Chapter 11: Chapter 11: Sabo’s Tears! Ace Is Our Brother!
"What~"
"Well well~~~"
"Sabo... turned into two?!"
The girl's voice, full of surprise and emotion, echoed through the meeting room.
She looked at the Sabo from two years ago at the door, then at the Sabo standing before her now.
The short-haired beauty Koala was completely stunned.
No matter how she looked, the two Sabos were exactly the same.
"Little Sabo, what on earth is going on?"
Eastern Army Commander Belo Betty's beautiful face was filled with shock.
"Sabo, did you somehow learn the Clone Technique?"
Western Army Commander Lindbergh's eyes widened.
"Or is this some kind of Devil Fruit ability?" Karasu speculated with a frown.
"No, no matter what I do, both of them feel like the real Sabo. I can't tell them apart at all!"
The giant okama Morley held their head in frustration, completely at a loss.
At that moment...
Even the Sabo from two years ago, who had already joined the meeting, was utterly shaken. His mouth gaped open in disbelief.
After a moment, the Sabo from the past slapped himself on the chin—
Only then did his jaw snap shut.
His eyes flared with intensity as he glared at his future self.
"Who the hell are you?! An imposter trying to pretend to be me—what are you after?!"
The Sabo from two years ago shouted angrily.
"Wait a second, Sabo-kun... you're saying that's not you?" Koala exclaimed.
"Of course not, Koala! I think I'd know myself, wouldn't I? I've never eaten any kind of fruit that can create clones. That's definitely an imposter, trying to steal confidential intel from the Revolutionary Army!"
He spoke with conviction.
Upon hearing this...
The gathered Revolutionary Army officers tensed up, serious expressions taking over their faces.
Their instincts told them:
The Sabo from two years ago was the real one.
As for the other...
Although incredibly similar, there were subtle differences.
"Caught red-handed! Today, you won't escape!"
"Sire Dragon, give the order to apprehend the imposter!"
The younger Sabo stared coldly at his future self.
He was only waiting for their leader's command to take action.
At last—
The brilliant leader of the Revolutionary Army, Dragon, finally broke his silence.
From beginning to end, even when two Sabos had suddenly appeared at once, his face hadn't changed a bit.
And now, facing both Sabos, he reacted in a way no one could have predicted.
"Sabo. Everyone. Calm yourselves for a moment and let's hear what this Sabo has to say."
Dragon's voice rang out, and the others could only nod.
"Sabo, you may speak."
Dragon looked at the older Sabo.
"Yes."
The future Sabo nodded firmly, his gaze sweeping across the room.
"Everyone, what I'm about to say might sound unbelievable—but everything I say is the truth."
"First of all, regardless of whether it's that me or this me—we are both the real Sabo!"
He spoke calmly.
"Ha! Don't be ridiculous!" the younger Sabo said, shaking his head in disbelief.
"I know it's hard to accept, but I am actually you—two years in the future! I've come back in time from a world two years ahead!"
With that, the future Sabo began to explain everything.
He told them how he had crossed through time—and why.
He had already decided before setting foot on this island: to save Ace, he needed a ship, and more importantly, the power of the Revolutionary Army.
If it was only his voice, his warning alone would be like a drop in the ocean—utterly insignificant in the face of the war to come.
He didn't yet know that two-years-later Luffy had also arrived in this timeline.
So the only reinforcements he could think of... were his comrades in the Revolutionary Army.
After hearing his unbelievable story, everyone in the meeting room fell into stunned silence.
Even Dragon, the ever-calm commander, twitched slightly at the corners of his mouth.
"Two-years-later Sabo traveled back to two years ago... is that even possible?"
Koala murmured in disbelief.
"I... honestly don't know," Belo Betty admitted.
"But my instincts tell me—both versions of Sabo are real!"
Karasu said with conviction.
"I... I feel the same," Koala added.
"So, is this the power of a Devil Fruit that allowed future Sabo to travel back here?" Lindbergh guessed.
"No... that's not quite it," future Sabo shook his head.
"Time only moves forward. It can't be reversed. That's what I understand about time-related Devil Fruits."
Dragon nodded solemnly.
"Dragon is right. If I had truly traveled back in time, it would've completely disrupted the flow of time. So I believe this is a parallel timeline—what I crossed into is another version of two years ago."
Future Sabo drew two lines on a sheet of paper.
"Originally, we were like two parallel lines that were never meant to meet. But now, I've arrived at a different version of the past."
"So it's a parallel world?" Lindbergh, the Revolutionary Army's science expert, caught on quickly.
"But why?" the younger Sabo still didn't understand. "Why would that version of me want to go back in time just to take part in the Summit War and save some random division commander from the Whitebeard Pirates?"
"What does this Ace guy even have to do with me? Why should I risk my life for someone I don't know?"
He shook his head firmly.
BAM!
The older Sabo suddenly stepped forward and grabbed the front of his younger self's shirt.
"No! You're wrong! Take that back right now!"
He was visibly trembling, voice rising in anger.
He looked like he wanted to punch himself.
When he had seen the news of Ace's death in the paper, it had triggered the return of all his lost memories.
He had hated himself for forgetting—wishing desperately he could have remembered sooner.
But in the end... that punch never landed.
Not only because Koala stopped him...
But because he had seen the tears welling up in his younger self's eyes.
"Ah... so strange. Why... why am I crying? Ace... Fire Fist Ace... Why does hearing that name hurt so much?"
Tears streamed down the younger Sabo's face.
"Because Ace is our brother!"
The older Sabo shouted, his eyes red.
"Wake up, two-years-ago me!"
