Chapter 54 - I Moved the Principal and the Director
Chapter 54: I Moved the Principal and the Director
Just as Jiang Zhou was mentally calculating how much compensation he could squeeze out of this situation, a phone call yanked him out of his fantasy.
“Jiang Zhou, get your ass to the Office of Academic Affairs!
“Immediately!”
The call came from Yan Weimin. From the sound of it, he’d already seen what was happening on the forum.
This was within Jiang Zhou’s expectations. With the entire campus forum flaming him, there was no way the school would pretend not to see it.
And this was exactly what he wanted. Once the school stepped in, getting compensation would be much easier.
Feeling quite pleased, Jiang Zhou strutted his way to the Office of Academic Affairs. But the moment he walked in, he realized three people were waiting for him.
One of them had greying hair but looked sharp. Jiang Zhou recognized him from the university’s admission notice. It was none other than their school principal, Qin Baichuan.
The second man was a bit chubby, wearing gold-rimmed glasses. He looked unfamiliar.
“Jiang Zhou, this mess on the forum, is it true?!” Yan Weimin snapped.
Jiang Zhou replied with righteous indignation, “Sir, the photos are all real. How could it not be true?”
Yan Weimin was stunned. What kind of game is this?
He’d expected Jiang Zhou to deny everything, especially since he had always viewed him as a rising entrepreneurial star — someone with a promising project in hand.
Even the principal was aware and supportive of it.
If Jiang Zhou had just tried to explain or deny the accusations, maybe he could’ve helped protect him in front of the higher-ups.
But he wasn’t even trying to argue?
“Principal, this is the student I mentioned earlier, the promising entrepreneur. I didn’t expect him to cause such a scandal. This is my failure.” Yan Weimin lowered his head, filled with guilt.
Principal Qin frowned and looked at Jiang Zhou sternly. “Jiang Zhou, do you understand the seriousness of your actions?”
Jiang Zhou stood up straight, chest puffed out, and declared, “Sir, I’m a model student who strives for progress and excellence! I deserve to be commended by the entire school!”
“…”
Dead silence.
Both the principal and vice principal were dumbfounded.
Being a player is now considered model behavior?
Is this guy mentally okay?
Yan Weimin snapped, “Jiang Zhou, get serious!”
Jiang Zhou sighed and sat down. “Director, ever since you expressed interest in my startup project, I’ve been racking my brain, trying to live up to your expectations. That’s why I invited three girls out for dinner in one night.”
“What does that have to do with your business?”
“Because I’ve just finished developing an online food-ordering feature. I plan to officially launch it during the Welcome Party.”
“And how does that relate to the Welcome Party?”
At this point, both the principal and vice principal were visibly confused.
The Welcome Party, the business project, and dating girls? These things couldn’t be more unrelated.
Jiang Zhou cleared his throat, preparing to lead the conversation his way — a skill honed from his past life as a senior business department manager.
First, hit them with confusion. Then, once they’re caught off guard, steer the topic to your prepared narrative.
“Director Yan, I’ve always been grateful for your support. In order to make you and the school proud, I stayed up all night working on over ten development plans.
“After evaluating them, I chose the most effective one. I personally funded 50,000 yuan to sponsor the Welcome Party and proposed adding a program.
“I invited upperclassman Han Rou, and classmates Huang Qi and Su Nan to be guest performers in my segment.
“I even wrote a promotional jingle for it. Here, please take a look!”
He handed them his phone, displaying the lyrics to his Ganfanren jingle.
The three leaned in and skimmed the song.
Yep, definitely an ad jingle. It didn’t have any depth or meaning, but it was catchy.
Yan Weimin suddenly had a realization. “So… you were meeting with the girls to discuss the performance?”
Jiang Zhou nodded with a deep sigh. “I’m new here and only know those three. So I met them separately at a Western restaurant to talk it over. I didn’t expect someone to twist the story like that. I’ve been wronged!”
“You should’ve said so from the start!”
“I didn’t dare!”
“Why not?”
“People misunderstanding me is one thing… but what if it reflects poorly on the school?”
“What about the person replying to all the forum posts under your name?”
“I have no idea, sir. I’ve never even registered on that forum!”
The three men exchanged glances.
Could this really be a setup?
He had the ad jingle, and the Welcome Party sponsorship was verified. That’s all tangible evidence.
Compared to that, a few out-of-context photos don’t prove anything.
It really seemed like someone had it out for Jiang Zhou.
Principal Qin sighed. “Jiang Zhou, I didn’t expect you to be so considerate of the school. Don’t worry, I won’t let you suffer injustice.”
Jiang Zhou grabbed the principal’s hand emotionally. “I don’t mind the injustice. As long as my project brings honor to the school, I can endure anything!”
“A student like Jiang Zhou is truly rare! Remarkable!”
“He’s a good student,” the vice principal added. “I’ll go post a clarification on the forum right now!”
Jiang Zhou quickly stopped him. “Vice Principal, I know you care for your students, but that’s not the best move right now.”
“What do you mean?”
“If this were just about me, it wouldn’t matter. But I’m afraid someone is targeting our project.”
That word — our — was no accident. It’s a subtle but powerful way to draw people to your side.
“Targeting our project?”
Jiang Zhou nodded, putting on a serious expression. “I’m afraid someone figured out my business strategy and wants to use this incident to sabotage it.”
Yan Weimin waved him off. “No way, it’s just a small project. Who would bother?”
“Director, you might not know, but when I visited the food street to pitch cooperation, someone approached me with an offer to invest.”
“You got an investment offer?!”
Jiang Zhou nodded solemnly. “He offered me two million to buy the website. I turned him down.”
The three were stunned.
This project… had that much potential?
Before it even launched, it was already drawing attention?
Yan Weimin nodded. “That’s entirely possible. Even I, with no business background, can see that Ganfanren has serious potential.”
Principal Qin considered for a moment. “So what do you want to do?”
“I want to find out who’s behind this, at least for peace of mind.”
The three men nodded to one another.
“Alright. In that case, go for it.”
