Chapter 125: Chapter 98. The Infinite and Crimson Rivalry

Black Flash stood atop the shattered ruins of the battlefield, his piercing gaze locked onto his prey. Around him, the once-mighty leaders of the Biblical Faction lay broken, bloodied, and defeated. The air was thick with dust and the metallic scent of blood—a testament to the sheer devastation that had just unfolded.

A low chuckle echoed from behind his mask as he stretched his arms, the gesture dripping with arrogance.

"Are you guys done already? Boring~ If this is the best you have to offer, conquering this world will be easier than I thought."

Serafall Leviathan, the once-proud Demon Lord, struggled to her feet, every movement laced with pain. Her demon armor, once pristine, was now cracked and stained with her own blood. Her breath came in ragged gasps, but despite the overwhelming pain, she refused to bow.

"This... isn't over, Black Flash!" she spat, her voice filled with defiance, yet laced with exhaustion. "If this is all you've got, don't think you can conquer the world so easily!"

Black Flash smirked beneath his mask, crossing his arms lazily. The sheer amusement in his voice was maddening.

"How sad~ Who said I was even trying?" He tilted his head mockingly. "Magic was never my forte, yet look at you, Devil. I'd say... I'm using about 7% of my power. No, no… maybe 5% at best?" He let out a dramatic sigh. "You guys are strong, I'll admit that… but only by this world's standards. Not mine."

His words cut deep. Serafall's fists clenched, her nails digging into her palms, but her body was too battered to strike back. No one had ever humiliated her like this.

A few meters away, Sirzechs Lucifer forced himself upright, a weak but determined aura of Destruction swirling around him. His crimson eyes burned with resolve as he steadied himself to defend his comrades.

"You won't get away with this," he growled. "You are a threat to this world, and no matter the cost—we will eradicate you!"

Black Flash let out an exaggerated yawn, before laughing mockingly. "Oh, Womp-Womp~ That's cute. What's this? Barking like a dog as your last resort?" He cocked his head, feigning concern. "Why don't you go call your daddy or mommy to save you? Oh wait... Maybe I should just send a gift to your 'True Leader'? How about a nice, steaming bowl of bat soup, made with Cing-Cong's secret recipe?"

The insult was like a slap to the face.

Sirzechs' aura flared violently, the very ground trembling beneath them. "You… Monster!" he roared, fury overtaking reason.

But Black Flash wasn't done. He clapped his hands mockingly, his tone dripping with sarcasm. "Boohoo~ Are you mad? 'Cause I am! Hah! Come at me, pussy, if you dare!"

His annoying gestures, his taunting smirk—it was all designed to infuriate them. And it worked.

Sirzechs lunged forward in rage—

"Stop!"

A strained voice cut through the chaos.

Michael, the leader of the Angels, was kneeling, his divine energy flickering weakly. He had barely survived Black Flash's devastating attack. Never, since the Great War, had he felt such hopelessness. His golden eyes, usually full of divine certainty, were now clouded with unease.

"Don't fall for his provocation... This man is far more dangerous than any of us imagined."

Black Flash merely smirked.

"Finally, someone who gets it. But too late, Angel-boy. The fun's just getting started."

The Hero Faction, a group dedicated to reviving the Age of Heroes, constantly sought out individuals with extraordinary potential. Under the leadership of Cao Cao, they pursued the descendants of legendary figures—humans blessed with incredible power. However, their latest interest was something… different.

A man with no famous bloodline. No known Sacred Gear. Yet his presence alone sent ripples through the supernatural world.

A human capable of crushing the Evil Dragon Crom Cruach.

A man standing side by side with a dangerous creatures such as Elder Dragon—Fatalis itself.

This was Black Flash.

Georg adjusted his glasses, his sharp eyes never leaving the battlefield. "What do you think of him, Cao Cao?"

Cao Cao's gaze was unreadable as he crossed his arms. "Black Flash… A human who took down Crom Cruach and wields Destruction Magic on par with Sirzechs Lucifer. And let's not forget—he fights alongside the Black Dragon, Fatalis." His fingers tapped against the hilt of his spear. "He could be useful. But he is undoubtedly under that dragon's influence. Our first priority… is finding a way to sever that connection."

Heracles grunted, arms crossed over his massive chest. His sharp eyes never left the battlefield. "Are you sure he's a pure human? Not some Half-Blood like the bearer of Albion? I mean… did you see what he did? He used Sirzechs Lucifer's Destruction Magic—no ordinary human should be capable of that. There's got to be Devil blood in him."

Jeanne scoffed, crossing her arms. "Bloodline or not, he's a menace. His attitude is awful, and he clearly doesn't take orders from anyone." Her expression soured. "Besides, he's not the only human in this battle. What about the others?"

