Chapter 59 Subhuman Wizard Research Institute
Floating City Research Institute, Director's Office.
"What is this?"
Ansen looked at the stack of thick Magic Books in front of him, somewhat confused as he glanced at Richard.
Richard said calmly, "You'll know once you take a look."
Ansen opened the notebook, only to see it filled with dense symbols, formulas, and deductions regarding these symbols, as well as the raised questions. Ansen wasn't just an administrative fool, so he immediately recognized the significance contained within these formulas.
Richard pulled out two books from the thick stack.
"These are things you've already completed the prerequisites for but haven't discovered."
Saying this, he pulled out another two books, then pointed to the remaining ones and said, "These are some of my minor achievements, which you can further expand on."
Finally, he handed the two Magic Books in his hand to Ansen.
"These last two, along with the one you're holding, are the Floating City Research Institute's research projects for the next hundred years."
Ansen was somewhat stunned looking at these notebooks before him. Although Richard wasn't showcasing Holy Light or displaying any power that could transform the world, in Ansen's eyes, these notebooks were miracles.
As a researcher, he was well aware of the complexity of research.
In just a month, so many theoretical formulas were derived, so many practical results developed, and many hypotheses proposed along with the negation of certain immature conclusions.
This was a miracle.
"Yes, Master." Ansen devoutly performed a Church greeting.
After leaving the institute, Richard returned to the Secret Realm, but he did not rush to ask Ulysses how the material collection was going; instead, he went straight to the Divine Palace Laboratory.
He had an idea he needed Lan, the main controller, to answer.
Upon entering the laboratory, Lan's projection immediately appeared before Richard.
"Lord Richard, are you here to look at the werewolf's transformation direction?"
"Uh... What?"
Richard was somewhat confused by Lan's question, he quickly searched through his memory - he didn't recall instructing Lan to design a werewolf transformation plan.
Seeing Richard's face full of confusion, Lan immediately understood.
"It seems Lord Ulysses forgot to inform you."
Hearing this, Richard realized.
"He asked you for it, huh. That's fine then. How's the plan design coming along?"
"Very smoothly," Lan smiled lightly, and several design drawings appeared in front of Richard.
"The werewolf race has a solid foundation and can adapt to various transformations. However, my top recommendation is the combination of werewolves and wild beastmen to create the insane wolf transformation."
Lan moved a particularly robust-looking design drawing in front of Richard.
"Although according to your words, wild beastmen pursue both paths simultaneously. But based on my analysis of their bloodline, wild beastmen don't possess any remarkable talents in Spiritual Evolution. Instead, they have an exceptional talent in Physique Evolution.
And coincidentally, the werewolf race also possesses exceptional talent in Physique Evolution. The combination of life information from these two, along with Black Crystal Insect, the Dragon Clan, and some fragments from other races, results in what I temporarily named the insane wolf design."
Richard looked at the construct filled with Pioneer design habits and nodded slightly.
"What are his advantages? And the shortcomings?"
"This transformation has numerous advantages, such as an overall enhancement of the body's functions, inheriting the wild beastmen's Idealism Talent, and an astounding Physique Evolution Talent."
"Evolution Talent?" Richard was somewhat unfamiliar with this term.
Lan explained calmly, "Evolution Talent evaluates a race's difficulty in entering the next stage of evolution. Talents are divided into two types: Physique and Spiritual.
Your race, humanity, in my database, has a Physique Evolution Talent rating of 4.5, even lower than goblins. But in terms of Spiritual Evolution, humans possess a rating of 2, which is among the top in flesh creatures."
"Humanity's Physique Evolution Talent is so low?" Richard said with some surprise, "Then pursuing Physique Evolution would be asking for trouble?"
"If you haven't mastered Life Editing and only developed human bloodline, that would be the case," Lan nodded. "If other creatures' bloodlines are introduced, it will inevitably lead to changes in talents. If Life Editing is mastered, then the Physique Evolution Talent becomes meaningless."
Richard nodded slightly and then asked, "Then what's the Evolution Talent of this transformed werewolf?"
"Its talent is one."
"Describe it."
"Before becoming a Fourth Level being, their Physique Evolution path is virtually unobstructed."
"The cost?"
"They have no reproductive capability, extremely high transformation difficulty, and very low resistance to Spiritual Attacks."
Richard slammed his hand down: "That's enough."
Spiritual Protection can be supplemented through Magic Equipment, witchcraft, and other means, but there's no way to compensate for talent. Clearing paths before the Fourth Level is akin to mass-producing Third Level creatures.
This would be an absolute treasure in any civilization.
