Chapter 2
Lying on her back in bed, her gaze fell upon the embroidered flowers and birds on the canopy.
Her canopy was embroidered with eagles, simply because Yun Qing liked eagles.
At that time, she had just entered the mansion and practiced embroidering eagles diligently to please Yun Qing. She embroidered them so vividly that they seemed lifelike. She even presented a piece depicting a sea eagle attacking a swan at the princess’s birthday banquet. Her embroidery was exquisite and lifelike, earning the princess’s admiration.
Perhaps she should never have provoked that fierce man who was as fierce as a sea eagle.
Yun Yue’s thoughts drifted back to the night of her coming-of-age ceremony.
During the day, she had drunk quite a bit of fruit wine, and her consciousness was somewhat blurred.
After her personal maid prepared a bath for her, her whole body felt warm. She accidentally fell asleep by the pool.
When she groggily opened her eyes, she found herself being carried out of the bath by someone.
The moonlight was beautiful; it was a full moon night, with the moon looking like a white jade plate.
She couldn’t help but reach out to try and grab the moon, but she heard a man’s deep voice say, “Manman, don’t be naughty.” Manman was her childhood nickname.
She originally didn’t have a childhood nickname because her mother greatly resented her. Her nickname was given by her stepfather, who, along with her stepbrother, would call her Manman.
They called her Manman not because she was spoiled, but because she was overly obedient. Her stepfather always hoped she could be more fierce and live as freely as other noblewomen in the royal household.
But she couldn’t help but be cautious. Before she was ten, she and her mother, who had been sent to a courtesan house, lived together in the Lanruo Pavilion.
The Lanruo Pavilion was the most famous official brothel in the capital.
That year, the former emperor passed away, and the new emperor ascended to the throne. He cleared the injustices suffered by her mother’s family, allowing her and her mother to leave the Lanruo Pavilion.
To compensate for the wrongs done to the crown prince’s faction, who had been implicated with the new emperor, the new emperor issued a decree after pacifying the northern frontier. He bestowed her mother to the Prince of Yun as an equal wife.
After entering the prince’s household, the Prince of Yun took great care of them. However, this naturally drew the displeasure of the first wife, Madam Zhang, and the second daughter of the Yun household viewed her as an enemy. Despite having the protection of the Prince of Yun, life was still difficult for her, a young girl from a courtesan house with an unknown father.
“You wretch! Just like your mother, both of you are wretches!” the princess consort would often find excuses to discipline her, frequently beating and scolding her.
Yun Yue’s mother never cared for her, so she had to find her own way. She sought the support of the prince’s heir, Yun Qing.
“Brother,” the ten-year-old girl, fearless like a newborn calf, followed the war god who had just returned from the battlefield. “This is a nourishing bone soup. Manman asked Auntie Li to make it. Brother, try it! It’s very good for your wounds!”
“I am not your brother. I don’t have a sister like you,” Yun Qing replied coldly.
Yun Qing had a cold and distant demeanor, making him difficult to approach. Yet, Yun Yue did not give up on getting close to him. She understood that only by gaining Yun Qing’s approval could she truly secure her place in the prince’s household.
Under her persistent efforts, the man with a heart as cold as a snow-capped mountain finally warmed up to her.
Yun Qing didn’t care for anyone, but he cared for her.
To live in peace, she redoubled her efforts to be good to Yun Qing.
“Manman likes Brother the most!” she had told Yun Qing countless times.
She had no other intention but to express her gratitude to Yun Qing and her affection for him as an elder brother. She never imagined that when she said she liked him the most, Yun Qing would only hear “like the most” and not understand the meaning behind the words “elder brother.”
In the country of Hui, those with the same surname do not intermarry. After being entered into the Prince of Yun’s family registry, she became his sister. However, it was clear that he did not see it that way.
“Brother, put me down…” After being carried for a while, Yun Yue finally sensed something was wrong.
The night breeze dispersed her intoxication, and she realized that she was only wearing an outer robe. Beneath that robe, she was naked.
She was being carried by her brother while completely unclothed.
“Brother!” As their eyes met, Yun Yue’s heart sank.
She knew that look in a man’s eyes all too well.
It was pure desire.
The proud and aloof man, whose eyes were usually as cold as an icy pool, now burned with a fierce light.
“Brother, we are siblings!” Yun Yue struggled.
But her strength was no match for Yun Qing’s.
“We are not siblings,” Yun Qing said with a smirk, a smile devoid of warmth that sent a chill down her spine.
After realizing she wasn’t wearing any clothes, Yun Yue desperately wanted to get down, but Yun Qing’s large hand slowly tightened around her, possessively roaming over her body.
This made Yun Yue freeze completely.
Under the cover of night, the man with a cold expression carried the slender girl into her bedroom with swift steps.
The big bad wolf revealed his true nature, baring his sharp fangs and claws.
The girl was thrown onto the bed, and the man pressed down on her.
“Manman, didn’t you say you liked Brother? Hmm?” This question felt like a knife, pointed straight at Yun Yue, as if daring her to contradict him.
“Manman likes Brother,” she tried to explain that her affection was different from what he understood, but her legs were already spread apart. The hot flesh rod pressed against her tender entrance.
Her little cave, startled, contracted repeatedly. The tender, pink flesh was wet and inviting, exuding the scent of a young girl’s arousal.
