What the hell is making games in the Ninja World?

Chapter 71: Chapter 61.1 : Hiruzen and Kai!!

Uchiha Kai, who was talking to Sarutobi Hiruzen, the Third Hokage, was unaware of the outside situation. He was fully focused on his conversation with Hiruzen. The two discussed many things.

What was supposed to be a conversation lasting half an hour ended up taking over two hours.

No one knew what they talked about in the room because there was a barrier separating them.

However, when Sarutobi Hiruzen left, his eyes showed a mix of joy, anticipation, and deep regret, his expression very complicated.

As Shimura Danzo, who knew him well, had said, Sarutobi Hiruzen came to speak with Uchiha Kai to discuss the Will of Fire, to gauge Kai's understanding of it, and to learn Kai's opinion as a Uchiha on the current state of Konoha.

It was essentially a mix of probing and relationship-building, while also trying to understand just how different Kai was from the other Uchiha.

Although Sarutobi Hiruzen had inherited the second Hokage's wary attitude and policies toward the Uchiha, he was never an extreme person, and he was very different from Danzo.

As Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen's thinking was different from that of the "Roots of Konoha" or the two Hokage advisors. He genuinely hoped that the Uchiha could integrate into Konoha. It would be ideal if they could fully integrate, just like the Senju clan did.

Unfortunately, the Uchiha's black-and-white thinking and the death of Uchiha Madara, a pro-Hokage leader, led to the Uchiha clan being in constant conflict with Konoha's higher-ups during the Third Hokage's rule.

At times like these, it would have been great if Sarutobi Hiruzen had political schemes like those seen in conspiracy theories.

With the Uchiha's black-and-white thinking, Hiruzen's political prowess, according to conspiracy theories, would have allowed him to control the Uchiha easily, using divide-and-conquer tactics to completely seize control of the Uchiha clan.

Unfortunately, Sarutobi Hiruzen didn't have such abilities. In terms of political skills, conspiracy theorists would rate him above 90, but in reality, his political ability was probably just barely at a passing score of 60—he probably needed to go study "thick black theory" with the nobility of the Land of Fire to improve.

So, all Sarutobi Hiruzen could do was follow the path of the Second Hokage and continue with a conservative approach to maintain stability and manage the relationship with the Uchiha clan.

The result was that, during his entire reign, the relationship between the Uchiha clan and Konoha was never great.

But that didn't mean Sarutobi Hiruzen had truly given up.

When Minato Namikaze, his direct disciple's disciple and a true genius of the Hokage faction, appeared and formed a good relationship with the Uchiha clan's future clan leader, Sarutobi Hiruzen knew the opportunity had arrived.

So, Sarutobi Hiruzen decisively chose Uchiha Obito, someone very different from other Uchiha and someone who dreamed of becoming Hokage, to be Minato's student.

He hoped that through the efforts of the Hokage master and disciple, the Uchiha clan could be fully integrated into Konoha.

Sarutobi even imagined a scenario where Uchiha Obito could become Hokage—don't say Obito was the dead last in the ninja academy and could never become Hokage.

In the past, Jiraiya was also seen as the weakest, but after growing up, he became the best Hokage successor in Sarutobi's mind.

This was clearly reflected in the original work multiple times, as Hiruzen truly wanted Jiraiya to become Hokage.

Unfortunately, Jiraiya was entirely focused on the prophecy of the toads and didn't want to become Hokage. This was why Hiruzen eventually chose Minato Namikaze as the Fourth Hokage in the original story.

If things had gone smoothly, Obito, as a Hokage's disciple, would have definitely become the Fifth Hokage in the future and led the Uchiha clan to fully integrate into Konoha.

However, fantasy is beautiful, but reality is harsh.

Sarutobi Hiruzen's hopes were completely shattered when Obito turned to darkness, and his crazy actions proved the Second Hokage's wisdom—that the Uchiha clan needed to be restricted and kept in check.

Of course, what happened in the original story doesn't matter much now. What's key is Sarutobi Hiruzen's complex feelings toward the Uchiha.

Faced with Sarutobi Hiruzen, Uchiha Kai directly affirmed the Will of Fire, as it is the core belief of Konoha.

For a political system, especially a military one, the core ideology must not be easily shaken.

Even if one disagrees, it cannot be denied—unless a more advanced theory, one that most people can agree with, is introduced to replace it.

Uchiha Kai expressed his support for the Will of Fire and openly showed that he hoped for the Uchiha clan to integrate into Konoha.

He emphasized that for the Uchiha clan, only a strong and prosperous Konoha is the best Konoha. The Uchiha clan and Konoha have always shared a fate; when one prospers, the other does too, and when one suffers, the other suffers.

Uchiha Kai directly pointed out that the Uchiha clan in the past couldn't understand all this, but now, under his leadership, the Uchiha clan was actively strengthening its ties with Konoha.

He didn't try to hide his intentions or play dumb. With Sarutobi Hiruzen's intelligence capabilities, it was clear he would be able to investigate a lot.

Moreover, since others had come to him for friendly talks, pretending to be ignorant and treating them as fools would only make him look foolish.

Uchiha Kai had no intention of hiding anything. Some things, especially wisdom, had to be shown directly to gain others' attention and respect.

Of course, most of what he revealed was based on what Uchiha Kai had learned from online debates and discussions with keyboard warriors in his past life.

Now, he simply adjusted the theories to fit the actual situation in the ninja world before presenting them.

In the past, Uchiha Kai had concealed his abilities because he lacked the means to protect himself.

Being too talented would only lead to trouble. But now, with the full support of the Uchiha clan and the friendship of Minato Namikaze, Konoha's most talented ninja, he no longer had to worry.

Unless Uchiha Madara, who was nearing death, disregarded his health and came to Konoha for a final confrontation, who could threaten him at this point?

Moreover, he had acquired a powerful protection technique—if provoked, he could make certain individuals experience the taste of "red stones" directly.

So, during their continued conversation, Uchiha Kai discussed many things with the Third Hokage, ranging from the desire for the Uchiha clan to integrate into Konoha to the need for a Uchiha to become Hokage for true integration.

He also directly pointed out the existence of genjutsu games, noting that in the future, many Uchiha would likely awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan.

In such a scenario, if no one within the Uchiha clan could become Hokage, even if they actively sought to integrate into Konoha, huge gaps and divisions would inevitably emerge again.

Sarutobi Hiruzen understood this but also felt deeply concerned.
