Wizard Lord:I can Extract Anything

Chapter 393: Chapter 393: Inside the Spaceship

Amidst the yellow sand, swarms of Crystal Floating Cannons drifted like harbingers of death.

In the distance, the massive Precursor spaceship loomed like a fallen Magical Beast, emitting terrifying radiation.

Boom! A pitch-black fireball exploded in the air like a dark firework. Immediately after, over a dozen energy beams pierced through the darkness, homing in on the black-robed figure sprinting relentlessly toward the ship.

Buzz… Buzz…

The hum of the floating cannons made Richard's ears ring. The energy beams struck him like sledgehammers, shattering his scales and tearing his flesh.

Yet, he made no effort to defend against them.

Resisting would consume Magic Power—and right now, Magic Power was the one thing Richard needed most.

The radiation near the ship was far more intense than Richard had anticipated. Over just a few dozen kilometers, the energy radiation in the air had doubled in strength.

To withstand it, Richard had to channel all his Magic Power into maintaining the regeneration of his cells.

As for the floating cannons' attacks? A mere trifle.

In fact, their force even helped propel him forward.

Energy radiation was far deadlier than their beams.

Suddenly, several dark-red glints caught Richard's eye.

Ahead, over a dozen floating cannons had somehow flanked him.

Buzz… Buzz…

Dozens of energy beams rained down on Richard like arrows, forcing him to dodge sideways.

The beams from behind could still provide momentum, but taking hits from the front would do him no good.

Yet, as he dodged, Richard sensed something amiss.

A quick glance to his sides made his body stiffen.

Dozens of Crystal Floating Cannons were closing in on both flanks, attempting to encircle him. If they succeeded, a massive deceleration field would form.

At that point, even Shadow Step might not guarantee his escape.

Shadow Step had its limits in distance.

"Damn it."

Richard's expression darkened as he abruptly halted. Then, with a single step, his figure flashed behind him—right in front of the floating cannons that had been chasing him.

Moving forward would trap him in the deceleration field. Retreating was a desperate gamble, but as long as he avoided the field, there was still a sliver of hope.

That was enough for Richard to take the risk.

Gripping his staff with both hands, Richard channeled his Magic Power. Three crisp cracks rang out as the World Tree Staff struck three times in midair, shattering three Crystal Floating Cannons—energy shields and all—into fragments.

This was the secret technique of Evermountain Temple: the Mountain-Climbing Staff Art.

In the Mountain World, peaks were steep, and climbing them often required a staff. The mountains there were hardened by wind and rain, their surfaces smooth and treacherous.

To ascend, one had to thrust an iron staff into the rock with enough force to embed it an inch deep—only then could the climb proceed safely.

This staff art was born from that necessity.

The brilliance of the Mountain-Climbing Staff Art lay in the synergy between muscle control and energy circulation, allowing immense power to erupt within the smallest movements.

It was one of the most cost-effective weapon techniques in Evermountain Temple's legacy.

As the floating cannons shattered, Richard prepared to bolt backward—but a sudden avian cry in the distance froze him in place.

A pitch-black beast wreathed in dark flames swept past the floating cannons like a tiger descending a mountain.

In the next instant, black flames engulfed them, melting and warping their forms in mere moments.

"Caw caw caw, Richard, you look rather disheveled."

The black-flamed beast cackled as it flew to Richard's side, transforming into a black crow.

The newcomer was none other than Ulysses, who had been separated from Richard due to a teleportation mishap.

Seeing Ulysses, Richard felt a wave of relief and chuckled, "Cut the chatter, let's get moving. These things are endless."

"Tch, not even a word of thanks for the rescue," Ulysses clicked his tongue in annoyance.

With that, his form suddenly expanded, his crow claws gripping Richard's shoulders as he flew toward the spaceship.

Any nearby Crystal Floating Cannons that approached would spontaneously ignite with black flames.

"Whoa, that's some impressive skill," Richard remarked, genuinely surprised by Ulysses's technique.

Ulysses's voice carried a hint of pride, "Just a minor trick. It's all thanks to the energy radiation around here—otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to pull it off."

Before long, the two arrived at the base of the spaceship.

The yellow sand outside the ship was littered with melted crystal puppets.

Seeing this, Richard couldn't help but feel a pang of dread. Given the sheer number of puppets outside the ship, even without the Floating Cannons, his chances of survival would have been slim.

Ulysses set Richard down. "Alright, hop off. Those Floating Cannons can't get through here."

Richard clutched the Magic Essence in his hand, his Magic Barrier rippling continuously.

The energy radiation near the spaceship had reached terrifying levels. Even Richard's Magic Barrier couldn't fully withstand it—he had to layer it with his Myriad Transformation Battle Body to ensure safety.

"How do we get inside this place?"

