Chapter 217: A New Era
The grand ceremonies across the Cardinal World had come to an end. The Keepers, once rulers of their respective domains, had now chosen their successors. Each of them had undergone trials to prove their worth, and now, as the new rulers of their lands, they stood tall, ready to carry the weight of leadership.
But before the Keepers departed from their respective nations, they gathered one last time with their successors, bestowing upon them a final gift—a portion of their divine power, ensuring that they could govern not just with authority but with the strength needed to protect their people.
Rimuru stood before Benimaru, the newly appointed ruler of Tempest. The citizens, still overwhelmed with excitement from the grand ceremony, watched in awe as Rimuru raised his hand, blue-gold energy swirling around him.
"Benimaru," Rimuru said, his voice carrying the weight of responsibility. "You have proven yourself worthy of leading Tempest. As my successor, you must stand not only as a ruler but as a guardian of all those who call this place home."
Benimaru knelt before his former lord, his eyes resolute.
"I won't let you down, Rimuru-sama," he vowed.
Rimuru smiled and placed his hand on Benimaru's forehead, allowing his power to flow into him. A golden aura enveloped the new ruler, his strength skyrocketing as his very existence evolved.
Benimaru gained the title of "Infernal Sovereign: Lord of the Crimson Flame." His control over flames had reached a level beyond mortal comprehension, and he could now wield fire that burned through even concepts themselves.
The citizens erupted into cheers, but Rimuru merely stepped back, nodding in approval. Tempest was in safe hands.
In the frozen dominion of the Ice Continent, Guy Crimson faced his newly chosen successor—Gord. The land was silent, save for the cold wind that howled across the glaciers.
"You survived the trials," Guy remarked, arms crossed. "But ruling a land of demons isn't about brute strength. You must be cunning, ruthless when needed, and wise enough to keep order among those who thrive in chaos."
Gord bowed his head. "I understand, Lord Guy. I will not fail you."
Guy extended his hand, dark crimson energy swirling between his fingers. "Then take this. With it, you shall not only rule but be feared."
A surge of energy crashed into Gord, his very existence shifting.
Gord gained the title of "Abyssal Tyrant: The Monarch of Everlasting Night." His dominion over darkness and ice reached unfathomable levels, making him a force beyond comprehension in his territory.
The demons watched in awe as their new ruler stood reborn, his power surpassing even their wildest expectations.
The Dragon Kingdom was ablaze with celebration. The sky was filled with lightning and fire, dragons roaring in unison. Milim stood atop a stone altar, with Midray kneeling before her.
"Alright, Midray, you've earned this," Milim said, placing a glowing hand over his chest. "But remember, ruling is harder than smashing things!"
A golden dragon insignia formed on Midray's forehead as Milim's power merged with him. His aura became more refined, his Draconic presence became more powerful.
The dragons roared in unison, recognizing their new king.
Midray smiled. "I won't let you down, Lady Milim."
Milim grinned. "You'd better not, or I'll come back and kick your butt!"
Inside the Holy Cathedral of Ruberios, Luminous Valentine stood before Hinata Sakaguchi, who was already dressed in regal white robes.
Luminous stepped forward. "Hinata, you have been more than a protector—you have been the heart of this nation. Now, I leave it to you."
Hinata bowed. "I accept this responsibility, Lady Luminous. Ruberios will always be your home."
Luminous placed her fingers on Hinata's forehead, transferring a part of her celestial divinity. Hinata's aura radiated like a holy star, signifying her divine right to rule.
The church bells tolled as the citizens knelt, pledging their loyalty to Queen Hinata.
In the golden city of El Dorado, Leon Cromwell stood before Claude and Elphina, his chosen rulers.
Leon turned to Claude first. "Claude, you've always been my most loyal knight. Now, you will rule as king."
Claude knelt. "It is an honor I will uphold."
Leon then turned to Elphina. "Elphina, your wisdom will guide this kingdom. You will rule as its queen."
Elphina bowed. "I accept, Lord Leon."
Leon placed his hands upon them, granting them a fraction of his power. Their presence shifted, their strength magnified, and the golden throne of El Dorado now belonged to them.
In the celestial halls of Draguel's kingdom, Glassord, now his chosen successor, knelt before him.
