Chapter 1: Chapter One
As you open the front door, the hall in front of you seems to be small and seems to only go for a few feet before going into the next room. On your left you see a small coat rack, as you walk into the next room, a faint static can be heard from a different room. The static makes you feel cluttered and uncomfortable. As you continue to walk along the wall to your right, you pass a table with 2 chairs facing away from one another on your left, one of the chairs is facing the way you walked in. Further down on the same wall is an L-shaped marble counter with wooden drawers. Connected to the wall in front of you is a corridor leading to another hall, right next to the corridor is a second corridor that leads to a room. As you walk closer to the room to try and turn off whatever is making that noise, it is the TV. Now that you are closer to the corridor, the static is much louder but you can hear some other kind of static infused with the TV static.
*Why is the TV on, let alone on an offline channel?* You thought with concern.
As you walk closer to the static, you remember that everything was shut off before leaving and you are the only one home currently. As your hands touch the edge of the corridor, now shivering from the thought that someone has broken into the house. The static is so loud that it could pop someone's eardrums. When you peek around the corner, all you can see is a tall, bulky, black, metallic figure, looking around for something. As it picks up a book and looks at it, your glance staggered over to the TV to see it is shut off.
"Is that thing producing the static?" You say under your shallow shaky breath. Now for some reason, you can't seem to focus on any of the features of this creature, your vision is becoming blurry and you start to black out.
*Is this death?* You think while time seems to be slowing down. *I can't die now, I haven't-*
You snap back to reality when the beast suddenly stops making the noise, and you look up now in absolute terror. The beast starts to slowly turn its big metallic structural face towards you, the poor metal; sounding like it is being strained past its limits. The only thing you can picture is nails on a chalkboard but much worse. Its face, now turned at you with a look like a cat found its prey. It seems to have razor-sharp teeth that look like they can rip a car apart. Its long, sharp metal claws start to move in a way that doesn't look possible, its talons overlapping, bending backward and still scraping on one another. Now facing directly at you, it spreads huge sharp metal wings and starts shuddering towards you, the wings destroying the walls and the popcorn ceiling, slowing it down to have time to escape. You take this opportunity and dart out of the room, and the creature starts pursuing you.
As the creature is running toward you it is being crushed and tripped by the debris falling all over. You bolt for the front door as the monster throws its head around the corner and lets out another ear-piercing shriek that makes you want to scream in agony. You drop to the floor only a few feet from the front door and your legs are unable to move. You look around to see the table about a foot away from you and you start to army crawl. As you grab the table and start pulling yourself up with all of your strength, you look back and see the monster's massive body scrape across the side of the wall, the creature looks much bigger than it did before it shrieks once more, and this time not affected by its attack.
As the monster swings its big hand at you, its giant claws start tearing at your sleeve. All you can do is stumble back in hopes of getting out of the attack, but the beast starts swinging its claws at you. You trip and fall over debris while trying to avoid the attacks. The beast is much slower from running into objects and it tries to slice at you once more.
As the creature reaches out to attack you once again, you jump back hoping to evade the attack, but the monster learns from its mistake and launches its hand out to grab you instead of slashing. The cold hands of the demon creature wrap around your body and you are unable to move. Now in its cold hard grip, it scans you. Two cords with yellow glowing ends come out of its shoulders and they circle your body, both of them shooting out a beam of yellow light to scan your body.
When they finish the scanning, the little scanner looks at you with a curious look. The scanner goes back into the creature's shoulders, then the creature raises its claw for the finishing blow. As the claw approaches your face, you close your eyes awaiting your death. You wait, and wait and nothing happens. you open your eyes, the claw, did it stop? While the beast is trying to force itself to continue its attack, it is thrown to the back wall by some sort of force. The creature loosens its grip, and you tumble to the ground. The force grabs you by the collar and throws you, but this time the force throws you toward the front door. As you are inches away from being squashed on the front door, it flies open and you get flung outside. The door slammed behind you and you were blinded by the bright sunlight. Now you are sitting on a cold wet concrete sidewalk your whole body shivers while trying to understand what the fuck just happened. You think to yourself *Am I safe now?*
After what felt like a century, you creak open the door and walk inside the house to see the yellow wallpaper ripped off the walls, gouges running down the corridor revealing broken shards of wood and brick, which were also present on the floor.
The roof has holes freckled all over and there are chunks of wood all over the ground. As you stride forward, a person in a ripped trench cloak walks past you, all you can see is a silhouette of a cloaked person who appears feminine. The monster does its shriek once more, now you are paralyzed at the door and watching the fight that unfolds.
