Yu-Gi-Oh: I have a Card Printing Skill!

Chapter 19: The Expulsion Duel

The next day, Yumi and Jaden met up bright and early.

"Yo, Yumi! Are you ready for this?" The jellyfish-haired duelist asked with a wide grin, standing confidently beside his friend.

Yumi smirked, resting a hand on the deck box strapped to his chest.

"Of course I am. I built this deck specifically for today."

Compared to Jaden, who traveled light with just one or two deck boxes clipped to his belt, carrying his main deck and a few extras.

Yumi wore two belt rigs strapped with three deck boxes, and a fourth one snug against his chest, partially hidden under his jacket.

"Dude..." Jaden chuckled, eyeing the haul. "I'm so excited I couldn't sleep last night."

Translation: I sleep very well and am still very excited.

"Are you excited too?" Of course, only Jaden would be excited for his expulsion duel.

"That depends, whether our opponents are strong or not," Yumi replied with a grin.

"Awesome! You took the words right out of my mouth." Jaden held up a fist. "Let's do this. I'm counting on you, AIBO!"

Yumi was a bit surprised being called that. The first generation Duel King, Yugi Muto, was also called AIBO (partner) by the other spirit living within him, the Nameless Pharaoh.

This makes Yumi wonder if Jaden kept running around calling him AIBO. Later on, if Yubel, the strongest Yandere in Yu-Gi-Oh history, sees this, would she get so jealous that she permanently takes over his body?

Still, that is a question for the future. Right now, there is something more important.

The two Slifer Reds bumped fists, energy high, their resolve solid.

At the far end of the hall, Professor Crowler's voice boomed across the Duel Arena.

"And here come our challengers!" he announced dramatically, his tone dripping with theatrical flair. "They are the students that broke the rules, and by that I meant breaking into the abandoned dorm!"

A wave of gasps and murmurs rippled through the crowd of students.

"They are the Slifer Red... Jaden Yuki and Yumi Uzushi!"

Jaden strolled into the arena with his usual carefree smile, waving enthusiastically at the crowd like a celebrity greeting his fans.

Beside him, Yumi entered with calm confidence, hands tucked casually in his pockets, a smile on his face.

The two walked side by side, different energies, same determination.

Celina hated this.

She knew Yumi was confident in himself, and Jaden, despite his carefree attitude, wasn't a bad duelist either. But the thought of the two of them shouldering the entire blame left a bitter knot in her stomach.

What made it worse was the atmosphere. The way Crowler paraded their "crimes." The way the students jeered, clearly hoping they'd fail. Her hands gripped the edge of her seat so tightly she nearly snapped the armrests. Just as she was about to stand in protest, a calm voice interrupted her tension.

"Do you mind if I sit here, Celina?"

She turned to see Bastion, the sharp-minded Ra Yellow student. He was one of the few who didn't seem to revel in the spectacle. She nodded silently, motioning to the seat beside her.

"Thank you," he said politely, sitting down.

No sooner had he settled in than another voice called out.

"Room for one more?"

Both of them turned to find Alexis approaching, her usual poise dulled by a clear expression of worry.

"I want to watch the duel with you guys," she said softly. "Jasmine and Mindy have been unbearable lately, and... I just need to be here."

Celina and Bastion exchanged a glance and nodded together.

"Thanks." Alexis gave a small smile and sat beside them.

A moment passed in silence before Bastion asked, "Are you both worried for them?"

Alexis sighed. "Of course I am. I'm the reason they're in this mess to begin with."

Celina shook her head. "If anyone's to blame, it's me. I'm the one who dragged Yumi to that place. And I heard that Crowler, of all people, is organizing this event, so you know that this will be tough for both of them."

Alexis was about to retort, but Bastion raised a hand gently, cutting them both off.

"I get it. You're both frustrated. But this is beyond us now. Whether we like it or not..." He looked down at the arena. "...fate is in their hands."

The girls fell silent. None of them liked that truth, but they knew it was the only one that mattered now.