Draguel placed a hand on his brother's chest, passing down his celestial power. "You've proven your worth, Glassord. Lead them well."
Glassord's aura flared with cosmic energy, and his sons—Dagura, Liura, and Debura—knelt before their new king.
Draguel nodded. "It is done. Rule wisely, my brother."
In the mystical lands of Celesterra, Ramiris hovered above Lyana, her chosen successor.
"Lyana, you're strong, but ruling isn't just about being strong. It's about protecting everyone," Ramiris said, tapping Lyana's forehead.
A burst of sacred fairy magic engulfed Lyana as she absorbed Ramiris' essence.
The fairies cheered, welcoming their new Fairy Queen.
Lyana bowed. "I will not fail, Lady Ramiris."
Far beyond the confines of the Cardinal World, in a dimension beyond comprehension, Beerus sat on a golden throne, watching everything unfold. His piercing gaze never wavered, arms resting lazily on the throne's armrests. His wives—Velzar, Erza, Zerna, Delta, Beta, and Sigma—stood nearby, observing the unfolding events with mild interest.
Whis floated beside him, smiling. "They are adapting well, Lord Beerus. Their ascension did not strip them of their intelligence, and their methods are quite efficient."
Beerus remained silent for a moment before chuckling. "They are learning, but this is only the beginning. Let's see if they can maintain their balance when true adversity strikes."
Zerna smirked. "They're being cautious, but they have potential."
Velzar leaned forward. "Do you think they'll succeed?"
Beerus closed his eyes. "That depends. A god does not simply rule. They observe, judge, and act only when necessary. If they truly wish to uphold their divine status, they must prove they can resist the urge to interfere when the world faces trials of its own making."
Whis nodded. "Then we shall continue watching, my Lord."
Beerus opened his eyes again, a knowing smile playing on his lips. "Indeed. Let's see if they are truly ready."
Later on after all the celebration, the Keepers gathered again to decide on how to push the Cardinal world to create a new Demon lord council without their interference.
Seated on thrones made of celestial energy, their presence alone was enough to warp reality around them. The air crackled with divine might, their forms radiating immeasurable power.
Rimuru leaned forward, his sapphire eyes sharp. "So, we've all chosen our successors, but how do we push the world to form a council without them suspecting our involvement?"
Guy crossed his legs, arms resting on the throne of Pandemonium. "Simple. We allow chaos to brew. Power vacuums always call for someone to take control."
Milim frowned. "You want to let the world fall into disorder?"
Luminous folded her arms. "Not complete disorder, but enough tension that the strongest in the world realize the need for a new governing force. The Demon Lords were always the ones to balance power, whether through fear or cooperation. If the mortals think it's their idea, they'll fight harder to maintain it."
Leon tapped his fingers against his throne. "We could start by having our successors engage in political talks with the remaining powers. If multiple factions start discussing the absence of the Demon Lord Council, it'll spread like wildfire."
Draguel nodded. "That would work, but it may not be enough. Some rulers might want to take advantage of our absence rather than establish balance."
Ramiris, sitting cross-legged on a floating orb of golden light, tilted her head. "Then what if we allow minor conflicts to arise? Nothing catastrophic, but enough to make them feel vulnerable. They'll start looking for a higher authority to stabilize everything."
Rimuru considered this. "So we allow conflicts to escalate just enough to make the idea of a new council desirable. But what about our successors? They can't be seen as orchestrating this, or it'll be obvious."
Guy smirked. "We make sure their hands are clean. Let the nations themselves cry out for leadership."
Milim slammed her fist on the armrest. "Then we'll need to make sure the right individuals step up. There are still powerful beings out there who might claim the title of Demon Lord for their own selfish gain."
Luminous nodded. "That's where we indirectly intervene. If someone unworthy tries to rise, we subtly guide events to push them aside."
Leon's golden eyes gleamed. "Then we should ensure the strongest, most qualified individuals begin considering the role of Demon Lord. This means nudging certain individuals in the right direction."
Rimuru exhaled. "So, to summarize: we allow tensions to rise, let our successors engage in diplomatic talks, and make sure the right candidates take interest in forming a new council. All without direct intervention."
They all nodded.
"Then let's begin," Draguel said.
