Chapter 4: Chapter 4 : Qichi village ???

Sadly, they couldn't gather any information from Scar about the mysterious letter. Left with no other leads, TIS and Rover decided to head to Qichi Village the next day.

The Next Day

Rover and TIS arrived at Qichi Village, a once-vibrant place now reduced to ruins.

TIS: "Alright, here we are—Qichi Village. It really is abandoned, huh?"

Y Rover: "Especially because of the Tacet Field in the center."

TIS: "Where should we start looking?"

Y Rover: "There are two places that might give us clues about this letter."

TIS: "Uh-huh, go on."

F Rover: "First, the remnants scattered around the village. And second..."

TIS: "Tempest Mephis."

Y Rover: "Exactly. Let's start searching."

TIS and Rover decided to start their investigation among the remnants and ruins of Qichi Village. Dust and fragments of wood filled the air as they combed through the debris, searching for anything suspicious.

TIS: "So, what exactly are we looking for? A letter? An artifact? Or just something weird?"

F Rover: "Anything that looks out of place. Sometimes, the best clues come from the most unexpected things."

They carefully examined every corner, lifting broken pieces of walls and observing any traces left behind. A faint symbol carved into a piece of rubble caught Rover's attention.

F Rover: "TIS, take a look at this."

TIS: "Hmm, looks like some kind of engraving… but half of it is destroyed…."

F Rover: "Let's take it with us just in case. It might be connected to what we're looking for."

TIS : "Where are we going ?"

F Rover : "Taoyuan vale, I heard, some people there are actually Qichi villagers that moved out"

TIS : "Oh, fantastic then"

After that…

TIS : "Hey, cameramen" TIS whispers to me.

What is it ?

TIS : "After this, we will search for information regarding the Tacet field, attack, and others related to Qichi, I demand you to search the Qichi village okay", TIS said while still whispers to me.

Whyy ???

TIS : "Look for something similar to a portal, or maybe a crack in the ground, or weirdly acting people or TD"

Hold on, answer me FIRST !

TIS : "I'm sorry but I can't, if my instinct is correct this letter, and that faint carved symbol is leading to something beyond dangerous"

Y Rover : "TIS, what are you doing ? Let's go !"

TIS : "Comin…"

TIS : "Please Cameramen, I'll treat you to some Isopropil Alcohol, hehehe"

HAAAHHH, OKAY OKAY, I understand, I just need to look for it right ?

TIS : " Then report it to me"

Yeah yeah sure.

TIS : "Comin Rover, sorry I talk with cameramen for a bit"

Y Rover : "Fine TIS, seriously though, you really should quit that habit"

TIS : "Nahh"

Rover sigh deeply, and they left to Taoyuan Vale.

Arrival at Taoyuan Vale

As TIS and Rover arrived at Taoyuan Vale, they were greeted with an unexpected and chaotic scene. The once-serene village was in turmoil. Villagers were running in panic, their shouts echoing through the air. In the middle of the village stood a massive Howler, its bear-like form thrashing wildly as it unleashed destruction upon the surroundings.

The Howler's deep, guttural growls sent shivers down TIS's spine as it tore through wooden structures, its claws raking through anything in its path.

TIS: "Fantastic ! Just what we needed—a giant raging monster! Any plans, Rover?"

B Rover: [Pulling out her weapon] "We deal with it. Quickly."

The Howler turned its attention toward them, its glowing eyes narrowing as it let out an ear-splitting howl that reverberated through the village.

TIS: [Drawing his weapon] "Of course we do. But just so you know, I'm not a fan of things that roar before they attack!"

B Rover: [Smirking slightly] "Then stop complaining and focus."

The Battle Begins

The Howler lunged toward them, its massive claws swiping through the air. Rover darted to the side with practiced ease, her movements fluid as she evaded the attack. TIS, meanwhile, used his agility to position himself behind the creature.

TIS: "Distract it for me! I've got an idea!"

