Chapter 2650: Missing Technique Segment And People In Wait
"Hmm… How do I proceed from here?" Lin Mu wondered, feeling stumped.
He read the two techniques over and over again, yet he still couldn't find the common point to connect them.
'The stance is the same, but the mastery described by this author does not end in the same way. The initial stance also does not match up after reaching mastery… Did he drift from the original even for Bending Will Fists?' Lin Mu mused, his brows furrowing.
An hour passed, but he realized that this was not something he could solve in a short time.
'I'll have to resort to trial and error. The only way forward is to reach the same conclusion that the creator of this jade slip reached.' Lin Mu concluded.
He was determined to learn the Coiling Wind, Pressing Air Palm, as it was not only compatible with his fighting style but also a powerful technique.
It was composed of two distinct yet complementary parts: the Coiling Wind Palm and the Pressing Air Palm.
The Coiling Wind Palm allowed one to generate powerful wind currents with sheer physical might, similar to the Bending Will Fists but on a much greater scale. At full mastery, it could release spirals of wind capable of boring through solid rock.
The Pressing Air Palm, on the other hand, was more direct. It utilized raw force to push air in a concentrated, straight-line burst from the palm. The sheer power behind it could leave deep palm imprints on steel plates several inches thick. One could only imagine the devastation it would cause to a body of flesh and blood.
Both techniques suited Lin Mu's combat style perfectly, and he speculated that fusing them with his body cultivation could elevate their power to an entirely new level.
"I suppose this is a good enough gain from one library," Lin Mu muttered, making his decision to leave.
There were still many other places to explore, not to mention actual shops that specialized in selling techniques and skills.
'Those should be even more valuable since they are being sold for a price.' Lin Mu thought as he descended the stairs.
The fifth floor remained as empty as ever. Even after a week, not a single person had come up, reinforcing just how rare it was for individuals to access the VIP-only section.
However, when he reached the fourth floor, he was immediately met with curious gazes. The presence of another person descending from the fifth floor naturally drew attention. His steps alerted the cultivators around him, and whispers broke out.
"Who is he? He just came down from the fifth floor."
"He must be a noble if he has access up there."
"Or maybe a high official?"
"No, I know all the high-ranking officials in the city. He's not one of them."
"Most likely a member of a noble clan using their clan's access."
Lin Mu overheard every word, but he paid no heed to their speculations. He continued walking toward the third floor, unaware that a man had started following him.
While he sensed the movement behind him, he didn't assume it was directed at him, believing it to be just another person leaving the library.
"Please come again, sir!" The library staff greeted him as he exited.
But as soon as he stepped outside, he spotted a small group of people waiting near the entrance. His eyes narrowed slightly, recognizing the distinct robes they wore.
'Aren't they… from the Bending River Axe Sect?'
There were five of them. Four wore the same robes as Chiji Ou, while the fifth had a more elaborate design. His outfit was adorned in blue and gold, but a prominent axe emblem decorated his chest, marking his higher status.
SIGH
"They can't be that petty, can they?" Lin Mu muttered under his breath.
"You! We've been waiting for you for a week!" The man in the lead bellowed, anger lacing his tone.
Lin Mo let out a chuckle. "Yes, they're that petty."
"You wasted so much of our time. Do you think just because you belong to some noble clan, you're untouchable?" The man sneered.
"I never asked you to wait for me," Lin Mu replied nonchalantly.
"What audacity!" One of the men spat.
"You stand in the presence of Jilin Tu, a Core Disciple of the Bending River Axe Sect!" another declared.
Lin Mu responded by palming his face in disappointment.
"To what do I owe this pleasure?" he asked, sarcasm evident in his tone.
"You dare ask? You injured an inner disciple of our sect!"
"Yeah! You injured Senior Brother Chiji Ou!" The others echoed, their voices filled with indignation.
"And what do you want?" Lin Mu asked, still unimpressed.
"You will break your own arms and legs, then allow us to escort you to the sect for judgment!" Jilin Tu declared smugly.
Lin Mu raised an eyebrow. "And what if I say no?"
"Then we'll do it ourselves!" Jilin Tu roared, launching himself at Lin Mu.
His palm shot up, rigid like a blade, as he brought it down in a vicious chop aimed directly at Lin Mu's head. A blue axe-shaped energy manifested around his hand, radiating lethal intent.
"Going straight for the head? Weren't you just talking about breaking limbs?" Lin Mu scoffed as he easily sidestepped the attack, leaving behind a streak of clouds in his wake.
"He dodged it?!" The disciples gasped in disbelief.
Having trained under the Saintess, Lin Mu's Cloud Dragon Stride had reached a level where dodging such attacks was effortless.
"Hmph, you won't escape this time!" Jilin Tu growled, raising both arms before slashing downward in a cross motion.
Twin blades of water-qi erupted from his hands, slicing through the air at terrifying speeds, sealing off Lin Mu's escape routes.
FWOOSH!
But once again, Lin Mu vanished with Cloud Dragon Stride, reappearing behind the group of disciples before they could react.
"Attack him! All of you!" Jilin Tu roared in frustration.
The other disciples immediately charged, weapons drawn. One wielded a crescent axe, another a heavy mace, while the remaining two utilized short-bladed hatchets designed for fast, lethal strikes. Continue reading at My Virtual Library Empire