The woman drops to one knee from the shriek, she stands up shortly after, and now the monster is standing right over her. As the beast punched straight down, it was so fast that you couldn't see what happened and when the dust settled. She isn't there but the floor crumbled in and cracks are running through the tiles and the walls. Now you can see the floorboards that were under the tiles, you can also see the cement under everything. As the creature is looking around trying to find the woman, there is light tapping under the beast, and as soon as the beast looks down; comes a blinding yellow light made up of energy that incinerates the floor underneath it. As the beast was falling from the crumbing floorboards, it used the cords that it used to scan you previously to stay suspended in the air. It seemed that the monster instantly fell again from the lack of support in the roof into the pit.
You can't see anything except for sparks and blood flying through the air. When you're still trying to understand what is going on, you hear metal on metal, bricks falling, and the words " Y𝙹⚍ ᔑ∷ᒷ リ𝙹∴ ⊣𝙹╎リ⊣ ℸ ̣ 𝙹 ↸╎ᒷ " and a bright bluish purple light flies out of the hole. Soon after, you see the feminine figure crawl out of the pit, as soon as she stands up and limps towards you, the roof starts to collapse. Right before the roof falls on her, she runs to our table and uses it as protection from the rubble. After the whole kitchen and maybe the living room roof fell in. You look up at the dark sky and feel the wet rain hit your face. You were lucky to be alive right now and the thought of joining your father tonight scared you. About fifteen minutes after the roof collapsed, you hear the rubble moving again and after a few minutes of this, you see the woman appear and now you can somewhat see what she looks like. Before you can get a description of her, she walks towards you and puts her hand on your head. She says " Sꖎᒷᒷ!¡ ". You start to get drowsy and your vision starts unfocusing and your eyes close, before you fall asleep you hear "Repair, Ten times speed."
When you wake up still leaning on the door, you find the room is fixed. Every trace of the beast and the woman is gone, but you vividly remember what happened. You retrace your steps to find a trace of it and you find that the room where the beast was first is still torn up. You start worrying that the thing will come back, in your fit of shock you sit down on one of the chairs at the table that is completely dirty. After what seems like ages, you get up and walk towards the room again. The room still looks torn up… But less? Like it was fixing itself, pieces of debris started rising from the floor to the walls and ceiling, wallpaper connecting and sticking back to the wall. As you look around, the furniture in there is being fixed as well, you sit on the floor in the corridor wondering if this is real or a dream. You look at your hand and pinch yourself to make sure and it feels real, but yet still not convinced. You slap yourself extremely hard, the sting lingers after the slap and starts filling your face. You look around once more and you are now convinced it was real. You think back to the girl who saved you, wondering who or what she was.
*Where did she go or come from?* You thought as you continued to recall every moment from the previous night. You look around once more and the room is almost fully constructed, the couch in the center of the right wall completely fixed, an old box TV on a dresser in the left corner, shelves all over, with books still on the floor. The rug flown to the wall starts setting itself back out onto the middle of the floor. then you looked around once more.
*How is this possible?* Once you are done looking at everything, you remember her again. *I hope I can remember who she was.*
When you stand up, you hear the front door unlock and open, you hear footsteps coming to the room you are in, and you see a familiar figure walking past the corridor and into the other hall room.
"Hi, Mom," You say to her.
As your mom walks past the corridor, she looks at you, smiles, and waves. She has dark dirty blond hair and pretty blue eyes, she is wearing a black hoodie with her job name printed on the back and she looks extremely tired, with the bags under her eyes. When she walks away, you flop back on the couch and let out a big sigh, you look at the time and date, it is Saturday, October 21st, at 2:00 in the afternoon. When you realize this, you spring right up. As you get up, you walk over to the right side of the kitchen where the fridge is, open the fridge, and grab a drink. You pop the tab, and the nice crack and the sizzle of the drink, the nice sharp smell of the drink is like a chocolate, vanilla sensation. As you take a drink, you feel a warm but cold taste, a tart but sweet taste, everything you can think about was there, it was perfect. When you are done drinking, you get a surge of energy. You walk around and start doing some cleaning before you start to cook.
As you look around you notice that there are plates in the sink, the counter's dirty, and the table is full of clutter. You take a deep breath and walk to the table to start cleaning it off.
