Chapter 79: Water Release: Water Severing Wave

Was the Daimyo of the Land of Fire and the Daimyo of the Land of Water planning a rebellion? Ino wasn't particularly concerned. After all, if the sky fell, there were taller people to hold it up. Knowing that they were scheming something in the shadows was enough for her. She just needed to keep it in mind.

This "pot" was extremely valuable, but if she tried to pass it off now, the benefits and scale of the operation couldn't be guaranteed. She needed to play it safe for the time being.

The skinny samurai couldn't be left alive. She snapped his neck and threw the body into the sea. The currents would take care of the rest, leaving no trace behind.

After cleaning up the scene, Ino returned to Tazuna the bridge builder's house.

She handed the snacks to Choji and decided to practice on the four fish she had just bought.

Without exception, all four fish died under her "treatment."

The first hurdle of medical ninjutsu was truly difficult.

Ino handed the dead fish to Choji. "Let's have grilled fish for dinner tonight."

After dinner, while everyone was still around, Ino took the opportunity to ask Asuma about the Water Dragon Bullet technique.

"Asuma-sensei, do you think there's something wrong with my hand seals for the Water Dragon Bullet?"

"Asuma-sensei, can the Water Dragon Bullet hit distant targets? What's the maximum range?"

Ino rambled on about the Water Dragon Bullet for a full ten minutes before glancing sideways at the Sixth Hokage, who was rolling his eyes.

"Kakashi-sensei, when I practice the Water Severing Wave, I always struggle to control the water pressure accurately. Could you help me test its power using your Earth-Style Wall?"

Kakashi was no fool. He immediately realized that his little secret of "borrowing" the Water Dragon Bullet technique had been exposed.

It wasn't like he had intentionally stolen it. He had just happened to pass by the training ground that day and saw a water dragon soaring into the sky. Out of habit, he had taken a closer look.

The Water Dragon Bullet that the Second Hokage had simplified was a work of art compared to the standard version. Not copying it would have been a disservice to the Sharingan that Obito had given him.

Compared to the Second Hokage's genius, his own modification of adding four dog heads to the Earth-Style Wall was downright embarrassing.

"Heh heh heh..." Kakashi laughed awkwardly. "No problem."

The Land of Waves was too small, and there weren't many structures on the island. Ino had just learned the "Water Release: Water Severing Wave," and she felt an itch to test it on something. But there was nothing on the island worth cutting.

Cutting trees? Cutting houses? Neither seemed appropriate.

She decided to follow the Second Hokage's spirit and use Water Release to cut through Earth Release.

A B-rank Water Severing Wave was best tested against a B-rank Earth-Style Wall. And the only person on the island who could use Earth-Style Wall was Kakashi.

"Earth Release: Earth-Style Wall!" The two of them went outside, with Asuma following shortly after. Kakashi quickly formed three hand seals and slammed his hands on the ground, causing a thick earthen wall to rise.

The most eye-catching feature was the four dog heads in the center of the wall.

Ino wasn't sure if this version was harder than the standard Earth-Style Wall, but she was about to find out!

The Water Severing Wave was different from the widely known Water Release techniques that the Second Hokage had modified. This was a Water Release technique he had created himself.

It was easy to learn but difficult to master. Spitting water? Anyone could do that. But applying enough pressure to cut through an Earth-Style Wall, or even the roots of the God Tree, was a different story.

If you only learned the basics, it could be considered a B-rank technique. But to achieve enough lethality, both talent and hard work were essential, making its true learning difficulty at least A-rank.

Ino gathered water-natured chakra in her mouth, using hand seals to increase the pressure. Once she reached her limit, she spat it out at the earthen wall.

The wall only suffered a finger-deep hole, and the water cut less than half a meter before its energy was exhausted.

"Water Release: Water Severing Wave!"

Ino used the technique over ten times in a row. The jutsu didn't consume much chakra, and with her current reserves, the cost was negligible.

The only way to fully master this technique and increase its power was through practice!

By now, Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura had also come out to watch. Ino didn't plan to keep it a secret. Under Naruto's slightly puzzled gaze, she formed the "Ram" seal with her index and middle fingers crossed, creating nine shadow clones. Including her main body, ten Inos began relentlessly firing Water Severing Waves at the wall.

Debris and water sprayed everywhere. Kakashi increased his chakra output to reinforce the wall before moving to the side.

Naruto, with his hands behind his head, squinted as he observed Ino's nine shadow clones.

He looked confused, unsure why Ino had created so many clones. After some thought, he turned to Sakura and Sasuke, the "good students," but didn't get an answer. Finally, he approached Kakashi, with Sakura and Sasuke also leaning in to listen.

Naruto asked curiously, "Kakashi-sensei, what's Ino doing? Why is she making so many shadow clones?"

Scratching his head, Kakashi knew the answer but felt it wasn't necessary to explain at the moment. However, Naruto was persistent the more you avoided the question, the more he wanted to know.

"Alright, alright. It's not really a secret," Kakashi said, choosing his words carefully. "Naruto, you know how when you dispel a shadow clone, you gain all the experiences and memories of the clone, right?"

Naruto looked blank. Kakashi realized he wasn't getting it and decided to elaborate. "It's actually a unique training method. By using shadow clones, which have their own chakra and can return their memories to the main body, you can speed up your training."

Naruto, with his poor fundamentals, was still confused. Sasuke, however, understood immediately. He was shocked. "There's a method like that?! So, creating one shadow clone doubles your training speed, and ten clones would make it ten times faster?!"

With his Sharingan officially awakened, Sasuke had thought he had surpassed Ino. But now, hearing that Ino's training speed was ten times that of a normal person, he couldn't stay calm.

Kakashi chuckled dryly. "It's not exactly ten times. Some techniques still require the main body to train personally..."

Naruto finally caught on and was ecstatic. "Kakashi-sensei, does that mean I can train like this too? I can make a hundred no, two hundred no, five hundred shadow clones!"

Kakashi smiled without answering. Naruto ran off, shouting excitedly, and created two hundred shadow clones in one go. He could have made more, but Tazuna's house didn't have enough space to accommodate them.

"Hey! What are you doing?" Shikamaru, who had been napping under a tree, was suddenly pushed aside by Naruto's chaotic rush to create clones.

Naruto ignored him. The two hundred shadow clones raised their hands in unison, cheering, "Let's train! Two hundred times speed!"

Half a minute later, the two hundred clones looked at each other and realized a problem. They had the numbers, but what were they supposed to train? They didn't actually know any techniques!
