Kraig thought he wouldn't be able to sleep not until he woke up. He immediately sought for Yanarym who was already gone. He found a note that she would not be able to stay because she had to finish the assignment at home. Kraig looked at the window outside and it was still dark. He looked at the wall clock as he walked back to his room. It was four in the morning, he had slept for almost hours. He went to his room and sat on his bed. He closed his eyes and remembered what he did to her last night. He was frustrated and he ventured out on her. His eyebrows crossed in annoyance, he did not apologize after he did that to her… and he had the thought he did not need to.

Because she seemed not to care at all. "Ha." No matter how of a fool of her, she would know that she was being used as his sexual relief. But at the end of all that, she would still caringly brush his hair and put him to sleep. After experiencing that with him, she still did not despise him…

"What would you do if your wish of being hated suddenly came true?" He looked at the mirror in his room as the thought popped into his mind. He stared at himself for a while, he was dazed at the possibility however, it was an impossible scenario that could happen between them. He could not picture a moment where she would treat him like a stranger. Albeit, he was the one who could regard her as nonentity the sooner his affection for her ran out.

"She can never hate me, no matter what I do to her—she will love me."

"You're so full of yourself." Kraig laughed at himself. It was an eerie laugh, it was deep and there was no humor in it. He could not even jeer that he was talking to himself at this moment.

"She will never abandon me." Kraig clenched his fist and cracked the mirror before he turned to look away.

YANARYM blinked her eyes and closed them again to go back to sleep before Matteo noticed that she was awake. She got home and Matteo was sulking because she almost slept over at Kraig's house. Matteo really did not like her sleeping over somewhere he was not there. Although she did not need to coax Matteo, he still acted sullen for her to comply with their request to sleep together. Though, she knew he would not sleep at all, only pretending to be asleep.

Ugh, why am I weak to beauty? I should be immune by now.

Guide-sama: "I don't understand him or you."

Him? Him who? Teo? Why? I don't understand why he wanted to pretend to sleep too. Don't ask me.

Guide-sama: "Who else? Kraig, not Matteo. Matteo is much more reasonable than Kraig in all aspects." Yanarym looked at Matteo who was nestling in her arms, his face buried on her chest and she could assume he was being cozy at the moment.

They just finished creating the potion, or should she say—Matteo was the one who finished the assignment of hers and Kraig's. Well, she couldn't create the assignment alone, although she could do the mixture she needed some assistance from someone who could activate the magic essence of the potion. The original never took the potion class so seriously that was why Yanarym did not know how to deal with this magical stuff. Her recent courses in the academy that were correlated with mana were all theoretical. Next year, she would be busy dealing with an actual magic exhibition, though she would probably be assigned to a non-mana student that would be apart from the main leads.

You know, when you decided to bring me to this magic world at least I should be somewhat empowered to truly experience this magic stuff.

Guide-sama: "I'll keep that in mind, however, tell me why'd you let Kraig do that to you." Yanarym frowned, Guide-sama would start nagging again. She wanted to sleep but her system was fully awake after that two-hour nap.

It's fine, it is the main point of this relationship I have with him.

Guide-sama: "For you, to become his tool? I thought you wanted revenge?"

Yes, and I'm not a tool. I'm his oasis. If he is sad, I'll make him happy. If he is angry, I'll have to coax him. If he is frustrated, I'll have to console him. Being always be there for him is enough torture once he realized the relief he felt was an illusion.

Guide-sama: "... that is your revenge on Kraig?"

Guide-sama: "I don't think that's enough."

Guide-sama: "I don't find him likable."

Guide-sama: "Not Matteo?"

Teo… I don't know why but I have a difficult disposition with Teo.

Guide-sama: "Matteo is better than them!"

I'm happy, alright? Yanarym laughed at Guide-sama's sulking. Although it sounded so dull, because of its robotic tone she could discern the concern. I'm having fun playing karmic lessons with these people. In addition, I could see how vexed Tiana was for the past few days.

Guide-sama: "...Yanarym, I understand that your punishment on Kraig is severe but can you explain why he wanted to hurt you badly? I kept on seeing his thoughts of intention to you."

Oh, that's why you're so displeased about him?

Guide-sama: "Detestable."

I guess he likes me too much?

Guide-sama: "Is that a joke? I don't think that's funny."

What? Why are you so grumpy?

Guide-sama: "If he likes you too much, he is supposed to treat you better. Why does he keep on doing like he wanted you gone when he has no intention of setting you free?"

Let's say the crueler he gets, the more he likes me.

Guide-sama: "You are smart but you sound dumb."

Heh! Did you just call me dumb?

Guide-sama: "Yes."

Shut up.

Guide-sama: "No, explain to me! So I can understand."

What I'm saying is Kraig was trying to test me. Like what I did to Teo last time. He wanted to see how much love I have for him.

Guide-sama: "He is too much. You did not hurt Matteo to that extent."

I told you, that's because his affection is growing.

Guide-sama: "But then, he's supposed to treat you better!"

Alright, relax Guide-sama. Every person has a different way of expressing themselves. Kraig is like that because he, himself, is not willing to be in love with me. Like Lyndon, he was fighting the expanding favor that I am aiming to have from him. And by being trash he could be at ease whenever I submit to him. Because that assured him that in the future if he had fallen, no matter what happened to us—I would be right beside him.

Guide-sama: "Humans have a fatuous way of falling in love. I can somehow understand why you don't fall in love, Yanarym."

Why do you even have to understand it? You cannot experience it either way.

Guide-sama: "Shut up."

What—! You're so cranky! You shut up!

"Are you awake? Can't sleep?" Matteo looked up at her and pulled her down to get their faces on the level. Yanarym nodded and yawned. "You should sleep, you have class in the morning, should we go to space, so you can sleep longer?" Matteo gently patted her back, Yanarym shook her head and closed her eyes.

"I'm fine, night-night," she whispered and slowly got drowned in the darkness of comfort. Whether she was too tired or energetic to sleep it did not matter. Matteo would put her to sleep by injecting her with some drowsy magic. Like what Guide-sama had mentioned, Matteo was better than the other two, however, Yanarym felt uncertain about Matteo. It was complicated to describe.
