....

Earlier That Day,

Mitras,

----

Mitras, located within Wall Sheena, was the Capital of Eldia and housed the Royal Family, The Royal Government and all high-class Citizens within Wall Sheena.

Mainly occupied by the upper class and those close to the royal family, it was regarded as the paradise within the walls. Those living within enjoying a quiet life, far from the threat of Titans.

"…. This is the information we received, Lord Reiss …." In the chancellery, five individuals stood around each other as the royal conference began.

"I see. Is this True, Djel?"

The group turned their attention to the door. There, a soldier stood.

"Indeed sir. …" he replied, an emblem of a unicorn on his Jacket uniform.

Djel Sannes.

"Word has spread all the way from Trost. The branch Garrison HQ had been attacked, seemingly by one individual. High Territory Commander, Dot Pixis confirms this …."

"… ."

It had been more than half a day. The news that The Garrison in Trost had been attacked, had made the Front Page.

The Berge Newspapers, the only News company on Paradis Island, had reported the information and spread the news throughout Wall Rose and Wall Sheena.

Of course, a branch Garrison HQ being attacked was not enough to warrant a council gathering. Pixis's report was a different story.

The Grand chamber was poorly illuminated. Many windows half closed as the middle-aged men discussed among themselves. The air was thick with the scent of old parchment and aged wine, but none of the men could feel at ease.

At the very edge, sitting on a Throne, was an old man with long, straight white hair, small eyes, a face full of wrinkles and a small beard that covered his chin and lips.

The ruler of The Walls, King Fritz. Or so the public thought.

In reality, he was nothing but a figurehead, with no real power. A Fake Monarch, doing nothing but sit on the throne all day long and sleep with his eyes half open. Just like he was this instant.

As for the True ruler of The Walls? They had long ceased to go by their original surnames.

Rod Reiss frowned as he read through the parchment in his hands. The elegant calligraphy of Dot Pixis was clear and precise, each word carefully chosen. Yet, the contents of the report were anything but reassuring.

> Official Report from High Territory Commander Dot Pixis

> To His Majesty, King Fritz and the Esteemed Members of the Royal Government.

[As of yesterday, an attack was carried out on the branch Garrison Headquarters in Trost District. This incident was not the result of a coordinated assault by rebels or criminal factions but was instead carried out by a single individual]

[The identity of this individual remains unverified, but according to eyewitness accounts, the individual referred to himself by the name, Seiji Uchiha and was allegedly seeking information regarding the Colossal and Armored Titans]

[Based on the testimonies of soldiers present and further discussions with Commander Erwin Smith, we have reason to believe that this individual originates from beyond the Walls]

[Supporting this assessment is the case of a Survey Corps soldier who was reported lost beyond Wall Rose. She returned alive after spending an entire day outside the Walls—without a horse or ODM gear. By all accounts, her survival was made possible by this same individual, who escorted her back to Wall Rose]

Rod turned to the next page.

[In light of these findings, the Survey Corps and Garrison Regiment have agreed to a joint operation to locate and secure Seiji Uchiha]

[A detachment of Garrison forces will be transferred to the Survey Corps for an expedition beyond Wall Rose. The primary objective is to determine the origins, abilities, and intentions of this individual, as his existence may hold critical implications for the survival of humanity]

[Should he indeed come from beyond the Walls, he may hold knowledge critical to the survival of humanity. It is entirely possible that we may not be the last of Mankind]

-------

"a human? One that comes from outside the walls?…."

Rod placed the parchment down, folding his hands.

The room was quiet.

This was not merely a report of a military disturbance. This was something far greater.

An unknown man, possessing knowledge beyond reason, should not exist within the Walls. And now, Erwin and Pixis had taken it upon themselves to investigate.

Rod exhaled slowly.

"Thoughts?"

It was Lord Aurille who spoke first, his voice calm yet measured. "If this report is to be believed, we may be dealing with an outsider. A foreigner." His gaze sharpened. "This contradicts everything we know. There is nothing beyond the Walls."

Rod remained silent.

Another noble scoffed. "I agree. Nonsense. There are no humans outside the Walls. Only Titans."

"… Then what exactly do you make of this? A lie? …"

"Hmph! What else could it be?"

"First, it says a single individual defeated close to Two hundred soldiers. Now it says that there are people living outside the walls. What next is it going to tell us? That Titans are actually humans?"

"To believe something like this, Pixis must going senile ..." another Lord named Gerald uttered as he looked at the motionless King Fritz on the throne, sleeping with his eyes open.

'Just like this useless old fart'.

Rod Reiss paused. Turning to Gerald who uttered those last words, his expression unreadable.

The man didn't notice.

"That is Pixis's report. Do you wish to say he is lying?"

"No. The problem lies not with Pixis, but the individual in question. This … Seimi Hudiha or whatever he's called. Isn't that right, Djel?"

The question was tossed back to the Interior Military Police officer.

Djel Sannes, who had remained by the door, finally spoke. "Indeed. Regardless of our beliefs, my lords, both the Garrison and Survey Corps are acting on this intelligence. The question is not whether we accept the existence of this man, but rather—how do we respond?"

A heavy pause.

One of the nobles sneered. "It's obvious, isn't it? This man is a threat. We cannot allow Erwin Smith to act unchecked."

Lord Roderick, the leader of the Wallists, folded his arms. "If this 'Seiji Uchiha' truly exists and is as powerful as the report suggests, he could destabilize the balance we have maintained for over a century. And if the people were to learn of his existence, it could spark a civil war …"

Rod nodded slightly. That was the real issue. These clamoring idiots knew not the Truth about the walls and the outside world, but he did.

The assemblies were just a group of old men scared of losing what power they had. He was different. As the true king of The Walls, everything had to be done to ensure the Peace. King Karl Fritz's Ideology was to keep Eldians within the walls, unaware of the world beyond it. Hence, he modified the memories of the citizens to believe they were the last of Mankind.

A hundred years later, people still believed this lie. The high death rates of The Survey Corps made sure that they would always remain afraid of the world beyond the walls. This was the Peace. Peace that could only be granted by the rule of The Monarchy.

Now, however, a new arrival threatened to destroy those ideals. If people learned there was a human beyond the Walls, the people would begin to question the royal government. The revelation of the True Nature of The Titans would lead to a sharp decline in Morale. The military would turn against them, a rebellion would arise, and the rule of the Monarchy would crumble.

"We can't let the Government lose control. Once that happens, it's all over. Regardless of the authenticity of this, it is a risk as long as the possibility exists. Our authority is and always must be absolute."

They could not allow that. Especially when The Founding Titan was no longer under the control of The Reiss Family.

Rod took a breath and gave his verdict.

"Send word to the Military Police Brigade. They are to intercept Erwin Smith upon his return and conduct an internal investigation. The Survey Corps are to be dissolved if they know too much. If they do bring back an outsider, then he is to be arrested under the charge of Treason." His voice remained steady, but there was an unmistakable finality to it.

A noble raised an eyebrow. "And if he refuses?"

Rod's lips curled into something almost resembling a smile.

"Then we take further measures."

There was no need to say more. They understood the meaning well enough.

Djel Sannes nodded. "I will handle the arrangements, Lord Reiss."

Rod leaned back in his chair, gazing at the parchment one last time.

Seiji Uchiha.

Whoever he was…

He would not remain free for long.
