Wizard Bloodline

Chapter 284: Chapter 284: Chimera, Primordial, Juventus!

The sudden turn of events on the field left all the wizards stunned, including Ronan.

He had already prepared to make a scene, planning to try another gatekeeper if forced entry failed. Unexpectedly, he ended up being the sole qualifier.

"So, your previous behavior was all an act?"

Ronan slowly inquired.

The gatekeeper tree smiled and shook its head: "Not entirely. They did manage to amuse me, after all. It's just a matter of an entry spot.

Under the glow of the Three Towers, people like them are bound to be eliminated sooner or later."

"Three Towers?"

Ronan's eyes flickered with interest, but the gatekeeper tree refused to elaborate further. Instead, it tore open the vortex entrance on its chest wider and bowed respectfully, saying, "You should enter now. Once you step into the Spirit Lake, all answers will naturally come to you."

Ronan said nothing more, retracting the powerful mental field around him, comparable to that of a fourth-level Dawn Wizard, and stepped into the blue vortex entrance located at the gatekeeper tree's chest.

As soon as he entered, the vortex entrance quickly closed behind him. Faintly, he could hear the gatekeeper tree, Tataka, impatiently shooing the others away.

"Alright, you fools. The game is over. The Spirit Lake is not meant for you. Get lost!"

It felt like stepping out of a stifling, murky room into the open air—a strange yet wonderful sensation.

By the time Ronan realized it, he was already in the "Spirit Lake."

To be precise, it was the Spirit Lake Secret Realm.

"This is the kind of foundation a major wizard faction should have. Damien, this suits you well."

Ronan ignored Alazan's rare moment of lighthearted reflection and calmly surveyed his surroundings.

He found himself in a bright, high-altitude space with no clouds, sun, moon, or stars in sight.

The light illuminating the entire space seemed to emerge directly from the void. The air was exceptionally fresh and pleasant, evenly scattered with free energy particles of various elements.

The sky was filled with countless blue fissures, resembling countless eyes. Wizards who had passed the Spirit Lake gatekeeper's test emerged from these fissures, some floating in mid-air, others descending downward.

They were densely packed, like a swarm of flying ants.

Beneath them all was an enormous, mirror-like azure lake.

It was called a "lake" because Ronan could see its edges, surrounded by countless rolling mountains that tightly encircled the entire azure expanse.

Tranquil, vibrant, and radiating an immense sense of peace that touched the soul.

This was Ronan's first impression of the Spirit Lake.

The sky-mirror-like surface of the lake was utterly still, without a single ripple. Three massive symbols floated on the lake, slowly rotating, forming a perfect circular trajectory.

These symbols were a flame, a water droplet, and a black moon. According to the information Jason had provided, they represented the three pillar schools within the Spirit Lake, which were also its three core elements.

"The flame represents the explosiveness of spells, symbolizing inevitable conflict. This is the combat-focused school within the Spirit Lake..."

"The water droplet represents the depth of knowledge, embodying the vast wisdom of the ocean. It emphasizes the acquisition of knowledge and is a research-oriented school."

"The Black Moon represents the mystery of the soul. This school focuses on the soul, specializing in meditation, seeking to explore the secrets of the soul."

Ronan gazed down at the vast Spirit Lake, silently pondering.

He had always followed the path of the ancient battle wizard. If given the choice, his first inclination would naturally lean towards joining the Fire School.

But at the moment, he hadn't yet passed the entrance selection, so it was still too early to consider this.

Through the surface of the Spirit Lake, Ronan could vaguely see the shadows of some grand structures standing upside down beneath the water. He couldn't help but recall the "Three Towers" mentioned earlier by the gatekeeper tree.

As he thought about it, Ronan, along with the other wizards who had entered the secret realm for the selection, slowly descended. However, at that very moment, a loud, thunderous roar erupted from the sky above, accompanied by intense spatial fluctuations.

Ronan looked up.

In the sky, an incredibly long crack had appeared, which quickly widened into a massive blue vortex.

Endless gusts of wind blew out from the vortex, directly forming terrifying tornado columns in the air. The hem of Ronan's Wizard Robe was lifted, and he instinctively squinted his eyes.

The next moment, he saw a monstrous creature, as large as a mountain, roar and burst out from the vortex.

With the head of a lion, the body of a goat, a long tail of a black scorpion and a venomous snake, and a pair of bat-like wings, the creature let out a terrifying low growl. Its wings spread out, casting a massive shadow over the countless wizards and the surface of the Spirit Lake. Its dreadful aura spread in all directions like a volcano or a tsunami.

Ronan heard a wizard in the distance shout in a trembling voice, "Chimera?!"

A sense of panic and unease rapidly spread throughout the secret realm. However, Ronan's gaze went beyond the figure of the monster, which resembled the legendary beast "Chimera," and landed on its back.

He saw a person standing on the monster's back!

A figure enveloped in countless semi-illusory runes, glowing all over, as perfect and cold as a deity.

Ronan felt an inexplicable tremor, a tremor that came from the deepest part of his soul. Within his body, between his flesh and bones, the incomplete storm runes began to glow as if suppressed by some natural enemy, causing his blood to stir restlessly.

Suddenly, Ronan heard a low chuckle from Alazan.

"Damien, do you remember what I once told you about 'Decayed Blood'?"

"Is he also Decayed Blood?"

"No."

Alazan shook his head and slowly said, "If I'm not mistaken,

this little one should be a first-generation Decayed Blood of the seventh level."

"?!"

On the serene lake shrouded in thick mist, the blue-green waves shimmered with the changing light of the moon and dawn. A floating bridge made of silver-gray magical stones extended from the mist, leading to a small island at the center of the lake.

A figure clad in a gray robe, leaning on a staff as tall as a person, walked step by step across the floating bridge.

He passed through the mist and gently stepped onto the slightly damp but solid ground of the island. In front of him, two other figures in gray robes were casually seated on stools made of a few stacked stones.

"Juventus has arrived."

The gray-robed figure who had passed through the mist walked up to the two of them, casually found a spot, and used the sleeve of his Wizard Robe to brush away the dust on the stone surface before speaking slowly.

"He should have come long ago."

One of the gray-robed figures spoke indifferently.

Another followed up immediately.

"What does he want to take from the Spirit Lake?"

The faces of all three seemed shrouded in thick fog, making their features indistinguishable. The voices they emitted also made it impossible to discern their age or gender.

"I don't know."

The first gray-robed figure who had spoken shook his head. "I suspect he might be the one mentioned in the prophecy."