F Rover: "You better make it quick!"

With a series of precise strikes, Rover managed to draw the Howler's attention, keeping it occupied while TIS prepared his next move. The creature roared in frustration, its movements becoming erratic as it lashed out in all directions.

TIS: [Yelling as he dashed onto a empty road] "Free eye treatment !"

With a well-aimed shot from his sword, TIS struck one of the Howler's glowing eyes. The creature let out a deafening cry, staggering backward in pain.

F Rover: "Nice shot!"

TIS : "For the record I used a sword"

F Rover : "Shut up"

As the Howler faltered, Rover seized the opportunity to deliver a decisive blow. With a powerful strike, she aimed for the creature's exposed flank, her weapon glowing faintly as it connected.

They thought they had successfully defeated the Howler. Its massive form collapsed to the ground, dissolving into a dark mist. But just as they began to relax, the mist swirled back together, reforming rapidly into the Howler's full, imposing shape.

The Howler let out a guttural roar and charged toward them, its movements faster and more aggressive than before.

F Rover: [Shouting] "TIS, behind you!"

Good thing TIS had quick reflexes. He spun out of the way just in time, narrowly dodging the Howler's charge. As the creature passed, TIS slashed its neck with his weapon, forcing the Howler to shift its momentum, staggering to redirect itself.

Seeing the opportunity, Rover threw her sword with precision. The blade spun through the air, cutting deep into the Howler's shoulder. The creature howled in rage, lifting its bear-like claws high above its head to strike Rover.

But Rover was ready. With a swift move, she caught her sword midair as it returned to her and drove it straight into the Howler's stomach. The creature reeled, roaring in pain.

TIS: [Grinning slightly] " Dante style "

Without hesitation, TIS pulled out his gun, aiming steadily. He unleashed a rapid series of shots, each one hitting the Howler with pinpoint accuracy. The creature's movements became sluggish, its form flickering like a fading shadow.

With one final, ear-splitting roar, the Howler dissolved into an echo.

Aftermath

The villagers cautiously emerged from their hiding places, their faces a mixture of relief and gratitude.

TIS: [putting his unsheathed sword, and gun back to his socket] "Well, that was unexpected"

F Rover: [Inspecting her weapon, putting it back to it's socket] "Did that TD reverberated instantly ?"

TIS : "I'm not sure about that, but at least, we can get information more easily" TIS said as he pointing at the villagers.

A village elder approached them, his expression solemn yet thankful.

Elder: "You saved us from that monster."

A kid : "You looked so cool !!!" quickly approached Rover, with glimmering eyes.

Elder : " pardon me, but still how can we ever repay you ?"

Y Rover : " You're welcome, it is what we should do, however we do have some questions"

Elder : "ahh, what is it, I'll do my best to answer it"

Slowly other villagers surrounds TIS and Rover, as if they too wanted to hear.

Y Rover: "Do you happen to know what happened to Qichi Village?"

Suddenly, a heavy silence fell over the villagers. The adults exchanged uncertain glances, their expressions clouded with confusion. Meanwhile, the elder villagers—those with weathered faces and knowing eyes—shifted from kind to grave in an instant, their demeanor stiffening.

Elder: [Breaking the silence, his voice calm but firm] "Ah... it seems this is not the best place to discuss such matters. Let's move elsewhere. Come by my house."

Without waiting for a response, the elder turned and began walking, his movements deliberate and unhurried. The rest of the villagers gradually dispersed—some resuming their activities while others tended to their wounds. A few of the children, brimming with youthful energy, began playfully reenacting the battle against the Howler, their laughter echoing faintly through the village.

TIS glanced at Rover with a faint smirk, his eyes glinting with curiosity. Rover caught the look and gave a small nod of agreement.

TIS: "…."

Y Rover: [In a low tone] "Let's see where this leads."

TIS: [Pausing in place] "..."

Y Rover: [Shooting a glance at him] "Let's see where this leads."

