Chapter 47: Naive and Beautiful Diana

After Diana agreed to help Norton hide, Norton found a place to conceal himself. Soon, a group of Amazon female warriors riding strong horses, armed with spears and bows, arrived at Diana's location. I have to admit, on Paradise Island, even the horses are all female.

"Diana, where are the intruders?" asked Antiope, the leader of the group. She was Hippolyta's sister and Diana's aunt. As the general of Paradise Island, it was her duty to defend the island and be prepared for any intruders.

"I don't know, I just rushed here, but there's nothing here," Diana replied with her usual expression, showing no sign of nervousness despite the situation.

Miraculously, the blessing bestowed by Hestia, the goddess of the hearth, which ensures adherence to truth, seemed inexplicably ineffective this time.

Antiope did not doubt Diana, believing that the distinction between right and wrong was always clear when facing invaders, but she was mistaken. Glancing at the calm sea, she thought for a moment and then said to the Amazon warriors behind her, "Go back, stay alert, and search all of Paradise Island for the intruder!"

She then dismounted and approached Diana, a smile on her otherwise stern face. "Diana, why didn't you come to train today?"

"I just wanted to walk here alone," Diana said, turning to enjoy the calm sea breeze.

"It's for your own good. You know you have to endure more rigorous training to protect yourself," Antiope suggested, assuming that Diana had escaped from training.

"Speaking of which, where were you when the intruder appeared?" Antiope didn't wish to dwell on the topic, so she shifted the conversation.

"I had just arrived at the shore and saw the intruder fall into the sea, but there was no further movement," answered Diana.

"Could it be that they drowned?" Antiope considered before shaking her head. "Impossible. If even the barrier didn't detect the intrusion, such a person wouldn't die so easily."

The magical barrier of Paradise Island had safeguarded it from outside interference for countless years. If someone invaded, the barrier would immediately alert Hippolyta in the palace. This time, they detected the intruder by sight alone, highlighting that, if unseen, the intruder might have posed an unknown danger.

"I need to inform your mother about this. Be careful," Antiope said seriously, then mounted her horse again and quickly left the coast.

Diana watched as Antiope's figure disappeared from view, and then she headed in the direction where Norton had left.

"It should be fine here," Norton thought as he found a cave and looked around. The space inside was neither too big nor too small. For daily necessities, he planned to ask the kind-hearted Princess Diana for help. However, he worried about being discovered. As long as he stayed on this island, he would be found sooner or later.

"You are here," Diana's voice came from behind him. She surveyed the entire cave and nodded in approval. "Are you sure you want to hide here? Our people have discovered this place, and you will be found sooner or later." For some reason, Diana felt concerned about the stranger before her.

"Thank you for your concern. I didn't think I'd have to hide for long," Norton replied, turning around and smiling at her. Suddenly, he had an idea and said, "Can I ask you to bring me some daily necessities?"

"No problem, but you have to tell me your name," Diana responded with a beautiful smile, placing her hands on her waist. Norton was taken aback for a moment. He expected Diana to make a more complex request, yet it was so simple.

"Definitely no problem, Your Royal Highness," he answered.

Having just been in the water, Norton lit a fire to keep warm. Although his body rarely caught a cold, his clothes were wet and uncomfortable. Sitting by the fire, they talked, and Diana was amused by some of Norton's jokes. They got along unexpectedly well.

"Thank you, Norton, you are the funniest person I have ever met. I am very happy," Diana said as she got up and walked toward the entrance of the cave. She looked back at Norton, "I will bring the things over this afternoon."

"See you later, Diana," Norton replied.

After Diana left, Norton sat on the ground and began to study the Space gem. He wondered about the difference between this Space gem and the one from the Marvel world. Norton touched his chest where the gem resided within him, merged into his being.

"Since this Space gem can bring me to the DC universe, it is better than the Space gem in the Marvel world," Norton thought. This means that returning to the Marvel world could be possible, and he could potentially travel between the DC and Marvel worlds in the future.
