Chapter 16: Talking to Aislin
Chapter Sixteen: Talking to Aislin
As the remaining ice scorpions began freezing the gaps formed during the battle – the battle was no joke between a Spirit Master with the title and a spirit beast over two hundred thousand years old – pits and valleys were formed, with depths of several tens of meters and lengths reaching up to a hundred meters in the surrounding area.
In the meantime, I began meditating on one of the small islands.
The lands of the Ice Scorpion Clan were closer to the center of the far north, where temperatures dropped, and the spiritual energy's density and level increased, accelerating my recovery rate.
After a few hours, the conversation between my mother and the Ice Scorpion Empress, the Green Star, ended.
The result was that my sister and I would be allowed to visit the lands of the Ice Scorpion Clan and train with its members freely, but only in the presence of "Bing Shou," the name that the Ice Empress allowed herself to use.
Especially after I learned that I had broken through the ten-thousand-year barrier in just 5,700 years.
Even her gaze towards me changed slightly, becoming warmer… or perhaps not, just nonsense. If it did, it was at most 5%.
I decided not to waste time and began training the next day.
My goal was a 30,000-year-old Ice Scorpion.
Like most scorpions who had surpassed this age, it looked up to the Ice Empress.
Although its personality had already formed to a teenage level, it lacked self-control and wasn't accustomed to restraining its instincts.
What I learned yesterday was that Bing Shou was the most talented in the entire clan.
And although she was young, she possessed the highest level of cultivation, making her a highly desired partner.
Well, that's fine, I'll break all its claws, but I decided to start with the smaller one.
In one day, I fought more than ten battles, and no opponent under forty thousand years was a match for me.
The 32,000-year-old Ice Scorpion, which possessed the "Glacial Explosion" ability, caused some problems.
I couldn't get close to it, as it continuously exploded the ice near me.
Although it didn't cause significant harm to me, it was very annoying.
After thirty minutes, I finally managed to catch up to it, and to my surprise, its physical strength and defense were even weaker than its relatives.
Even at the age of forty thousand years, I could easily suppress my opponents, not only with absolute strength but even with a strong push.
However, in battles against beasts over fifty thousand years old, I fought on equal terms for a long time.
I did not lose in speed or strength, but I felt frustrated, as they could only cause minor scratches on my scales, while I couldn't land a hit on my opponents, forcing me to surrender.
Well, it was a good training day. There's still room for improvement, especially in combat tactics.
While I was somewhat accustomed to fighting against Elemental Lords and Spirit Masters, it was completely different with spirit beasts.
In our lands, there was no spirit beast older than 10,000 years, so I had no real opponents.
Of course, I could fight against my mother, but she was preparing for a new breakthrough, and it wouldn't have been wise to distract her with something trivial.
I also had to force my sister to engage in some battles. Even though she was emotionally maturing and behaving like a 15-16-year-old girl, she still preferred to play over anything else.
And no. Suppressing the bloodline did not affect them.
So, I had to promise her that I would accompany her on her adventures in the lands of the Scorpion Clan.
In the end, I couldn't let her roam alone.
Who knows what some of the ice scorpions might be thinking? Keeping her by my side was pointless—she would always find a way to escape.
End of Flashback
Present Time
It has been a day since the battle with the armored ice lizard.
At present, I am preparing to go to the Star Forest with a new mission.
However, Aislin asked me to walk with her around the lake in our area. This is strange. Why does she want to go there?
The lake is not far from the cave, only 10 kilometers.
So, I am now flying towards it.
After a few seconds, I landed near Aislin.
"Well, my dear sister, do you want to play now?"
Aislin said: "My dear brother, I am no longer a child, I am already a mature dragoness, so I hope you look at me as an adult and not a child."
Hmm… it doesn't matter. You will always be my dear little sister. So, for me, it doesn't make a difference.
Aislin said: "Brother, do you mean that you don't see me as a mature dragoness, but rather just an immature dragoness unworthy of you? If you're being honest, why were you angry when you saw the male lizard? Have you become a hypocrite or what?"
"What's wrong with you, Aislin? Have you entered a rebellious phase now or what? Why are you talking like a girl in love? Are you serious about this matter?"
Aislin said: "Yes, I am serious. If you don't want me, I'll look for another partner. I hope you think about this carefully before you respond. Anyway, I'm ready to wait."
"Aislin, have you lost your mind? What nonsense are you talking? Anyway, come with me to the cave and let this matter pass."
Aislin said: "Is this what you want to say, Aison? If you're serious in what you're saying, fine, go back to the cave, but I won't return until I find a suitable partner. So, continue in your tunnel like humans."
Aislin, my dear sister, I believe I have spoken to you about this matter before, haven't I?
Aislin said: No, we haven't spoken about this before. And I'm not in the rebellious stage. I'm serious. I've spoken to Mom about this issue, so the choice is yours.
Did you talk to Mom? And why didn't I know about this? When did this happen? Is she responsible for the armored ice lizard being in our lands?
Aislin said: Yes, Mom actually wanted to give him part of her blood essence so that he would transform into an ice dragon and become my partner. However, you killed him. This matter is no longer important. You've passed judgment on him, and this means you are standing in the way of my personal happiness. I hope you understand that.