Heracles turned to her with a raised brow. "Which one?"

"Take your pick," Jeanne replied with a flick of her wrist. "Some of them… barely qualify as human anymore. But there's one that stands out." She lifted a finger, pointing toward a particular warrior.

Unlike the chaotic, destructive force that was Black Flash, this man radiated an entirely different presence—one of calm strength and unwavering resolve.

Shin.

A man who fought not just for power, but for the people around him. His aura was unlike anything Jeanne had seen in a human before—pure, radiant, almost saintly. Even angels would be hard-pressed to match such light.

"He's different," Jeanne continued. "Unlike that monster Black Flash or those other freaks—Garou, Gilles… Shin is an actual human warrior. And more importantly, he cares about his comrades." She glanced at Heracles. "He's exactly the kind of person we should recruit. Not some lunatic tainted by that Elder Dragon."

Heracles chuckled. "Hah! Admit it—you just like him because he's handsome."

Jeanne clicked her tongue, glaring at him but saying nothing.

Georg adjusted his glasses and turned toward Cao Cao. "So, what's the plan?"

Cao Cao smirked. "For now, we observe."

He folded his arms, watching the battlefield with calculating eyes.

"If they survive, we'll approach them—one by one. If they have something to offer the Hero Faction, they might become our greatest assets."

Georg frowned. "And if they refuse?"

Cao Cao's smirk darkened.

"Then we have no choice but to eliminate them." His tone was cold, final. "Rejecting us… is a betrayal of humanity."

"Kazuma, it's about time."

"Huh? What do you mean by that?" Kazuma raised a suspicious brow. "I always knew you were crazy, but this is a new level!"

"Shut up and play along, Dumbo." Satria smirked. "You do want to experience what it's like to be an overpowered protagonist, right?"

Kazuma took a cautious step back. "Okaaay, and how exactly are you planning to do that?"

Satria's grin widened. "With the Power of Friendship!"

Before Kazuma could react, Satria dramatically closed his eyes and chanted, "Papipapi Poom!" A dazzling white light exploded around him.

"Heartguard."

In an instant, he vanished—only to reappear beside Kazuma… in chibi form.

Kazuma stared at his now pint-sized companion, eyes wide.

"...What the hell, man?!"

Satria puffed out his tiny chest. "Behold! My new adorable yet powerful form!"

A beat of silence.

Then Kazuma burst into laughter. "PFFFT! WAHAHAHAHA! Oh my God, you look like a walking plushie!"

Satria's eye twitched. "I may look small and cute right now, but don't judge a book by its cover, Lolizuma! I can still bite!"

With a tiny but mighty fist, he chopped Kazuma right on the head.

"Ouch!" Kazuma yelped, rubbing the sore spot. "The hell, man?! Don't just hit people!"

"That's what you get for laughing at me!" Satria huffed.

Kazuma sighed, shaking his head. "You know, to this day, I still don't understand where you get this unshakable confidence from..." He shot Satria a deadpan look. "And I seriously question the sanity of anyone who calls you 'adorable'."

Satria crossed his tiny arms, pouting. "Well, joke's on you—I am adorable."

Kazuma facepalmed. "This is my life now... I hate you so much."

[Defeat the Leader of the Biblical Faction]

Evil Spirit: "Wow~ Looks like this bad boy of mine is really enjoying his role. And now he even has a chibi form? How adorable~ It makes me want to lock him up in my room just for myself."

Kuroneko: "No 😾! I won't allow it, Kurumi-san! He's mine before he's yours!"

Evil Spirit: "Oh? How about we settle this with a little competition? Winner gets him for a whole day."

Kuroneko: "Deal. We'll settle this later at home."

Esdeath: "Fufu, you two are quite close, aren't you? The passion of today's youth is truly something."

Robin: "Kazuma was right. I'd rather deal with Gotham's worst criminals than try to handle him."

God of Hope: "What kind of mess has this problematic child created now? And with them of all people?"

Pervert Sage: "You know these guys, brat?"

God of Hope: "Yes. They're the leaders of the Biblical factions. Quite powerful, too."

Pervert Sage: "How strong are we talking? Compared to the people in our world?"

God of Hope: "They're at least on the level of the Kage—possibly stronger. I respect some of them for trying to create peace, but..."

Ruby: "That's an admirable goal. So why is the admin clashing with them?"

Pervert Sage: "If they're that powerful, and Satria-kun still handled them alone… He really is a miracle among miracles. Sure, he acts like a fool, but he's far from it. Knowing him, there's more to this than just picking a fight."

King of Knights: "Agreed. Despite his jokester persona, he has certain qualities I can't deny."

Esdeath: "They should count themselves lucky his personality is like this. From what I've seen, he's not trying to finish them off—just teaching them a lesson."

