Who hid My Corpse!

Chapter 505: 6 Hunter's Reward

Vic indeed felt something peculiar from the Blood Coagulation Potion.

But he couldn't quite put his finger on what exactly it was, a feeling as if his brain couldn't keep up with his nose's sense of smell.

He was about to ask Bai Wei, but realized that Bai Wei had unknowingly walked quite far ahead, prompting him to quickly catch up: "Where are you going?"

"Didn't I say we were heading to the Sacrificial Arena?"

"But the Sacrificial Arena isn't in this direction." Vic pointed to the deep mountain on his left, "We have to go through that forest to get there."

"Is that so? Then how long would it take to reach that way?"

"Not too long, about two weeks or so."

"Hmm... I think your concept of time differs from mine." Bai Wei said with a smile, "Sorry, I don't want to spend that much time on the road, so..."

He stopped and pointed ahead.

"I've decided to use a more convenient method."

Vic followed Bai Wei's finger and saw a nearly broken-down little wagon discarded by the roadside.

"The biggest difference between humans and beasts is the use of tools." Bai Wei said, "I believe, as long as we have that wagon and travel the main road, our time will be greatly reduced... What do you think?"

Vic thought Bai Wei's reasoning was quite baffling; he looked at Bai Wei with speechless disbelief: "I won't even mention how much more dangerous the main road is compared to the mountain path... even if we set that aside, do you have anything to pull the wagon with?"

"What do you usually use to pull wagons around here?"

"Horses, donkeys." Vic replied, "But they're quite rare and seldom used for pulling wagons because the night is fatal for them too."

"I see." Bai Wei remarked with some regret, "That's somewhat unfortunate then."

Vic thought Bai Wei was about to give up, ready to breathe a sigh of relief, when he suddenly heard Bai Wei go "Ah".

"By the way, how's your stamina?"

Vic felt a sense of unease.

...

Twenty minutes later, the townsfolk of Yade Town saw the newly arrived Rhein Priest leisurely sitting on a half-broken wagon.

And pulling the wagon was his faceless little follower.

This made the townsfolk of Yade unable to help but think... turns out Orthodox doesn't treat people as people either.

"Take it slow, don't push yourself too hard, I'm not in a hurry."

Bai Wei, smiling from the wagon, while Vic, his face wrapped in bandages, was full of black lines.

There was no way around it, Bai Wei kept saying he was severely injured, not well, and had sprained his foot when kicking the door, making walking difficult, and if Vic didn't help, they'd surely be caught by their enemies from both sides. This way, Vic had no choice but to agree.

Luckily, Bai Wei was quite light, so even sitting on the wagon, it didn't add much weight, and Vic, naturally strong, didn't find pulling it that difficult.

More than the physical exertion, Vic was worried about proceeding directly on the main road where they could easily be found by their enemies, and the dangers they faced at night far exceeded those on the rugged mountain paths.

Yet Bai Wei didn't care about these aspects, and thinking of Bai Wei's uncanny strength, Vic had nothing more to say.

It was all for finding Ade.

As long as they could find Ade, pulling the wagon was worth it.

"I have to say, people in this town are really hospitable." Bai Wei said lazily from the wagon.

"What do you mean?"

"Ever since we entered the town, people have been watching us, hiding behind doors, behind windows, even in the stables." Bai Wei smiled, "Staring intently, isn't that what hospitality is?"

Vic still struggled to comprehend Bai Wei's train of thought.

How is being watched considered hospitable?

This was outright surveillance on them.

...Is Rhein Priest not quite right in the head?

Vic couldn't help but think like this.

Bai Wei continued muttering on the wagon: "Hmm... The gaze has scrutiny, apprehension, and even hatred, which is quite normal."

... Is that normal? What on earth is your definition of normal?

Before Vic could voice his complaints, Bai Wei suddenly changed his tone.

"But... there are some that aren't normal."

Vic suddenly felt the wagon behind him lighten.

He immediately turned around to see Bai Wei suddenly get off the wagon, wielding the blood-stained Serrated Knife as he walked into a narrow alley.

Vic was utterly confused.

What's he doing now?

He quickly put down the wagon and chased after Bai Wei.

But by then, Bai Wei's back wasn't sore, his legs weren't lame, and he was walking so fast that he almost disappeared from Vic's sight in the blink of an eye.

Vic panicked, thinking Bai Wei intended to leave him behind, so he called Bai Wei's name while quickening his pace.

Fortunately, after turning a corner, he saw Bai Wei.

Only to find Bai Wei standing with the knife drawn in front of a frail little girl, who was squatting in a corner, full of fear, obviously frightened by Bai Wei.

"Priest Ulu! What are you doing?!"

Vic was even more frantic, rushing forward to stand in front of the little girl.

"She's just a child!"

"I know." Bai Wei said calmly, "Why are you panicking? I am a Rhein Priest, you should have faith in me."

Vic instinctively asked, "Faith in what?"

"We Rhein Priests don't fancy little girls."