Up in the stands, Zane leaned against the railing, his piercing eyes fixed on the two Slifer Reds walking toward the Duel Arena.

Nearby, Momoyo stood with her arms crossed, she smirk having full confidence in her little brother.

Not far from her, a sharp-eyed female teacher in a Slifer Red coat watched silently, her eyes betraying a hint of tension.

Even Chumley was there for the duel, and that was a shock to most people. Chumley didn't want to see his friends expelled.

As Jaden and Yumi arrived on stage, the two stood side by side. Calm, confident, and ready.

But if the solemn tension around them made any difference, Crowler didn't seem to notice, or care.

His voice rang out dramatically from the announcer's booth, still clinging to his flair for the theatrical.

"And on the other side! The challengers! The iconic tag-team duelists known across campuses far and wide! The dazzling duo of combo synergy! The twins with talent, flair, and just a bit too much spunk, as they like to say, and they have glory and too much grace when they duel, they are... the Tyler Sisters!"

A collective sweatdrop rolled through the crowd.

Clearly, Crowler had just read what the sisters wrote themselves for the introduction.

Still, when the audience realized who the opponents were, excitement rippled through the crowd. Students leapt from their seats as the Tyler Sisters stepped forward into the light.

The younger sister, Grace Tyler, had snow-white hair cascading to her shoulders and bright green eyes full of enthusiasm. She wore a stylish white jacket and fitted white jeans, a modified Obelisk Blue half-skirt tied loosely at her hips. With a big, sparkling grin, she waved cheerfully to the roaring students.

The older sister, Gloria Tyler, was her opposite in demeanor. Pale blonde hair, deep red eyes, and a stoic expression that matched her sleek, militarized dueling suit. She lifted a hand in a subtle wave but made it clear: she was here to duel, not to charm.

Yumi was surprised, remembering that in the original work, his opponents were supposed to be the Paradox brothers. The 'legendary' duelists who duel the Duel King Yugi Muto.

Their situation is similar to the man who fought the First Hokage next door. They lost and became legendary because of it.

"Interesting." He murmurs, a smirk forming on his lips, he already knew by now that this world is different from the original story in some aspect. He wasn't taken aback upon seeing these two sisters appear here.

He just doesn't pay much attention to other duelists. His focus had always been on making sure his cards still worked under this world's mechanics, especially without Synchro, Xyz, or Pendulum Summons.

Jaden, meanwhile, lit up with childlike excitement.

"Whoa! The Tyler Sisters! I've read all about you two! Your tag-team plays are, like, insane, like you're reading each other's minds! I've always wanted to duel you!"

Gloria scoffed, crossing her arms. "Hear that, Grace? He wanted to duel us. Should we give him what he wants?"

Grace grinned. "I heard, Gloria! Time to show them why we're called the best tag team on campus!"

With synchronized movements, the sisters drew their decks and slid them into their duel disks.

Jaden responded in kind, pulling out his deck with a fiery grin. Yumi simply raised his arm, his deck already loaded, his duel disk ready.

Crowler looked at both teams, eyes gleaming with theatrical tension. "Are the tag teams ready?"

All four duelists nodded.

"Then... let the duel begin!" Crowler shouted, quickly ducking off the stage to get a closer view.

"DUEL!" x4

[Jaden & Yumi, LP 8000]

[Gloria & Grace, LP 8000]

All four duelists drew five cards from their decks, the tension thick in the air.

"Ladies first!" Grace chimed with a wink, confidently drawing her sixth card to start the duel.

She wasted no time.

"I summon, Amazoness Swords Woman!"

With a fierce battle cry, a muscular warrior woman flipped onto the field, landing with an impressive flourish behind Grace. She wore a fur-trimmed bra and skirt, her dark red hair tied back in a warrior's knot. Her skin gleamed under the lights, and she held a sword nearly twice her height, large enough to make Syrus faint just from the size of it.