Just as Rover was about to move her feet to follow the elder, she noticed TIS suddenly turning and walking in the opposite direction. Confused, she called out to him.

Y Rover: "TIS? Where are you going?"

TIS stopped, glancing over his shoulder with a playful yet uncharacteristically determined smile.

TIS: "Rover, now, I'll leave this to you…"

Y Rover: [Frowning] "What do you mean?"

TIS: [Turning to face her fully] "It's your choice—to follow me or follow that elder. I'm giving you the freedom to choose."

F Rover: [Stepping closer, her tone sharper] "Hold on, TIS. What are you talking about? Are you saying we shouldn't continue this quest?"

TIS: "No, quite the opposite. I'm trying to solve it."

Y Rover: [Blinking in confusion] "What... then?"

She stared at TIS, trying to piece together his sudden shift in demeanor.

TIS: [Crossing his arms, his voice softening] "I know this is sudden, but we need to act quickly. I'll explain everything—just not here. Only if you agree to trust me on this."

F Rover: [Hesitating, searching his face for answers] "...I… I think I believe you, TIS."

TIS: [Feigning surprise] "Wait, really?"

Y Rover: [Nodding with conviction] "Yes. I've never seen you this serious before, even when you're smiling. Whatever it is, it must be important."

TIS's smile widened, now laced with genuine gratitude.

TIS: "Very well, then. Follow me. That elder… he's the verse's way of keeping the hidden route hidden."

F Rover: [Eyes narrowing slightly] "The verse?"

TIS: [Chuckling softly as he began walking again] "Trust me, you'll understand soon enough."

Rover stood for a brief moment, watching him stride ahead with a confidence she rarely saw in him. Taking a deep breath, she followed, leaving behind the path toward the elder's house and stepping into the unknown.

Unknown as it is, TIS actually just walked back to Qichi Village, LOL

TIS : "LOL"

As it turned out, TIS had walked back to the Qichi Village. He stopped at a broken bench barely holding itself together, its splintered wood only sturdy enough for two people. With a knowing expression, he motioned for Rover to join him.

Rover followed, sitting beside him with a curious gaze. TIS took a deep breath, his eyes fixed on the vast sky above.

Rover: [Breaking the silence] "What is it?"

TIS: [Holding up a hand] "Wait a minute… The elder hasn't realized yet."

Rover tilted her head, puzzled, but said nothing. She could sense the tension in TIS's demeanor, so she waited.

Moments passed.

Suddenly, the sky above began to warp. Sections turned glitchy, fragments breaking down like shattered glass while other parts snapped back into place, forming a chaotic vortex in one specific spot.

Rover's eyes widened in disbelief, her jaw slack.

Y Rover: "What… is happening?"

From his hand, Abby materialized, hovering in mid-air with frantic energy.

Abby: [Pointing with his tiny finger] "WHAT IS THAT?!"

The chaotic spectacle reflected in Rover's wide eyes as she struggled to comprehend the surreal scene.

TIS, on the other hand, simply smiled. Rising from the bench with newfound determination, he took a deep breath and bellowed:

TIS: "HIDDEN ROUTE, I FOUND YOUUUUU!"

At his declaration, the glitching sky responded. A massive phrase in bold Times New Roman font materialized in the chaos, reading:

"Hidden Route Triggered"

The words hung in the air, radiating an otherworldly energy as the environment seemed to adjust itself around this revelation.

Rover stared, half in awe, half in disbelief.

Y Rover: [Murmuring] "...TIS, what is this ?"

TIS: [Grinning and dusting off his hands] "Exactly—find the hidden route. Now the real fun begins."

As suddenly as the chaos began, the glitched sky repaired itself. Fragments reassembled, and the once-broken sky now stretched seamlessly above them, as if nothing had happened. The world around them returned to its usual eerie stillness.

Rover, still seated on the battered bench, blinked, trying to process everything. Her grip on the edge of the seat tightened as she glanced at TIS, who now stood in front of her.

