What the hell is making games in the Ninja World?

Chapter 69: Chapter 59 : Official Version!!

In the blink of an eye, six days had passed since the Genjutsu Game launch event.

During this time, Uchiha Kai and his group of companions had finally resolved the issue of mass-producing the Genjutsu Game.

Previously, while mass production was possible, Uchiha Kai had to rely on others' chakra and Sharingan ocular power to create the sealing scrolls for the Genjutsu Game.

In terms of production efficiency, it wasn't slow. As long as the basic materials, chakra, and Sharingan were sufficient, up to 500 game sets could be made in a single day.

A "set" here referred to both Return Home and Fruit Ninja.

However, given the current popularity of the Genjutsu Game, the production output was still insufficient.

Moreover, Uchiha Kai was stuck in the production process himself, which was a significant waste of time.

Uchiha Kai had no desire to become a mere tool, so after upgrading his Sharingan to the two tomoe stage, he began experimenting with ways to enhance the production process.

After extensive research and upgrades, Uchiha Kai finally discovered a solution.

By creating an "archetype" of the game, others could use this archetype to copy and paste the games continuously, enabling assembly-line replication.

The highest control of the "archetype" remained in Uchiha Kai's hands. He could sense its location and manipulate it remotely through a direct link to his Sharingan.

If necessary, he could destroy the archetype with a thought.

Additionally, if someone severed his connection to the archetype, it would automatically trigger a self-destruction mechanism.

As a result, Uchiha Kai wasn't worried about it being stolen.

Once the archetype was created, Uchiha Kai was free from production duties. He handed the archetype over to the Uchiha Clan's workshop for manufacturing.

Many Uchihas with one tomoe Sharingan were assigned to the workshop to handle assembly tasks.

It might sound unfair to these Uchihas, but considering the harsh discrimination and suppression by the Konoha leadership, the Uchiha Clan had long struggled with limited employment opportunities.

Although they were a ninja clan, most clan members relied on internal clan industries for their livelihoods.

Moreover, the Uchihas assigned to the workshop were those who had recently awakened their Sharingan, often through playing the Genjutsu Game. These individuals were not previously ninjas.

Now that they had awakened their Sharingan, working in the workshop provided them with an opportunity to use their ocular power daily while training their Sharingan—a perfect combination of work and practice.

In fact, the Uchihas who were called to the workshop were quite enthusiastic. Their morale was high, fueled by the sense of "fighting for the great cause of the clan."

In summary—it didn't make much sense, but damn, it got exciting!

It's true that crazy people have the most fun.

And under these circumstances, the full version of Left 4 Survival was completed.

As promised from the beginning, two versions of the game were developed.

The first version was the one showcased during the press release. Players take on the roles of characters in the game, struggling to survive in a post-apocalyptic world.

The game characters were clearly divided by their unique abilities, with the total number increased to 16—eight male and eight female characters—split into eight specialties.

Some characters have healing abilities, some excel in close combat, others specialize in ranged attacks, some have high defense and thick health bars, some are extremely agile and fast, and others are highly perceptive, acting like human radars…

This setup divides the characters into eight distinct roles, significantly enhancing the game's playability and emphasizing the importance of teamwork.

It's specifically designed to challenge lone-wolf players.

Of course, if someone is skilled enough, lone-wolf players can also show off their abilities.

Uchiha Kai was looking forward to seeing Kage-level experts earn gold coins in lone-wolf mode.

He was also eager to see less powerful players with exceptional gaming skills resonate with large audiences through live streams, unleashing the so-called "golden spirit."

Yes, Uchiha Kai had built in a feature in Left 4 Survival where players could earn gold coins, ensuring that the game could still be enjoyable even if there weren't enough people to form a full team.

As for the second version of the game, it was a special edition exclusively for Konoha. In this version, players wouldn't play as game characters; instead, they'd play as themselves.

However, everyone's abilities would be limited to the level of a standard Genin. And this wasn't the kind of Genin like Uzumaki Naruto, who had cheats, but the baseline Genin stats officially recorded by Konoha.

When players enter the game, those below this standard won't change, but anyone above it will have their abilities suppressed to match the baseline.

This means even someone like Uchiha Madara, upon entering this version of Left 4 Survival, would only have the strength of a standard Genin.

This version was designed as a training tool for Konoha's ninja academy graduates and was exclusively provided to Konoha's officials.

In a secret training room within Konoha's Anbu headquarters, a group of Anbu ninjas exited the special edition of Left 4 Survival and knelt respectfully on one knee before Sarutobi Hiruzen.

Sarutobi Hiruzen smiled and nodded, clearly satisfied.

Earlier, the ANBU ninja followed the Third Hokage's orders and tested the Genjutsu game.

These ANBU were temporarily suppressed to the level of regular genin before entering the game to fight in that state.

The special version of "Survival Road" felt incredibly realistic.

Although it retained a health bar, injuries in the game vividly demonstrated what it meant for your health to drop to zero. Injuries to the arms or legs also directly impacted mobility.

In addition, a blue bar representing chakra levels was included, allowing players to monitor their remaining chakra at all times.

As a training tool for genin, this special version of the genjutsu game was exceptionally well-designed.

The smile on the Third Hokage's face as he watched the live broadcast was evidence of its effectiveness.

In fact, the ANBU who directly experienced the game also praised it highly. Although it wasn't particularly useful for jonin, it was an excellent training tool for genin.

It significantly improved teamwork, cooperation, and trust while compensating for the lack of real combat experience and exposure to high-stakes situations.

There was no doubt this could greatly increase the survival rate of genin and drastically reduce the cost of training them.

For any shinobi village, the benefits of this were evident to anyone with even a little insight.

"Uchiha… Uchiha, this time, you've truly given me something I can't refuse…"

Sarutobi Hiruzen couldn't help but sigh, though his face soon grew serious.

He knew it was time to meet the true creator of the genjutsu game—the young Uchiha named Uchiha Kai.

When something this influential to Konoha's future was introduced, the Hokage had no choice but to have a proper discussion with its creator.

After all, the boy's last name was Uchiha.

While the Hokage had tacitly allowed the Uchiha clan to proceed with this project, the astounding success of the genjutsu game left him unable to sit still.

And when the Third Hokage decided to meet someone, he was known for his decisiveness.

So, just half an hour later, Sarutobi Hiruzen stood in Uchiha Kai's home, a gentle smile on his face as he looked at the young Uchiha.

The news of the Hokage's visit to Uchiha Kai's house spread almost immediately to both the Uchiha clan's leadership and Konoha's upper echelons.