Richard stared at the colossal structure before him. Composed of crystal and metal, its surface was impeccably smooth, with no visible entry points like a hatch.

"Who knows? Personally, I suggest burning our way in. These crystals don't seem very heat-resistant."

"Burn our way in?"

Richard frowned slightly—that didn't sound like a good plan.

They could recklessly explore the ruined Crystal Spires because those structures lacked energy.

But this spaceship clearly wasn't devoid of power.

If they accidentally triggered its defense systems, the consequences would be far worse than dealing with the Floating Cannons.

Richard approached the ship, using his psychic senses to search for any traces on its surface.

But the moment he stepped close, a red beam shot out from the ship, landing on him.

[Identity confirmed: Dragon King Species]

Once Richard's identity was verified, the light instantly turned from red to green, and an opening appeared at the edge of the ship.

Ulysses, witnessing this, gave Richard a curious once-over.

"Richard, be honest—are you really a pure-blooded human? How come this thing just opens for you but doesn't react to me at all?"

Richard stroked his chin, brushing off Ulysses's jest.

He speculated, "It's probably because of the Dragon Blood. Dragons must have held a much higher status in Precursor civilization than we thought."

Whatever the reason, they now had a way inside.

The two flew toward the entrance, but an energy barrier abruptly blocked Ulysses.

[Unknown advanced lifeform detected attempting to enter the fortress. Registration required.]

A cold voice suddenly rang in Richard's ear, startling him.

But upon clearly hearing its content, Richard replied in Dragon Language, "This is my... pet."

[Identity registration in progress, please wait]

[Identity registration complete. Welcome to World Tree No.3 Astral Fortress]

"This thing is quite intelligent," Ulysses flew onto Richard's shoulder and whispered in his ear, "There's probably a tower spirit inside. You'd better be prepared."

"Understood."

As the two entered, the spacecraft's hatch immediately closed.

In the next instant, all the energy radiation permeating the air completely disappeared.

Even space itself became stabilized.

Richard was slightly startled but quickly regained his composure. After all, both radiation-proof materials and spatial stabilizers were standard in Wizards' Floating Cities.

With space now stabilized, Richard and Ulysses worked together to forcibly open a Mystic Realm Rift against the spatial anchors, allowing Hogg and the Serpent King to emerge.

This action once again drew the spacecraft AI's attention.

[Warning: All spatial manipulation within the Astral Fortress must be registered and reported. Dragon King species, you have violated spacecraft regulations. Repeat offenses will require automatic confinement in the temporal detention chamber]

But warnings aside, Richard's action was successful.

Both the Serpent King and Hogg successfully emerged from the Secret Realm.

After completing registration, Hogg looked around with dazed eyes.

"Where is this?"

The surroundings seemed to act as a key, triggering ancient memories that kept surfacing in his mind.

Meanwhile, the Serpent King also fell into deep thought as he observed the spacecraft interior. But his memory assimilation was swift, and he soon recognized their location.

"The Supreme's Astral Fortress!" the Serpent King exclaimed.

"Correct, an Astral Fortress," Richard nodded slightly. "Does your bloodline inheritance contain any additional information? We're currently in a crashed Astral Fortress, and I need a guide to help me find something."

"What are you seeking?" asked the Serpent King.

Richard smiled faintly, a flash of ambition in his eyes.

"I'm looking for star charts."

...

Star charts were the most valuable items the Precursor civilization could offer to Wizard civilization.

The current efficiency of Wizard civilization in obtaining world coordinates was too low, leaving many Great Wizards unable to launch interplanetary expeditions for millennia.

This significantly hindered the progress of the Wizard World.

But if Wizards could obtain Precursor star charts, they could deduce all world coordinates recorded by the Precursor civilization.

Thereby greatly accelerating the Wizard civilization's conquests.

Richard didn't even hope for complete star charts—even fragmented ones would satisfy him.

A partial star chart would be enough to exchange for substantial benefits from Great Wizards or even the Tower of Truth.

If the charts contained sufficient information, he might even trade them for an opportunity to advance to Great Wizard status.

Even with highly fragmented charts, he could exchange them for two permanent fiefdoms. Or simply keep them hidden until becoming a Great Wizard to conquer worlds himself.

"The command center... let me think."

The Serpent King wasn't surprised by Richard's request, having learned about Wizard civilization's general situation from Hogg.

Overall, it was a vibrant, thriving civilization.

The star charts left by The Supreme could significantly accelerate the Wizard civilization's growth.

After a moment of thought, the Serpent King suddenly opened his eyes.

Then, Richard saw him speak to the spaceship wall:

"Fortress main control, where is the command center?"

Watching this scene, Richard was stunned for a moment. Immediately after, he saw the Serpent King turn to him and say:

"The command center is somewhat dangerous. The main control informs me that it's under attack by unknown enemies and currently within the radiation range of the Power Furnace."
