Wielder of the Gods’ Power ~Scorned as Power Level ‘0’, Yet Secretly Among the World’s Strongest~

Chapter 39

Chapter 39. Sun God

Ah… It’s hot…

A scorching flame roars fiercely from my body. The heat is so intense that the ground begins to melt like magma.

…As I thought, considering the environment, [Mars] is the best. It causes the least harm to both the surroundings and myself.

“Hah.”

A sigh escapes involuntarily. It’s directed at Hattori-san. She must have recruited me to increase the survival rate of the team, but now she’s telling me to stay back and fighting alone.

Is she an idiot?

That’s completely counterproductive. It makes my presence meaningless. Even if she thinks my ability is just body enhancement, there must be other ways to achieve that.

“What is this damn irritating flame?!”

The monster raises a voice of astonishment.

…That’s right, I was in the middle of a battle. I’ll save my complaints for Hattori-san for later. First, I need to eliminate the enemy in front of me quickly.

“Didn’t we say that we have bad compatibility with you? I’ll return those words to you. –I am your death god.”

Considering Hayato’s compatibility with the enemy, one could say that he is their natural enemy in every way.

Hayato can manipulate his own existence. In past battles, he had been bringing himself closer to [Mars], but there’s no need to limit this to the God of War.

A power that allows him to elevate himself to any existence. That is Hayato’s ability, the true value of [Transcender].

“Blabbering!!”

The monster, enraged, continues attacking, but none of its strikes reach Hayato. The heat radiating from Hayato’s body, now reaching six thousand degrees, burns everything around him.

“Flame.”

At Hayato’s command, the flames flicker and surround Hattori to protect her. Of course, this protection is not from the monster but from Hayato’s own attacks.

Due to the heat emanating from Hayato’s body, even without intent, surrounding creatures are being burned alive.

“Don’t you dare mess with me, kid!!”

The monster begins to turn red-black. This was its trump card. In this state, it boasts overwhelming resistance to all attacks, and even if it is hit by its own weakness, the flame, it can almost completely endure it.

The monster transforms into various weapons, like a spear, great sword, hammer, and lance, and leaps at Hayato. Each of these attacks carries an extraordinary force.

In response, perhaps due to the overwhelming speed, or because he’s overconfident in his flames, Hayato does not move.

The monster grins and, certain of its victory, thinks, “You’re dead!” Hayato has no time to dodge. In just a few seconds, the monster’s attack will tear through his body, spilling his entrails. There are no exceptions.

—Or so it was supposed to be.

“[Flame Wrap].”

It wasn’t a large-scale attack. In fact, it wasn’t even an attack. Pale blue flames engulf Hayato. It was something mysterious and otherworldly, not of this reality.

As expected, just as the monster had anticipated, Hayato takes countless hits from the monster’s attacks.

But instead of being pierced, the attacks continue straight through him, without slowing down. It was an odd sight. It was as if the flames were swallowing the attacks.

The monster, noticing the strange phenomenon, stops and looks at its arm in disbelief.

“What… is this?”

It was melting. The very thing the monster had been certain would kill the boy in front of it. The monster stared at its own arm, dumbfounded, unable to believe what was happening.

Why? How could this happen? The answer was simple: It wasn’t absolute resistance. An attack powerful enough to destroy a mountain would probably be withstood, and perhaps even one strong enough to split the seas.

But now, Hayato had surpassed those limits.

The heat of the [Flame Wrap] was around ten million Kelvin. Upon collision, the monster’s attacks didn’t just melt—they evaporated. This gave the illusion that the flames were swallowing the attacks. Normally, such a high temperature would ionize all matter into gas—plasma—but since Hayato was controlling the heat in the space around him, the environment itself had not collapsed.

This was a technique nearly impossible to use on Earth due to the extreme heat, but fortunately for Hayato, this space was not on Earth, allowing him to use it without concern for collateral damage.

“You thought you had won for a moment, didn’t you? Before a fake god, yes, but before the Sun God. How foolish. It’s so ridiculous that I can’t even laugh.”

A voice echoes from the depths of the earth. Within it is anger. The anger of Hayato—and the anger of something else.

Bringing himself closer to an existence also means drawing near to their psyche. Now, Hayato’s heart is filled with the anger of someone else, a second being who is furious at having their existence belittled.

This is one of the reasons why Hayato doesn’t like using his abilities. What would happen if he kept using them is something even he isn’t sure of.

Hayato urgently gives the flames an order to finish the fight.

“Dance, [Mad Clown].”

The flames, following Hayato’s command, take the form of clowns. They’re dressed in long-sleeved costumes like those seen in circuses, performing comical movements.

As several clowns appear, they all begin dancing and leap into the forest.

Once in the forest, they each begin dancing freely. The clowns, performing a comical dance, hop and skip, weaving through the forest.

“Nu?!”

The monster, a moment behind, snaps back to reality and rushes to crush the eerie clowns. It sets aside the bizarre events it just witnessed. It insists to itself that this must be a mistake. It refuses to believe that nothing can harm the presence before it. That would mean its defeat, and not just any defeat. It would be a humiliating defeat, one where it couldn’t even fight back.

“Die!!”

The monster relentlessly attacks the clowns.

However, the clowns continue to dance and evade, their movements resembling a waltz at a ball.

And then, the finale.

The clowns bow.

Boom!!!

As they do, their bodies explode. The area within a 300-meter radius around the clowns is blasted away, and this happens multiple times.

A sharp crack signals the breaking of the second core. Still, the monster doesn’t appear to be defeated.

“Persistent, aren’t you?”

Hayato thinks to himself. “Who cares about the cores anymore?”

Honestly, he thought [Mad Clown] would end everything, but the still-healthy monster was starting to get on his nerves.

(It’s risky, but it’s better to end this quickly.)

Wanting to avoid using his abilities for too long, Hayato opts for a decisive battle.

“Rank Ascension—The time of destruction has come, [Ra].”

Hayato’s flames flare brightly, and six hands appear behind him, floating like a halo.

“You… what are you?!”

The monster lets out a voice full of fear. The presence before it is unmistakably not human. It could only be described as ‘god’.

Hayato extends his left arm, and the hands behind him mirror the motion. Then, a black flame reminiscent of the bottomless pit of hell is summoned into his hand.

“You’ve killed humans unjustly, right? Then I’ll kill you just as ruthlessly.”

With murder in his eyes, he brings an end to this battle.

“[Flame of the End].”

The black flames are unleashed. They devour the forest, leading it to nothingness in the blink of an eye. After the flames pass, nothing remains.

“GUAAAHHH!!!”

The monster struggles to escape the flames, but instead of dissipating, they only grow stronger. Finally, the deathly flames, consuming everything, take over the entire space.

It lasts less than twenty seconds, but the monster suffers the excruciating pain of its entire body being burned, and when death finally arrives, its heart is not filled with despair, but with relief that it can finally die.
