when sky forgot my name

Chapter 5: Chapter-05: Trapped Between Memory and Mystery

## **Chapter 05**

– Lyra's POV**

 My head was splitting.

It felt like someone had hammered something deep into my skull. My throat was dry. My body — aching in places I didn't even know could hurt.

But it was my right arm that screamed the loudest — like a slow burn running through my veins.

I tried turning to the left.

Bad idea.

Pain exploded through my shoulder.

Slowly, carefully, I opened my eyes. The light was soft, golden. The room smelled of sandalwood and something expensive.

White sheets. Crystal chandelier. A carved dresser with gold accents. And—

An IV drip hanging beside me.

 **Wait. IV?**

 Panic hit like a punch.

 I wasn't home.

**Where the hell am I?**

My body tensed instinctively. My fingers clutched the edge of the bedsheet.

 And then— Flashes.

The award show.

The parking lot.

The dark shadows. The masked men.

The sharp cloth on my face. The struggle. My gun.

My escape.

The road. The cold air.

And then — nothing.

I inhaled sharply.

Still dizzy.

Still unsure how the hell I got here.

Then — a soft knock.

 A woman stepped in.

Early fifties maybe. Hair in a tight bun. Formal white blouse tucked into a black skirt. She looked like someone who ran mansions, not homes.

She carried a tray with neatly cut fruit, pancakes drizzled with honey syrup, and a glass of water.

**"Good morning, ma'am."**

Her voice was gentle. Controlled.

**"You're safe now. You fainted last night. The doctor has already visited. You'll feel better once you eat and take your medicine."**

I stared at her, dazed.

**"Who brought me here?"** I asked, my voice cracked and dry.

Aira paused. Then smiled politely.

**"Someone found you unconscious near your car and brought you here. I'm sorry, I wasn't told their name. They left before you woke up."**

**Someone?**

That was all she had?

**"Is this... their house?"**

She nodded.

**"Yes, ma'am. A private villa. We were instructed to make you comfortable until you're well enough to leave."**

The back of my neck prickled.

**So... I'd been saved.**

By a stranger. But who?

 And Why?

And more importantly—how did they know where to take me?

I nodded slowly, unsure what to say. **"Tell them… thank you. If they ever return."**

She gave a soft nod. **"Please eat, ma'am. And don't rush anything. You're still weak. Chloroform exposure like that can be dangerous."**

**So I was right. It was chloroform.**

Not paranoia. Not a bad dream.

I was attacked.

And someone saved me.

I picked at the pancakes, but I couldn't taste a thing. I took the medicine, got up—and nearly collapsed.

She caught me in time.

 **"Please lie down, ma'am—"**

**"No,"** I whispered, stubborn. **"I'm leaving."**

She sighed, but didn't argue. She handed me my car keys.

Even my car had been brought here.

Everything was done smoothly. Silently.

Whoever did this… didn't want to be known.

**Not yet.**

I stepped outside. The sunlight hit my face.

I didn't even know which part of the city I was in.

But I drove.

And I drove fast.

---

 Back home.

At: Villa Vale.

But the second I stepped inside, I knew — something still wasn't right.

I wasn't safe.

Not really.

Gun still in my purse. Finger on the trigger.

 Every step. Every corner.

I watched. I listened.

And then—behind me.

Footsteps. I spun around, gun raised.

Just my loyal staff Mariya. Frozen. Terrified.

**"Don't sneak up on me,"** I muttered, lowering the weapon.

 **"I-I'm sorry, ma'am. I didn't mean—"**

**"Did anything happen here last night? Around 11 PM?"**

He shook his head quickly. **"Nothing, ma'am. You left for the event and… we didn't hear from you after."**

**"Check every CCTV camera. All entrances. All exits. I want full footage and staff logs by 6 PM."**

 **"Yes, ma'am. Right away."**

**"And install silent cameras. Back gate, cellar entrance, second balcony. Don't tell anyone. Not even the guards."**

 He nodded and rushed off.

 ---

I went upstairs.

My body ached. But not as much as my mind.

I was staring at the faint bruises on my collarbone. My shoulder.

I didn't look like someone who just won "CEO of the Year."

I looked like someone trying not to shatter.

I showered. Dressed. Stared into the mirror.

 The bruises were temporary.

 But the questions?

They were permanent.

 **Who attacked me?**

 **Why?**

**And who saved me… and disappeared?**

I laid on my bed, staring at the ceiling, hoping for peace.

But sleep came with no answers.

Only silence.

And more mystery.