When you are up to the table you see the nice design, Roman numerals from 1 through 12 going from left to right on each side, the legs of the table have tree branches that are a gold and silver color. The main top of the table is a picture of Thor and his hammer Mjolnir, his brother Loki, and their father Odin. Thor is portrayed as a tall, muscular, male, who is summoning lightning behind him with his hammer. Loki is tall, and slightly muscular, enough to make a person think he has gone to the gym every day for the last few months. He has a green energy and snakes around him, with the horns on his helmet also turning into a snake and standing compellingly evil. Odin is sitting on a throne. He is shorter than his children, has white hair, muscular like his children, he is holding a spear and has armor on, he is radiating divine energy from his body, almost like he is keeping eyes on all the realms.
When you wipe the table with a rag, you see the top paint is coming off, it is a hard unsaturated wood, you see this and hide it with a vase your mom bought recently. As you walk away with the two plates to go do the dishes when you hear the silverware clanking. You remember the mechanical creature and how it almost killed you less than 24 hours ago when you remember this. Your heart starts racing and the adrenalin starts running through your body, you rush over to the sink, set down the plate, and drop to the floor hyperventilating. You crawl over to the countertop and grab a device and you attach it to your chest and you start to calm down.
*I am lucky Mom bought this with us when we moved* you thought while leaning against the counter. You sat there for a few minutes.
When you get up and detach the device with the device making a hissing noise. You walk over to the sink and start doing the dishes, you put on rubber gloves and start grabbing everything and start washing them. The clacking sound of everything makes you remember everything. But the second you remember the hooded figure, you get startled by a plate hitting and shattering on the ground, when you collect your thoughts, you look down to find a plate with a design similar to the one on the table, but instead of Thor, Loki, and Odin, it is greek gods, Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades, with the same golden, silver tree branches. The plate is broken exactly where the lines separating them are. I wonder what that could mean.
*Where did this come from?* you think, *Maybe mom dropped it off?*
You walk to the right side of the fridge and grab the broom, when you walk to the broken plate, you start sweeping it into a pile. Then you bend down to sweep it into the dustbin you see underneath the table, there is a scratched picture, but you can't see what it is. You shrug it off because the table is old and has been in the family for decades. When you stand up to throw the plate away, you hear the door unlock…
*But I thought, wait…* You run to the second corridor next to the living room corridor, the wallpaper is the same and the flooring is too, but there are three doors, a bathroom, and two bedrooms. You run to the back room at the end of the hall and go through the door. This is your mom's clean room with a bed in the far left corner, and a dresser facing the bed right in front of you touching both the back wall and right wall. But nobody is there.
*But I swear I heard my mom come through the door and go to her room. Was I wrong?*
You run back to the front door and go and act like you are doing the dishes. When you hear the door open, your mom looks exactly like how she did earlier, wearing her hoodie, and bags under her eyes and you look closer into her eyes and you feel that something is off. Her eyes didn't have a twinkle of joy or comfort, her eyes were stale and sad, she seemed like she had just seen a horrifying sight.
"Why are you staring at me? Are you ok?" She said in a questioning but comforting tone.
"Yeah, I'm fine, I just had some crazy dreams." You said hoping she would take that as an excuse.
"Ok, well I am going to go lay down, work was a pain in my ass. That new job is going to kill me."
"Wasn't last night the first time you got done with your training?"
"Yeah it was, and I want to quit now, but I have to pay the bills and-" Now walking towards her room.
"And what?"
"Huh? I didn't say and, I just said I have to pay the bills."
"Um, okay, goodnight"
Then Mom walked past the corridor, out of sight. Now you faced the sink and finished the dishes while still thinking about how her eyes had lost all the shine they had so long ago. Your mother had always had a hard life from the loss of her mom at the age of seven, her father being abusive and controlling. Then at the age of 16 her grandma was diagnosed with cancer and shortly passed, then she found out she had a brother that was part of an organization of some sort. Which ended up being a blessing for her, then she got married and had me a few years later. But before me, I had a brother named Wade Becker, he got the name Wade from my grandpa. We were twins, I have no memories of him but my mom says that is because he passed when I was young. And I don't know what happened to my dad because my mom won't talk about it.
Now saddened by remembering your mom's history, you're done with the dishes. As you turn around, you see your backpack next to the chair and your mom eating breakfast, your breakfast is on the table across from your mom.
"Come eat before you are late for school." Your mom says enthusiastically.
You sit down confused *School? But it's Saturday* You now looking at your watch says it is, Monday, seven o'clock, October 23rd.
"You ok?" asking your mom "You seem off today."
"Yeah, just a bit of Deja Vu is all." In a very concerned and slow tone
"Ok, make sure you eat and go to school."
