WORST

"One of those reasons is I have minimal experience teaching someone, I thought to myself If I want to become a teacher I first must know how to handle children. Starting as a daycare helper might be a good start. Second, I need money to support my daily needs. I do receive money from my parents, though I try not to rely on them as much. And lastly…" I looked into Natalia's eyes and smiled "I am fond of children" I continued.

After I answered, there was a quick awkward silence. My eyes took turns to look at Mitch and Natalia's serious gazes.

Natalia's turned to Mitch who did the same thing. Then they both smiled and giggled at each other in unison.

I feel less uncomfortable, it seems like they both liked my answer. That's a relief. Phew~

"Oh my, did we scare you? I apologize" Mitch said putting her hands together and bowing her head.

"Sorry, Miss Megan. Mitch and I have a long history of working in big companies, so we tend to make people uncomfortable when talking business." Natalia added.

"Oh, I see ehe-he…" Geez no wonder the atmosphere earlier was intense. It seems they don't suspect me at all, That's good.

"Anyway back to the topic at hand," Mitch said getting Natalia and I's attention. She looked at my application papers one last time "I see… your reasons are understandable, I like that you want to financially support yourself very early as a college student" Mitch put down my application papers on the table and then locked her fingers together and rested her chin over it before continuing.

 "Also adding to your other reasons, I enjoy looking after children. based on my experience It's much harder to take care of infants than high schoolers! It takes more than hard work!" Mitch said, she frowned, raised her index finger, and continued. "It takes patience, care, understanding, and most importantly love!" Mitch said, fire of passion in her eyes.

Then Mitch held forth about how she enjoyed her job so much. Ugh, I don't understand the appeal of taking care of other people's children. Just thinking about it gives me a headache. Why give birth to them if you're only going to ask someone to care for them? And they call them self's parents? What a joke.

"Ahem, Mitch you are being too passionate again" Natalia coughed, snapping Mitch to stop.

"Opps~ I apologize," Mitch said in a foolish manner, tilting and tapping her head with her knuckle.

Why doesn't this woman act appropriately for her age!?

"Anyway, We are in desperate need of another helper, and we are more than happy to have you on board, but then again. Mitch is right, taking care of infants is a serious job. It's five times more difficult than taking care of a high schooler. So do you think you can handle the difficulty?" Natalia said.

I smiled and answered her "Of course I can!" I can handle any difficulty, just to get what I want. I may not like children but I'll tolerate it. Miss Natalia, sooner or later I'll have dancing on the palm of my hand. And humiliate your son.

"Then it's official, Miss Megan you are hired!" Natalia enthusiastically said.

"Oh really!? Thank you so much!! When do I start?" I said, pretending to be in joy.

"Excited are we?" Mitch giggled "How about tomorrow?"

"That would be fantastic!"

All three of us stood up and I shook both of their hands. And so I officially infiltrated James mothers workplace. The first step to my plan is complete.

"Now that you are officially a helper, a tour of the place is a must to familiarize yourself here. Nat, would you please walk Meggy around"

"With pleasure, now if you would follow me Miss Megan" Natalia said, guiding me outside of the employee's room.

 "Sure" I responded

Natalia and I walked around the daycare, she showed me the playground where children would play, the cafeteria, the storage room, and the washroom just at the end of the hallway right of the reception desk. "And lastly here is the classroom," Natalia said as soon as we stepped inside the room.

"Oh wow, how cute~!" I sarcastically said, but unnoticed by Natalia.

Inside there were more drawings of the kids glued to the wall. There was a white blackboard in front of the room, and at the back of the room was what seemed like a sleeping corner where children take naps after playing.

"And that is the end of our tour, I hope you've familarized yourself here if just ask us" She continued.

"Thank you very much," I responded. "Oh by the way, Miss Natalia," I said, taking out a small box out of my pocket and presenting it in front of her. "Happy birthday Miss Natalia~"

"Oh my, what is this?" She said, covering her mouth in surprise.

"I saw a post of your birthday on social media so it's only natural to great you even though it's late"

"You didn't have to go out of your way to give me this"

"No! I believe that giving someone their birthday present only shows how important and special it is, so I must also show how important and special you are Miss Natalia"

And how important you are to my plans.

Natalia hesitated for a bit before closing her eyes and sighing. She extended her hand accepting the gift. "Okay, if you insist," She said opening her eyes and smiling brightly at her gift.

Ouch… For some reason, I felt a …pinch? In my chest, strange. "Miss Natalia, Would like to open it?" I asked.

"Can I?" She responded.

"Of course, you can, it's your gift."

"O-Okay" Natalia unwrapped her gift and opened the small box. Her eyes widened by surprise. She pulled out a key chain with an image of a cute little queen bee hanging below it. Natalia then giggled and smiled.

 Well it looks like she likes it, that's good "What do you think, you like it?" I asked.

"Well I do, I've never had a keychain before." She said, spinning it around to inspect it, and then our eyes met "I do have a question though, why a queen bee?" 

"Well Miss Natalia, it's because I believe that all women are queens and must be treated that way. It also fits the theme of your daycare because you are the queen of this place"

"Oh my~ you flatter me," She said, her ears turning red. "But how about Mitch then? She's also the queen too" She jokingly said.

"Oh ah, he-he-he, then I'll have to gift her the same thing then, in fact, she did say that her birthday is a few months from now"

"Indeed, so you must prepare something special too"

"I will"

"I guess we should end our little secret here for now," She said winking at me. "Let us go back to Mitch. and thank you again for the gift Miss Megan"

"Please no need to be formal to me, Miss Natalia just call me Megan"

"Then I will do that, Megan"

After our chat, we walked back to Mitch who finished all the requirements that needed to be signed and added to have me on board. After shaking our hands one more time, we said our goodbyes. Tomorrow, I'll be introduced to the kids that I will be taking care of. And I am not looking forward to it.