Evil Spirit: "Exactly. According to what he told me in private, this is all because of Kiyohime-san."

Spider-Man: "But is it really necessary to go this far? It feels excessive."

Evil Spirit: "Too far? If anything, Satria's being too nice to them. Let me ask you this—what would you do if someone you loved defended herself against a criminal trying to make her a slave, only to be punished by the country where the criminal came from? And to make it worse, they accused her of being the villain instead?"

Ruby: "..."

Robin: "..."

Spider-Man: "..."

Pervert Sage: "No wonder he went after them. He has every right to be angry. Is slavery actually legal there?"

God of Hope: "According to my wife Kuroka, slavery is common in the supernatural world."

Kuroneko: "Disgusting. Anyone who tolerates slavery deserves to die!"

Esdeath: "..."

[Ding! Group Quest Active]

[Help @White Lady escape the Great Elroe Labyrinth and defeat the Earth Dragon, Araba]

[Participants required: 3]

[During the mission, time in participants' worlds will be stopped]

Esdeath: "Hm… Who's joining this mission?"

Ruby: "Is this Labyrinth really that dangerous?"

White Lady: "Unfortunately, yes. One mistake, and you're dead. I wouldn't recommend anyone from this group risking their lives for this."

Evil Spirit: "Can I join? There's something I need to test. Also, how about we settle our competition during the mission, @Kuroneko?"

Kuroneko: "I don't mind. Family must stick together, after all."

Evil Spirit: "Fufufu~ Of course. Now, who's our third?"

Spider-Man: "I'll come along. We spiders have to stick together, right?"

Evil Spirit: "Ara~? Does Peter-kun want to impress Kumoko-san? I wonder what Baobhan-san would say about this~?"

White Lady: "Oh my~? Is that true, Peter-kun? I've heard from others that you're a famous and respected hero… and now you're helping me? You're making me blush~ 🤭."

Spider-Man: "N-No! That's not what I meant! I just want to help, that's all! Please believe me!" 😫

White Lady: "Relax~ I'm just teasing. I know you're a good guy, Peter-kun. And I really appreciate all of you helping me… I'm sorry for causing trouble."

Spider-Man: "No need to apologize! We're friends, and friends help each other."

Kuroneko: "Agreed."

Ruby: "Yup! It's the right thing to do!"

Evil Spirit: "Then it's settled! The slots are full, and we're ready to explore the Labyrinth."

Just as the leaders of the Biblical Faction began to catch their breath, a chilling wind swept through the battlefield, carrying with it an ominous, almost suffocating energy. The sky darkened, the ground trembled, and a sinister pressure weighed down on them.

A deep, sinking feeling gripped their hearts. The source of this overwhelming presence stood before them—Black Flash.

He slowly reached for his belt and drew a card, his voice dripping with malice.

"Now, you will know true despair. Don't resist the Darkness, little bat."

[Chemy Card: Sword Vent]

A pulse of dark energy erupted from the card, manifesting into a weapon unlike any other. A twisted, malevolent blade—the Darkness Sword—materialized in his grip. Forged from pure evil, it radiated an aura of death, its very essence capable of draining the life force of anyone who dared stand against it.

A shiver ran down Serafall's spine as she took an involuntary step back. "He... He is the true demon."

Michael clenched his fists, struggling to maintain composure. "This is bad... What do we do now?" He looked toward the other leaders, hoping for an answer, but found only silence and fear in their eyes.

"Calamity..."

The air grew heavier. The battlefield dimmed, as if even light itself recoiled from the darkness surging around Black Flash. He lifted the Darkness Sword, preparing to unleash destruction upon them.

"Really? You will kill them if this attack lands, puppy," Fatalis, his partner, warned in a rare moment of concern.

But Black Flash remained unmoved. His eyes gleamed with eerie certainty, as if he had already foreseen the outcome.

Just then—

A streak of motion cut through the battlefield.

Lord Kazuma.

Bolstered by Heartguard, he roared in defiance, his body surging with newfound power. He shot forward with speed that defied logic, his momentum amplified by the fragments of Satria's strength.

With a forceful lunge, Kazuma slammed into Black Flash, pushing him backward. His fist—powered by an unnatural force—crashed into Black Flash's chest, forcing him to stagger.

"...You finally move, huh? Shadow!" Black Flash snapped, shifting his focus to the so-called Lord of Gender Equality.

Michael exhaled in relief as he watched the tides turn. "Kazuma-san… Thank you."

Despite their exhaustion, Sirzechs and Serafall exchanged small smiles.

"Yeah," Sirzechs said, still catching his breath. "Thanks to you, we're safe… for now."

Kazuma, on the other hand, was still reeling—not from exhaustion, but from the sheer power flowing through his veins. The fraction of Satria's energy he had borrowed was intoxicating.

