Why Does Love Hurt?

Chapter 6: CHAPTER 05: CLASSROOM RULE

"Ely," her brother called.

She looked at Nathan, whose voice was clearly serious.

"Go on, thank you very much for bringing my ID." He said this, smiling at her.

"Yes, brother." Her response was that she was just ignoring the man in front of Nathan.

She started walking back to go inside at school, as the bell was about to ring and she didn't want to be late, when her brother suddenly called her.

"El, I'll pick you up this afternoon." It said.

She just nodded and smiled then.

"Okay." She immediately walked away from the two men. It was obvious that Nathan was serious during the conversation earlier.

I hope I didn't bother my brother. All she could say as she walked back to their school.

It still didn't escape her mind why her brother knew the man who entered the office yesterday.

Hey, El, just go inside your classroom, and you have some mischievous kids who need you. Her mind took charge.

She immediately reached the faculty room and got the book and other materials for her teaching.

"Faith, have you already established any rules?" Veron asked her a question while they walked towards their assigned classrooms.

"Ah, yes, I've already put something together; hopefully it will be effective." Mariely just scratched her head, and Mariely gave Veron a nervous smile.

"I know it will be effective." Veron said that it was encouraging.

"Thank you, Veron." This is all she said as she was entering the classroom she would be teaching.

Mariely is not in uniform yet because she's a new teacher. Their principal said that in two weeks, she needs to wear a uniform.

Just like yesterday, it was still noisy, but they weren't punching each other anymore.

She saw a card; her student was gambling even though it was at school.

Mariely just sighed and let it go for now.

It's as if her students didn't even notice her. There are scattered papers on the floor, the floor is dirty, and the chairs are not arranged.

She's breathing deeply. What she hates most is a messy classroom and a lack of classroom management, and she doesn't like a chaotic classroom environment.

When she reached the teacher's table at the front, even though she didn't want to do it, she had to bang the blackboard to get her students' attention.

Mariely didn't fail to get their attention. She immediately looked at them.

Her face was serious, and she crossed her arms.

"Good morning." She greets all the students and looks at them attentively.

"What's good about the morning?" she heard that mocking question thrown at her.

She smiled sarcastically at the student who rudely asked that question. She approached her at his seat.

"What's your name again?" Mariely asked in a calm voice.

"I have no name." She smiled at Mariely.

"Okay," she walked away then. "No name," she said.

Some students are laughing because of her response.

"When I ask you, answer me correctly." She said to the students.

"Rule number 2, that's it." He immediately stuck the paper to the blackboard.

"Tsk, just follow your rules. We don't have any rules to follow here." The one who answered her said,.

"No name, right?" It's as if she didn't hear what the student was saying. She needs to be strict to discipline her subordinates.

"My name isn't No Name. Richmond." Richmond said it to her.

"Okay, I thought you didn't have a name." She said it and smiled at her student sweetly.

"Rule No. 1: Everyone here must show respect, not just to me or each other, but to all of us." She said while looking at the students.

"Eh, what if we don't want to? What can you do?" Someone asked her, and she saw a black earring and a hat, whose uniform was untidy.

Mariely approached. "Of course I can do something, son. Fix your uniform and take off your hat and earrings." She ordered the student. "Do you want me to fix your uniform for you?" She even smiled at the student.

Even though the student didn't want to do it, he did what was ordered.

"Rule no. 3: When I'm speaking in front, no one is to interrupt, and if you have something to say, just raise your hand."

Mariely even saw someone roll their eyes at her.

She just let it go.

"Rule no. 4: Playing cards or any form of gambling games is prohibited in school and in the classroom." She took the cards from the players, who were just sitting quietly side by side.

"Rule no. 5: No using gadgets during class."

"Put away that cellphone, son. You might not get it back." She said she looked at the student who was playing on his cellphone.

She was still being watched and immediately hid his cellphone.

"Rule no. 6: No fighting in school or in the classroom."

"Rule 7: You must learn to clean the classroom; it can't be messy or dusty."

"Rule no. 8: Don't be noisy in the classroom when there's no teacher, because you're disturbing the classroom next door."

"And finally, Rule No. 9: Be Happy." She smiled at her students, who were listening to her intently.

"Do you have any questions?" She asked.

"Nothing, your rules are weird." Someone said it, and their classmates laughed again.

She sighed and went back to the front.

"By the way, I forgot something." She said, looking at the students.

"One of the rules you broke there comes with beneficial punishments. Well, I'm excited about the violations. It's only every Friday. I'll list your names here in my magical notebook." She smiled as she spoke to his students.

"There are no objections; let's start the class."

The students just didn't react to what she was saying. Maybe they're afraid of receiving punishment.

But Mariely knew that rules alone weren't enough to make her subordinates behave.

She needs to be strong, because if she just gives up easily, the attitudes of the youth might not be corrected, or she needs to take steps to get to know her students completely.

As Nathan mentioned, the afternoon brought her up to speed.

"Brother, did you know that guy earlier?" She suddenly asked her brother.

Nathan just looked at her and chuckled softly. "Seriously, El, you forget people so easily, don't you?" He asked her.

"Huh?" That was all she could say because she was confused by what her brother had said.

"Okay, clue. He's the guy you told me about before who has a bad attitude." Her brother said, and she saw the smile that was trying to hold back laughter.

Mariely immediately remembered the person she told had a bad attitude. "Ah, that classmate of yours from high school who made me cry and said I was a crybaby. What's his name again?" She asked, crossing her arms and trying to scan her mind.

"You don't remember anymore?" Her brother asked another question. "He's your principal's son, isn't he? Yes, Mrs. Becca Jordan Montero." Her sibling replied.

There she was, surprised. "Is he Ma'am Becca's child?" She asked her brother curiously.

Mariely's brother nodded his head as he replied.

"You still can't remember his name?" Nathan asked her, looking at the road.

Mariely just shook her head because she really couldn't remember what was on her mind.

"Well, it's better if you don't remember that name." Her brother suddenly said.

She looked at her brother, who was driving with a serious expression on his face.

Mariely just didn't speak anymore. She also knew that her older brother wasn't close to his high school classmate. She just quietly watched the long line of vehicles caused by the traffic.
