Chapter 176: The Art of Spirit Sealing

"A Celestial Talisman Tree?" Upon hearing the mention of this treasure from Mo Tie, both Lin Langtian and Lin Dong had a spark of excitement in their eyes.

The Celestial Talisman Tree was a unique heavenly treasure, highly coveted by those who trained in spiritual arts. For high-level talisman masters, it was like a godsend. According to legends, refining this tree could propel one to the status of a Heavenly Talisman Master—an accomplishment equivalent to reaching the Nirvana Realm in cultivation.

Now, Lin Langtian was already halfway to becoming a Heavenly Talisman Master. If he could obtain the Celestial Talisman Tree, he was almost certain he could reach that coveted level.

Mo Tie continued, "Although the Thunder Rock Valley houses countless treasures, it's perilous. Not only is it guarded by powerful beasts, but it's also full of dangerous seals. If you accidentally trigger one, you may never escape. A half-step Nirvana Realm expert once made it in but returned fatally poisoned and died soon after."

Lin Langtian didn't appear surprised. The Ancient Battlefield was no place for the faint-hearted. It held many treasures, but if one lacked strength, it was better to hide somewhere safe.

"Brother Mo Tie, are there any high-level dynasties stationed in Sun City?" Mo Ling asked. Since Lin Langtian had appointed him as the Flame Alliance's intelligence officer, he had become highly alert to these matters.

"No high-level dynasties have arrived in Sun City, but that doesn't mean they won't join the fray for the Ancient Key. There may already be high-level dynasties hiding in the mountains, waiting for the perfect time to act," Mo Tie replied with a shake of his head.

Lin Langtian nodded thoughtfully. He knew that several high-level dynasties did indeed exist within this northwestern region. Nevertheless, even they would have a hard time posing a threat to him.

Over the next few hours, Lin Langtian gathered additional intelligence from Mo Tie, who was more than willing to share. They talked extensively, and soon it was time for Lin Langtian and the others to take their leave.

"Lin Langtian, in five days, many of us from Sun City will head toward Thunder Rock Valley. We can go together for support along the way," Mo Tie offered with a laugh.

"That sounds good. Until then." Lin Langtian nodded, and with a wave, he led the members of the Flame Alliance back toward their residence.

As they traveled back through the city, Lin Dong looked over his shoulder and then turned to Lin Langtian. "Brother Langtian, are you considering joining forces with the Sky Iron Dynasty?"

"It's not exactly a partnership. We'll cooperate when it benefits us both, but don't worry. The Flame Alliance won't be used as anyone's tool," Lin Langtian replied with a smirk.

Reassured by his confidence, Lin Dong and the others nodded. Under Lin Langtian's leadership, the Flame Alliance was no weaker than a high-level dynasty. Given that they had recently eliminated the Sacred Light Dynasty, the Flame Alliance's reputation would soon spread across the northwest region, warning away any potential troublemakers.

As night settled over Sun City, its streets remained lively, ablaze with torchlight for miles around. Even wild beasts would not dare to invade this bustling hub, knowing the power gathered here.

The Flame Alliance took up residence in a central part of the city. Once everyone regrouped, Lin Langtian's group shared details of the encounter with the Sacred Light Dynasty. Upon hearing that Lin Langtian had killed Jin Mu in a single strike, the alliance members looked on in awe, casting him admiring, almost worshipful glances.

Lin Langtian merely shook his head at the looks they gave him. After giving a few instructions to Lin Dong and Mo Ling, he withdrew to his stone chamber.

Inside the stone room, a soft, warm glow flickered, casting shifting shadows across the walls.

"Aunt Ling, you said you had something for me?" Lin Langtian had hurried back because of Aunt Ling's cryptic message.

"It's something good, of course," Aunt Ling replied, her voice warm. With a slight smile, she opened her mouth, and from it emerged a wisp of dark Nine Nether Flame, which gradually coalesced into a black bone slip. Strange runes squirmed faintly on its surface.

Taking the black bone slip, Lin Langtian felt a surge of excitement. He glanced at the runes, which gradually formed into legible words: The Art of Spirit Sealing.

"Spirit Sealing Technique?" he murmured, intrigued.

"This technique is a rare treasure I acquired long ago, a mysterious skill rather than a martial art. Yet, it can yield extraordinary effects at the right moments."

Aunt Ling looked thoughtful as she continued, "Years ago, I met a peculiar man on a distant continent. His talent wasn't inferior to others, and he practiced day and night. However, even though he trained relentlessly, his strength never advanced. He seemed frozen in place, his power unchanged for years.

"People thought him mad—until the day he met a powerful adversary. In an instant, his strength soared to the continent's highest level." Aunt Ling's gaze grew distant with the memory.

"Did he use this Spirit Sealing Technique?" Lin Langtian asked in surprise.

"Yes. This art was created by an ancient master, using the principle of slow accumulation and sudden release. It's somewhat similar to sword-forging techniques, where you nurture your power like a sword over years. This art establishes a spiritual 'reservoir' within your body, storing strength over time until it's released all at once."

Aunt Ling gave a knowing smile. "I can tell you're ready to break into the Nirvana Realm, but lacking enough Nirvana Pills has forced you to hold off. This Spirit Sealing Technique, though incomplete, is perfect for your current situation. If you create a reservoir now, you can keep nurturing your strength. When you finally have enough Nirvana Pills, you can use that stored power to break through multiple levels without harming your foundation."

Lin Langtian's eyes lit up with renewed interest. Aunt Ling had indeed pinpointed his main issue—insufficient Nirvana Pills to fully advance. Lin Langtian was certainly ready to break into the Nirvana Realm but had learned that the Lin Dong of his past timeline required over two million Nirvana Pills to achieve the same feat.

Spending tens of thousands of Nirvana Pills on an initial breakthrough seemed far from ideal. The Spirit Sealing Technique could help him overcome this constraint, allowing him to amass energy while he waited. Once he acquired the resources from the Ancient Key, he could surge forward all at once.

Delighted by the prospect, Lin Langtian took the black bone slip and closed his eyes. Hours passed as he absorbed the technique's intricacies, and finally, he muttered with satisfaction, "No wonder it's a skill from the Great Thousand World. Remarkable…"

Taking a deep breath, Lin Langtian shut his eyes again and began to cultivate, muttering softly to himself, "I carry within me the breath of Nirvana, nurturing sun, moon, and stars…"