'This is insane…' he thought, his eyes wide with awe. 'You're telling me this guy walks around every day with this kind of strength inside him? I feel like I could take on the world right now!'

His lips curled into a grin as he took a step forward.

"Hehe… You're welcome." His confidence surged, his body still thrumming with energy.

He pointed a finger at Black Flash.

"Your reign of terror ends today."

His eyes burned with newfound determination.

"Prepare to face my wrath, Bastard!"

In the heart of Kuoh, beneath the flickering lights and the deep shadows cast by the encroaching night, two figures stood in silence on the rooftop of Kuoh Academy.

The first was a striking woman with flowing crimson hair, her very presence exuding both power and elegance. She carried herself with an effortless grace, but beneath it was an undeniable strength—one that had shaped worlds. Her amber eyes gleamed, reflecting wisdom accumulated over countless lifetimes.

Opposite her sat Ophis, the Void Dragon. Darkness itself seemed to gravitate toward her, curling at the edges of her being as if seeking approval. She exuded an eerie stillness, as if the very concept of time held no meaning for her.

"What are you doing here?" Ophis's voice was soft, barely more than a whisper—like leaves rustling in the stillness of a forgotten realm.

The red-haired woman merely smiled and raised a beer can, tilting it slightly as the liquid inside sloshed with the motion.

"It has a fleeting quality, like all things ephemeral," she mused, swirling the can thoughtfully. "But isn't that fleeting nature what makes it so appealing?"

Ophis blinked, her expression impassive. "I don't understand what you mean."

"Hohoho~" The red-haired woman chuckled, her voice rich with amusement. "The great Ophis, pretending to be clueless? Do you think I didn't notice?"

Ophis regarded her with quiet scrutiny. "Fleeting things rarely catch my attention." She glanced toward the battlefield below, where a certain man clad in black lightning moved like a phantom. "But lately, there is one who has."

The red-haired woman arched an elegant brow, leaning back slightly. "That human, yes?" Her smile widened. "The one you find 'interesting'... perhaps even attractive?"

Ophis said nothing for a moment, but a subtle gesture—barely a flicker in the air between them—confirmed the truth.

"Oh?" The woman's smirk deepened, a rare expression for her. "I never thought I'd see the day. Tell me, tell me—what's so special about him?"

Ophis's gaze sharpened, her voice carrying an unusual softness as she answered.

"For dragons like us, strength is everything. And he… is stronger than me."

The crimson-haired woman's eyes widened slightly.

"Stronger than you?" Her surprise was genuine.

Ophis nodded, but there was more to her words than just power. "But that is not what intrigues me the most. He possesses both shadow and light within his soul, yet embraces both as part of himself." Her voice grew quieter, almost contemplative. "When others have feared us, hated us, sought to control or destroy us… he did not. He accepted us. He called us family."

Her fingers tightened slightly as if grappling with something unfamiliar.

"It is… a strange feeling. New to me. When he says we are his, it… warms me." Ophis hesitated, then added almost awkwardly, "Also, his cooking is delicious."

The crimson-haired woman stared at her for a long moment before suddenly bursting into laughter.

"Hahaha! Ophis, the Infinite Dragon, has fallen for a human over his cooking? Oh, this is too good!"

Ophis narrowed her eyes.

"Laugh all you want, but it does not change the truth. If he can embrace both darkness and light without losing himself, he may become something… far beyond what we imagined."

The laughter faded into a smirk. "Now that you put it like that, I'm even more interested in meeting him."

Ophis's expression darkened. "You? Interested? I thought you only pursued women. And since when did you even identify as female?"

The red-haired woman playfully tossed her hair. "Unlike you, I know how to enjoy life, Ophis. I am both, neither, and whatever I choose to be in the moment. But right now?" She grinned, licking her lips. "I'm a woman, and I've never given my first time to anyone, you know? Because I've never met someone worthy of me. But if what you say is true… maybe he's my destined one, fufufu~"

A dark aura flared around Ophis as her expression hardened.

"No! You are a bad influence on my Alpha. Not only have you taken my home, now you seek to take my mate as well?"

The red-haired woman scoffed, folding her arms. "Tch. You lost to me in the past, so don't blame me for being stronger." Her smirk returned. "And who said I'm stealing him? I don't mind sharing with an old friend."

"No is no!" Ophis growled.

The red-haired woman laughed again. "Ohhh, you are jealous, aren't you? Come on, Ophis, admit it—you just don't want to lose to me again."

Ophis clenched her fists, her aura darkening further. "The current me is not the same as before. If words won't stop you… then prepare yourself, Great Red."

A gleam of excitement flickered in Great Red's eyes as she stepped forward, flames flickering along her fingertips.

"Oh? Then let's settle this the old-fashioned way, shall we?"