TIS's demeanor had shifted. His usual relaxed air was replaced by an aura of quiet authority, his expression one of determination and clarity.

With deliberate steps, he moved closer to Rover, the faint sound of his boots crunching against the debris beneath. Stopping just a few paces ahead, TIS turned to face her, his gaze steady.

TIS: [What the heck is that kind of expression] "Alright, Rover, let me reintroduce myself."

Rover tilted her head, her confusion only deepening.

TIS: [With a bright smile] "I am TIS, the leader of Next Stop. The Being That Exists Outside."

Rover's eyes widened. He stood, the words hanging heavy in the air between them.

Y Rover: [In a low voice] "The Being That Exists Outside…?"

TIS: [Nods] "You heard me. What we're dealing with here isn't just another quest or mystery. This is a path hidden from the Verse itself—a route not meant to be discovered by anyone within its design, AND IS NOT AN ALTERNATE STORY. That elder and this village… they're threads meant to keep the tapestry intact, to obscure what lies beyond."

Rover crossed her arms, her brows furrowing.

F Rover: "And you… you've been outside this 'tapestry' all along?"

TIS: [Chuckling softly] "You catch on quick. But yes, I exist not only outside the story, outside the Verse, but also outside everything while still being a normal human. That is for later though, as now, we're stepping into a realm where rules are rewritten, where outcomes aren't dictated by anyone, not us, not even the hidden route itself."

Rover let out a slow breath, his mind racing.

Y Rover: [With a smirk] "You're really full of surprises, TIS."

TIS: [Grinning] "You've only scratched the surface. Now, let's see where this hidden route takes us."

With that, he extended his hand toward her, his expression filled with anticipation for the journey ahead.

Rover hesitated for a moment before clasping his hand firmly, a small smile creeping onto his face.

Y Rover: "Alright, Let's do this."

Together, they turned toward the unknown, the air around them heavy with the promise of untold secrets and the thrill of a journey that defied the Verse itself.

TIS: [With a sly grin] "Oh yeah, before we go any further, let me give you a brief rundown of the Hidden Route. There's another condition called IDC—but I'll only explain it if and when it actually happens during the Hidden Route."

F Rover: [Raises an eyebrow] "IDC? What's that supposed to mean?"

TIS: [Quickly changing the subject] "Oh, and one more thing! The Hidden Route is very—and I mean very—different from the main route. You're not supposed to exist there. Basically, the entire world of the Hidden Route will want to erase you from existence."

F Rover: [Pauses, processing] "..."

Y TIS: [Serious now] "And it doesn't hold back. Not a single bit."

Rover: [Hesitant] "TIS... why are we even bothering to solve this Hidden Route? What's the point?"

TIS: [With a knowing smile] "Simple. The Hidden Route is something that was never supposed to happen—but it did. Unlike the main or canon route, the Verse itself will actively try to destroy it in countless ways."

Y Rover: [Frowning] "And what happens if it's destroyed?"

TIS: [Shrugs nonchalantly] "If the Hidden Route survives, it'll stabilize and rebuild itself. But if it doesn't... it'll trigger an IDC."

F Rover: [Confused] "IDC again? What does it mean, TIS? You keep throwing these cryptic terms around."

TIS: [Chuckles lightly] "Still confused, huh? Don't worry, I'll explain more as we go. For now, all you need to know is this: the Hidden Route doesn't play fair. It's going to throw everything it has at us."

F Rover: [Sighing] "Sounds like a nightmare..."

TIS: [Turning serious] "It is. That's why we need to prepare. Let's head back and get ready. If we're going to survive the Hidden Route, we'll need everything we've got."

Rover nodded reluctantly, feeling the weight of TIS's words. The road ahead was uncertain and fraught with danger, but there was no turning back now. Together, they began their journey back, the tension thick in the air, their resolve steeling for the battle to come.
