeping for an entire night and half the day, Novak grinned. "Time to go!"
Without waiting for her reaction, he picked her up and leaped from the building.
As Novak disappeared into the distance, Grim exhaled, feeling a weight lift from his shoulders. The pressure that Novak exuded was terrifying. Watching the man leap from the building, carrying Meimei, and glancing at the equipment lying on the ground, Grim was filled with mixed emotions.
'Could he ever become as powerful as Novak by following him?'
He didn't know, but having made his choice, there was no point in doubting it now.
Meanwhile, Novak, carrying a now fully awake Meimei—her cheeks flushed—arrived at the gate of the residential complex.
"Brother Novak, please put me down!" Meimei protested.
Novak glanced at her, a playful smile on his lips. "If I put you down, how long do you think it would take for us to get back to De M-anila? Could you even keep up with me?"
Meimei waved her tiny fists in defiance. "Don't underestimate me! I've just awakened a new talent skill!"
Novak raised an eyebrow in surprise. "Oh?"
A few days ago, Meimei's only innate ability had been the power of 'Dream,' which was already terrifying on its own. The ability to enter dreams, combined with her natural 'Dreamwalker' talents, made her a formidable force capable of performing extraordinary feats.
And now, she had awakened a new skill?
Excitedly, Meimei nodded. "I've recently developed my dream powers to a higher level, and my spiritual power has surged! It's now at 50 points, and I've gained an additional skill from my dream development!"
"Oh?" Novak's curiosity was piqued. Any SSS-grade talent had incredible potential, and 'Dreamwalker' was an ability he had never encountered before. Naturally, he was eager to learn more.
Having grown closer during their journey, Meimei didn't hesitate to share her talent map with Novak.
And there it was—Meimei's new skill:
[Dream Shuttle (Talent Skill): When connected to a dream, you can transform from virtual to real, appearing beside the dreamer in the physical world. Cooldown time is determined by the transmission distance and the user's spiritual power.]
'The Fuck?!'
Novak stared, dumbfounded.
Why did it always seem that just when he thought his own talents were strong, Meimei would come along and blow him away with something even more outrageous?
'Dream Shuttle?' he thought. 'Why not just call it fixed-point teleportation!?'
Meimei's ability already had similarities to the infamous abilities from the horror movie 'A Nightmare on Elm Street.' But now, this new skill was even more absurd. 'Dream teleportation?' How OP do you want it to be?
Wait a minute...
Novak's eyes suddenly lit up with excitement. He turned to Meimei, his voice filled with urgency. "Meimei, can your teleportation ability affect other people?"
Meimei nodded. "As long as they fall into the dream at the same time as me, it works. Why, Brother Novak?"
An unbelievable light sparked in Novak's eyes as he looked at her in disbelief.
This could be a game-changer!
If they could use this ability, he could teleport directly to Ian's location! He could even reach the mysterious plague-ridden chemical factory and find out whether it was connected to the next mission of the Plague Sect, as he suspected!
Originally, Novak had planned to return Meimei to De M-anila before embarking on a long journey to D-avao himself. That trip alone would take nearly a month, even with the fastest methods available, due to the countless dangers that lurked in the wilderness of the Faeloria Country.
But now... now, with this new dream ability, space and distance no longer mattered!
Long-distance travel and teleportation were within his grasp!
Apart from her somewhat limited combat capabilities, Meimei's 'Dreamwalker' talent was shaping up to be one of the most powerful SSS-grade abilities imaginable!
Novak exhaled slowly, realizing how drastically his plans had changed. Everything seemed so much easier now.
Looking at Meimei, who hadn't fully grasped the gravity of her new powers, Novak, in a sudden burst of joy, kissed her on the cheek.
In an instant, Meimei turned as red as a beet. "Ah... Brother Novak, w-w-w-what are you doing!?"
Novak just laughed heartily. Without another word, he picked her up again and resumed their journey to De M-anila.
However, not long after leaving the outskirts of the city, Novak came to a halt. He found himself standing in front of a familiar place—the demon village he had visited just the day before.
Now that his time was no longer limited, his previously tense nerves relaxed. He hadn't yet fully explored this Secret Realm—a secret realm that had been formed by the Demon Hunter job transfer scroll.
But with the power of the Gluttonous Face revealed, Novak knew this was an opportunity he couldn't pass up. If he could purify and enhance more bloodlines, this place might hold the key to furthering his evolution.
