White God Legend

Chapter 95: Acknowledge kinship

Enis and I were joyfully strolling along the road. "By the way, what are those glowing boards everyone's holding?" Enis asked. "Oh, I forgot to tell you, those are called mobile phones on Earth. They're communication tools, similar to the communication magic in the demon realm, but Earthlings can't use magic, so they rely on these devices," I explained. With a flick of my magic, I conjured a phone and handed it to her. Enis curiously fiddled with it, and I occasionally showed her how to use it. Once she learned how to take photos, she kept pulling me in for selfies. It had been a long time since I'd seen her this happy.People on the street kept staring at Enis, drawn by her beauty. I used to feel jealous, but now I've opened my heart and even feel proud to have such a beautiful wife. Just then, a few young guys on motorcycles nearby started whistling at Enis. "Hey, pretty lady, wanna hang out with us? How about I buy you a drink?" The three of them called out to her with ill intentions. Enis didn't pay them any mind, just smiling, but I couldn't swallow my anger. I secretly cast a mind-control spell on them: "Go over there and crawl like dogs." Sure enough, the three of them, dazed and confused, got down on all fours and crawled away like dogs, barking occasionally. Passersby stared in shock, some bursting into laughter. I ignored them, took Enis's hand, and walked away. "You're being naughty again, hubby," Enis said. "Just a little punishment," I replied, leading her onward.I was about to take her to the city's amusement park when I realized it was quite far. I pulled her to a secluded road and used magic to create a car. "Come on, let's drive there. I promised to take you to a human amusement park last time," I said, opening the car door for Enis. "Is this an Earth transport tool? It's amazing!" Enis said, climbing in curiously. I fastened her seatbelt, started the car, and drove off. Back when I worked, I often drove the company car for deliveries, so my driving skills were decent. As we headed to the amusement park, Enis leaned against the window, gazing curiously at the towering buildings flashing by.About 20 minutes later, we arrived at the amusement park. I found a parking spot nearby and used magic to conjure a wallet—after all, amusement parks aren't cheap. "Honey, we're here. Let's get out," I said, opening the car door for her and leading her into the park.It was Saturday, so the place was crowded. To avoid queuing and dampening Enis's mood, I used mind-control magic to make people step aside for us. It wasn't the most ethical move, but since we were only back for a day, I figured we'd indulge a bit, haha.I took Enis to try all sorts of rides she'd never experienced before. The amusement parks in the demon realm are smaller and lack many facilities. We also got ice cream and crepes to eat together, immersing ourselves in the joyful atmosphere and forgetting the real purpose of our trip. As the sun began to set, I glanced at the sky and realized it was time to get serious. "Honey, let's call it a day here. It's time to go see my family," I said, taking her hand. "Alright, let's go," Enis replied with a smile. We got back in the car and drove off.I drove to the familiar residential complex and parked at the entrance of the alley. As we walked in, my heart started racing the closer we got to home. I was incredibly nervous. On Earth, I'm officially dead, and showing up out of nowhere might scare my parents to death. Holding Enis's hand, I slowly climbed the stairs to our fourth-floor apartment. I didn't dare walk too fast, taking each step cautiously and quietly. Finally, we reached the front door. I stood there, took a deep breath, and hesitated to ring the bell. Enis sensed my anxiety and squeezed my hand. "It's okay, hubby. I'm here with you," she said. Mustering my courage, I pressed the doorbell."Ding-dong~" After a few seconds of silence, a familiar voice called out, "Coming!" It was my mother! Before the door even opened, tears were already streaming down my face. The door slowly swung open. "Who is it…?" My mother froze when our eyes met, the air seeming to solidify. "Tianhao?! Am I seeing things or is this a ghost?" she gasped, stunned. "Mom, I'm not dead. I'm back!" I cried, throwing my arms around her. After a long moment, she came to her senses. "Tianhao, is it really you?" she sobbed, hugging me tightly. "Amin, come quick! Our son's back!" she shouted to my father inside. "What's going on…?" My father came out, then froze. "You… you… you?!" he stammered. "Dad, it's me! I'm alive, I'm back!" I shouted joyfully. "Wait a second. Your mother and I personally handled your funeral. We saw your body with our own eyes. Are you really Tianhao?!" My father thought he was seeing a ghost. "It's a long story. Let's go inside and talk. Oh, and I haven't introduced my partner yet. This is my wife, Enis. Honey, say hi to Mom and Dad!" I said to Enis. She shyly spoke up, "Hello, Mom and Dad. I'm Bai's wife. Sorry for the late introduction." "Oh, right, Bai is my new name elsewhere. We'll explain everything slowly. Let's go inside," I said, and we all entered the house.I simplified my experiences and explained them in a more scientific way to make it easier for my parents to accept. "That's the gist of it. I was revived by aliens on another planet, but my body is made of materials from that planet, so I can't stay on Earth for long. I can only come back occasionally to visit. I hope you understand," I said, finishing my explanation. My parents were still shocked but gradually accepted it, especially since I was alive. "I never thought my shy boy would find such a beautiful girl. I'm surprised and relieved," my father said, patting my shoulder. I scratched my head, embarrassed. "Oh, I'm making dinner. Let's all eat together!" my mother suggested. Enis and I agreed, and she went to the kitchen to help my mother while I stayed in the living room to catch up with my father. "When we got the news of your accident last year, it was like a bolt from the blue. Your sister rushed back from out of town, and we went to your city to identify your body. Your mother couldn't eat or sleep for days, and I felt like the world had collapsed. After your funeral, your mom still cleaned your room every day, missing you terribly. It's been a year, and we've barely recovered from the pain. Seeing you alive now makes it all worth it!" my father said, wiping away tears. I comforted him. "I'm sorry, Dad. I did die back then, but my soul was guided by aliens who said I had a purpose. They made me a new body, and that's why I'm here now. I'll come back to visit whenever I can. Oh, and here are two communicators that can connect Earth to my planet. You can video chat with us anytime so we won't feel so far apart," I said, handing him the communicators my teacher Satiantian made. "That's amazing! Like video calls? We'll chat with you two every day!" my father said, holding the communicators excitedly. "Yup, I'll show you how to use them later. Looks like Mom and Enis are done with dinner. Let's go eat," I said, and we headed to the dining room. "Tianhao, your wife is so capable. Even I can't find fault with her. She helped make all these dishes!" my mother said, praising Enis. I looked at the lavish spread on the table, thoroughly satisfied. "Haha, she's perfect in every way!" my father teased. The four of us enjoyed the delicious meal, catching up on each other's lives. From an ordinary person to a near-divine being, this past year had been filled with all sorts of experiences—sweet, bitter, and everything in between. I'd met all kinds of people, and now I was back at the starting point. As I ate, I couldn't help but feel: being alive is truly wonderful.