"I have to remind you, the difficulty of this transformation is very high. Even if I were to take charge, I'd still have to find suitable candidates. If you expect others to conduct the modification, you'd better be prepared for a large number of failures."
Richard waved his hand: "You don't need to worry about that. I'm not using this thing to draw straws."
Saying this, Richard looked at the other modifications. These modifications were quite standard; Source Energy Master, Witch Doctor, and only the Divine Wind Warrior, who significantly boosts combat power by burning life, seemed interesting.
He nodded in agreement to these modifications one by one. Then he laid out the purpose of his visit.
"Lan, I need you to answer a question."
"Please, go ahead."
"How do you make the offspring of a species, after migrating from one world to another, be recognized by the World Origin of the local world?"
"That's simple, just mix-blood." Lan immediately replied.
"As long as the bloodline of the local creatures exceeds fifty percent, the World Origin will recognize this life."
"That's not feasible," Richard shook his head, "The primary bloodline must remain that of the main species, that is, the migrating species' bloodline."
"Then you'll have to resort to Life Editing."
Richard's heart stirred, he asked, "Explain in detail?"
Lan paused for a moment, seemingly organizing its language. Then it slowly opened: "Before explaining the principle, you need to know a point, and that is the mechanism by which the world recognizes a creature is multifaceted. The conditions include, bloodline, birthplace, and whether or not there is a curse on the body.
Among these, the most important are bloodline and birthplace.
The bloodline is simple, recognized life must contain the bloodline of the local creatures; this is a necessary condition. Beyond this condition, the birthplace is also a very important condition.
If it's a local pure-blood creature, they will be recognized by the world after returning from exile, with only a few exceptions, like when the world is being invaded by other races. But if it's a mixed blood, it mostly won't be recognized, with only extremely special situations such as saving the world being exceptions.
Through this mechanism, we can determine the rank of world recognition as: pure-blood locally born > mixed-blood locally born = pure-blood born in another land > mixed-blood born in another land > pure foreign race."
Richard slightly nodded, he had some experience with this sequencing. Even after saving the world, the world would only bestow protection, without granting any bit of Power of the World.
"After confirming this point, we can conclude that to have a mixed blood race with Otherworldly Creature bloodline be recognized, it must be born locally. Then there's the matter you mentioned, Sir Richard."
Lan finished with a slight smile, waving its hand, and a projection of a Life Core appeared in the air. In the complex spiral structure of the Life Core, most of the lights were lit, representing their activation.
"You understand Life Editing. So using a model demonstration, you'll understand. To meet your requirements, you can have this creature initially masquerade as if its bloodline purity exceeded fifty percent; then reduce this purity after its advancement. To meet this condition, you need to add a lock in the bloodline of this new race."
As he spoke, the complex spiral structure in the projection suddenly shifted, causing a problem in the connection of two life factors, resulting in a considerable segment of the Life Core falling into an unexpressed state.
"This is a congenital disease that can cause abnormal bloodline expression at birth, rendering a part of the primary bloodline's Life Core as useless junk. Yet when this creature becomes a First Level life form, this disease can be treated to achieve the result you want."
Upon hearing this solution, Richard exclaimed at its brilliance.
He hadn't expected the Life Core Defect disease could be used in such a way.
"This is indeed a brilliant solution. But wouldn't doing this cause changes in mentality?"
The alteration of the primary bloodline would inevitably lead to bodily changes, and consequently, spiritual changes.
"There will be some, but not severe," Lan replied, "It's like recovering from an old illness, there will be some discomfort. But with a bit of time, this bodily-induced psychological change will dissipate.
Instead of worrying about this, you should think about how you deal with the relationship between mixed blood races and pure blood races."
Richard raised an eyebrow: "Which race are you talking about?"
Lan calmly replied: "Both. The mixed blood races need to consider whether they align with the mother race or the father race, or establish themselves as a separate race. If you don't handle this issue well, your ideas might not come to fruition."
"You know what I'm thinking!?" Richard exclaimed in surprise.
"I don't know," Lan shook his head, "But I know, whatever you want them to do, this point cannot be avoided. Before reaching a level as powerful as you, a creature cannot leave society."
"..."
Richard rubbed his brow, and a drop of fresh blood oozed from his fingertip.
"Can my bloodline be used? I need you to create a mixed blood of human and werewolf, just as you mentioned earlier."
"Of course, it just might be slightly troublesome."
Without saying more, Richard turned and headed towards the laboratory.
"May I ask, what do you plan to do with these people? Warriors, logistics? Or perhaps..."
"Scholars," Richard said without turning his head.
"I intend to establish a Wizard Research Institute."
