Xianxia: The Sect Master Is My Girlfriend

Chapter 111: Oh no, My Nose is Bleeding!

Leng Wuyan said anxiously, “You can’t open it right now!”

Li Ran found this strange.

She gave him a gift, but wouldn’t let him open it?

Her face was flushed, and she stammered, “Wa–wait until I leave to open it. Also, make sure you’re alone when you do, and absolutely no one else can see it.”

Without waiting for a response, she quickly turned and left in a hurry.

Li Ran scratched his head in confusion.

“Why is it so mysterious?”

He weighed the box in his hand—it felt so light, almost like there was nothing inside.

“Could it be that Master wrote me a love letter? No wonder she was so shy. Hehe.”

Li Ran took the box back to his study, carefully untied the red ribbon, and opened the lid.

Inside was a piece of pink fabric, soft and more delicate than silk.

“What is this…”

As he pulled the fabric out, he froze instantly.

It was a pink dudou!

It had several cutouts, barely any material, and it gave off a faint, familiar fragrance.

“……”

Li Ran gulped. “Why would Master give me something like this?!”

This was way too embarrassing!

At that moment, he noticed a note inside the box.

He picked it up and took a glance, and his eyes widened in shock.

“What the—!”

The note read:

[You rebellious disciple, I know what you like, but forgive me, I really can’t do that… I wore this dudou close to my skin for five days. Consider this the same as seeing me in it with your own eyes. Happy Frostfall Festival.]

[Also, please don’t do anything weird with it.]

“……”

Li Ran looked at the note, then at the dudou, his mind on the verge of crashing.

His master’s New Year’s gift… was her own worn dudou?!

No wonder she didn’t want him to open it!

Oh my…

Looking at the clumsy handwriting on the note, Li Ran could picture Leng Wuyan’s nervous expression as she wrote it.

“No wonder this scent is so familiar—it’s Master’s fragrance…”

Like a lovesick fool, Li Ran brought the dudou up to his nose for a sniff.

Images of his master shyly wearing it flashed in his mind.

Oh no, his nose started bleeding…

“Master really understands me!”

Li Ran wiped his nosebleed and made a vow to the heavens, “One day, I’ll make sure Master wears this for me in person!”

As he thought about his master’s cold and beautiful face, his heart raced with excitement.

“New Year’s is really great~”

“Right, the Frostfall Festival Spring Show tonight…”

After thinking for a moment, Li Ran made a decision.

As the sky darkened, the lanterns of Mystic Spirit Mountain began to light up.

The Hidden Gauze Sect was bustling with noise, packed with people.

Disciples sat cross-legged facing the stage, with all kinds of spiritual tea and fruits arranged beside them.

Leng Wuyan sat at the front, with the other elders from various peaks seated beside her.

Everyone was waiting for the Frostfall Festival Spring Show to begin.

The elders all wore smiles on their faces. For them, this was one of the rare joys in a life of monotonous cultivation.

Elder Sun said with a grin, “Sect Master, this year’s Spring Show is organized by Elder Yang of the Sixth Peak. I’ve heard the programs are quite good. I’m really looking forward to it.”

“I’m looking forward to it as well.” Leng Wuyan nodded.

But what she was really looking forward to wasn’t the performances—it was the date she had planned with Li Ran.

As the sect master, she had to attend such a grand event, but once the show was mostly over, she would sneak away quietly.

Dong!

Accompanied by the melodious sound of a bell, the venue quieted down.

Elder Yang of the Sixth Peak stood up, his voice booming, “I hereby announce the official start of the Frostfall Festival Spring Show!”

“Alright!”

Cheers and applause erupted from the audience.

Then, one by one, performances began taking the stage.

There was storytelling, opera singing, dragon and lion dancing, and other forms of entertainment, as well as some disciples displaying their cultivation skills and sparring with each other.

It was more or less like the variety shows you’d see in the common world.

Since the disciples weren’t professionals, there were occasional flaws, but the audience didn’t mind. Everyone was simply there to enjoy themselves, and the atmosphere grew lively.

“Next, we have Inner Disciple Lu Xinran performing ‘Breaking a Stone on the Chest!'”

Amid the cheers, Lu Xinran carried a large stone onto the stage.

Leng Wuyan, however, wasn’t paying any attention to the performances. Her eyes were constantly scanning the crowd, searching for any sign of Li Ran.

‘Strange, where did Ran’er go?’

She was puzzled. She hadn’t seen him all evening.

Normally, with his status, he would be seated in the front row beside her, watching the performances.

‘Maybe he’s busy preparing for our date?’ Leng Wuyan thought gleefully.

The show continued.

“Now, please enjoy a dance performance by the disciples of the Sixth Peak: ‘A Brick of the Sect, Moving Wherever Needed!'”

An hour passed.

Leng Wuyan sat in her chair, her face growing darker by the moment, as if it could wring out water.

‘The show is almost over. Where on earth has that rebellious disciple gone?’

‘Could it be he forgot about our date?’

‘No, that shouldn’t be it. I saw him earlier today…’

‘Wait!’

A sudden thought crossed her mind. ‘Could it be… he wasn’t satisfied with my gift? Just because… I didn’t wear it for him?’

The more she thought about it, the more she felt that must be the case.

‘But that’s far too embarrassing! There’s no way I could…’

‘Even so, he can’t just ignore me like this. That’s far too much.’

Leng Wuyan felt utterly wronged.

Giving him her intimate clothing had already pushed her to her limits. Did he really need her to serve him in bed to be satisfied?

She had already overcome her own embarrassment, yet he still wasn’t content.

‘This rebellious disciple, I’ll never speak to him again…’

Leng Wuyan stood up, ready to leave.

She couldn’t bear to watch the show any longer and was preparing to retreat to her chambers to be alone.

Just then, the announcer’s excited voice rang out:

“Next, please enjoy a performance by none other than the Holy Son himself, singing the song The Whale That Became an Island!”

Leng Wuyan froze in place, abruptly turning her head.

She saw Li Ran walking onto the stage, standing in the center, smiling directly at her.

Leng Wuyan’s cheeks flushed, and she slowly sat back down.

‘So, he was preparing for a performance… I misunderstood him. But, he can sing?’

“It’s the Holy Son!”

“Holy Son is performing!”

“Am I dreaming?”

“Holy Son singing? I can die happy now!”

The disciples’ cheers nearly lifted the roof off!

Li Ran’s popularity was through the roof.

Zheng~

The musicians behind him gently plucked the strings, and the room immediately fell silent.

The sound of the zither began, not with the expected melancholy, but instead full of warmth and hope.

For some reason, Leng Wuyan’s heartbeat began to quicken.
