The mechanical knight once again turned its blade on its ally, dismantling it into a pile of scrap metal.
And from that scrap metal, a monster was reborn.
[Cyber Dragon Core] appeared once more!

"This effect can only be activated when this card is sent to the Graveyard."
"Send 1 'Cyberdark' monster with a different name from your Deck to the Graveyard, provided there is no card with the same name in your Graveyard."
"Only [Cyberdark Chimera] is in my Graveyard right now."
"So I choose to send [Cyberdark Wurm] from my Deck to the Graveyard!"
Kai pulled a card from his Deck and sent it to the Graveyard.
Then, a new glow lit up Kai's Graveyard!
"I activate the effect of [Cyberdark Wurm] in the Graveyard!"
"If this card is in the hand or Graveyard, and you have a Machine 'Cyber' monster other than this card on your field or in your Graveyard, you can send 1 'Cyber Dragon' monster from your hand or Deck to the Graveyard to Special Summon this card."
"Then, you can add 1 'Cyber' Spell/Trap or 'Cybernetic' Spell/Trap from your Graveyard to your hand."
"I send [Cyber Dragon Herz] from my Deck to the Graveyard!"
"Special Summon [Cyberdark Wurm]!"
A forest-green humanoid steel dragon burst from the Graveyard, gleaming with a menacing chill!

"Then I add [Cyberdark Realm] to my hand!"
"Also, at the moment [Cyber Dragon Herz] was sent to the Graveyard, its effect activates!"
"When this card is sent to the Graveyard, add 1 'Cyber Dragon' other than this card from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand."
"I add [Cyber Dragon] to my hand!"
From both his Deck and Graveyard, a card was ejected and added to Kai's hand.
Gavin looked at the monsters on Kai's field, then glanced at his own hand.
He vaguely sensed a threat—but truthfully, Kai didn't have any high-powered monsters on the field.
They were all low-ATK monsters. Gavin figured he could deal with them easily.
Above, Marina and Noir stared intently at Kai's plays.
Marina knew that the Cyber Dragon archetype had two main styles.
The "front" Cyber Dragons focused on second-turn OTKs, while the "back" Cyberdarks were combo-based, ending with an ultimate monster immune to opponent effects.
She had previously seen Kai use the front-style Cyber Dragon in a Trial.
It was a pure, aggressive build.
She had assumed that was the extent of his Deck, but to her surprise, Kai was now using both styles simultaneously.
Just what kind of person was he?
Everyone's eyes turned to the Dueling Arena below.
Even the murmuring conversations had faded. Everyone wanted to see what Kai would summon next.
After all, while Duels were common, Duelists who could wield spirit power were anything but.
In the Arena, Kai slid a card into his Duel Disk, and a radiant arc of light burst forth—Silver light flashed around Kai once again!
"I activate the effect of the Spell Card [Power Bond] from my hand!"
"Fusion Summon 1 Machine Fusion Monster using monsters from my hand or field as Fusion Material."
Gavin tensed instantly—was this it?
The Cyber Dragon Fusion Monster!
"At this moment, I use the effect of [Cyberdark Chimera]!"
"I fuse [Cyber Dragon] from my hand and [Cyber Dragon Herz] from my Graveyard as materials!"
The two monsters' bodies were sucked into a swirling vortex, with the sound of grinding gears echoing from within.
"Wreckage of machines, abandon your false radiance, and reforge your fangs in darkness!"
"Fusion Summon! [Chimeratech Rampage Dragon]!"
The vortex exploded open as a twin-headed mechanical dragon clad in dark armor roared onto the field.
A silver-white dragon head extended from its armor, and thanks to [Power Bond], its body swelled—doubling in size!

"4200 Attack Points!"
Gavin exclaimed, but Kai wasn't done yet.
"This is only the beginning!"
Kai reached toward his Duel Disk, placing the two monsters together.
"I Overlay [Chimeratech Rampage Dragon] and [Cyberdark Wurm]!"
A golden vortex formed in the Arena, and the two monsters turned into streaks of light, diving in.
"An Xyz Summon?!"
Gavin stared at the vortex in disbelief.
In his mind, Cyber Dragons were a Fusion-focused Deck.
However, Kai could do Link Summons—and now even Xyz Summons?!
Where did this monster of a Duelist come from, mastering three of the six summoning methods?
"Mechanical brilliance will shatter the stagnant darkness!"
"In the name of the Cyber stream—Xyz Summon!"
"Rank 5! [Cyber Dragon Nova]!"
A silver-white mechanical dragon descended with a roar, its armored frame laced with black and red. Starlight, symbolizing its Xyz materials, floated around it.

Although it only had 2100 Attack, the pressure it radiated made it feel many times stronger than [Cyber Dragon] itself.
"I activate [Cyber Dragon Nova]'s effect!"
"Once per turn: I can detach 1 Xyz Material, then target 1 'Cyber Dragon' in my Graveyard; Special Summon it."
"I detach [Cyber Dragon] to Special Summon it!"
One of the starlights around [Cyber Dragon Nova] faded, and a white mechanical dragon materialized with a flash.

Kai then drew a card from his Extra Deck and held it high.
"Next, I Overlay [Cyber Dragon Nova] as a single material!"
The mechanical dragon disintegrated into silver particles, constructing a glowing infinity symbol within a crimson vortex.
"Break the shackles of definition and reforge the end of evolution!"
"Xyz Summon! Rank 6!
[Cyber Dragon Infinity]!"
As Kai slammed the card down, the silver light around him blazed at its peak, and the machines nearby emitted a high-pitched whine from overload.
From the vortex descended a dark crimson mechanical dragon wrapped in quantum currents!
Its frame was clad in dark armor, a crimson core embedded in its chest. Even the space around it quivered slightly.