[Amazoness Swords Woman, 1500 ATK]

"Next, I'll set two cards face-down and end my turn!" she declared, slipping two cards onto her Duel Disk. Twin holograms flickered into place behind her monster, pulsing ominously.

With her setup complete, Grace folded her arms and gave Jaden and Yumi a playful smirk.

"Your move, boys."

Jaden turned to his partner with a grin. "Hey, AIBO, mind if I take our first turn?"

Yumi simply smiled and gave him a nod of approval.

"Alright! My move!" Jaden declared with enthusiasm as he drew his sixth card. A quick glance at his hand made his grin widen.

"I'll start strong- I summon Elemental HERO Bubbleman!"

A stream of bubbles erupted across the field as the water-clad hero made his dramatic entrance, kneeling with arms folded in signature style.

[Elemental HERO Bubbleman, 1200 DEF]

"Since he's the only card on my field, I get to draw two more cards!" he added, immediately drawing two.

"Next, I play the Spell Card, Hero Mask! I target Bubbleman and send Sparkman from my deck to the graveyard. Until the end of the turn, Bubbleman is treated as Sparkman!"

He slipped the card into his graveyard before slamming down another card.

"Now, Polymerization! I fuse 'Sparkman' aka Bubbleman, with Necroshade from my hand!"

A swirling vortex of light opened as the two heroes leapt into it. From within, a black-armored warrior emerged, with gold trim running across his chest and shoulders, two large spike-like wings came out from his back.

"Fusion Summon- Elemental HERO Darkbright!"

[Elemental HERO Darkbright, 2000 ATK]

Grace gave an impressed whistle. "That's pretty good, huh, sis?"

Gloria nodded slightly. "Not bad... But let's be real, he's just another chew toy for our monster."

Jaden's eye twitched. "Oh yeah? We'll see about that!" He pointed at Grace's field. "Darkbright, attack Amazoness Swords Woman, Dark Flash!"

Darkbright charged up a crackling orb of black lightning, launching himself toward the Amazoness, but before impact-

"What a bother!" Grace called out, flipping her set card. "Trap activate, Zero Gazer! When you attack my monster, my monster loses all of their attack points! Sorry, gal!"

The Swords Woman dropped to one knee, her sword dragging as her strength was drained.

[Amazoness Swords Woman, 1500 -> 0 ATK]

Darkbright struck her down in one clean blow, but as she shattered, her sword went spinning into the air, glinting dangerously.

"Nice one, Jay!" Syrus cheered. "You destroyed her monster and dealt damage!"

Jaden blinked. "Wait... then why haven't their Life Points dropped?" He turned to the sisters in confusion. "Don't tell me it's... her effect?"

Gloria smirked, "Well, you are half right, maybe you might have a brain after all. Sword Woman's effect is that it deals you damage equal to the points we would have gotten."

The crowd gasped. The spinning sword began descending, aimed directly at Jaden.

Yumi suddenly spoke up, flicking a card into his graveyard. "I discard Clear Kuriboh! Its effect activates, any effect damage I would've taken becomes 0!"

A flash of purple energy intercepted the falling blade. Clear Kuriboh materialized briefly, jumping up, taking one for the team before disappearing.

Normally, in tag-duel action like this might be considered invalid, mostly because the setup only gives the tag-team players one set of hands to work with per turn. But here, since they have two sets of hands, meaning during each other's turn, Yumi could freely use his Hand Trap.

Plus, his Clear Kuriboh's effect was altered from discard to negate the activation of a monster that would inflict effect damage to the player, to make the damage they would have taken become zero.

Although not a big change, the new effect could still be used the same way the old effect would. This makes effect damage take to zero, not only similar to the og Kuriboh, but it also opened up more combos.

"Thanks, AIBO." Jaden said with a smile, glad to have Yumi covering his back.

"Tch, just a weak Kuriboh. Nothing more than a setback." Gloria scoffed, rolling her eyes.

"Don't get too worked up about it, sis." Grace quickly whispered to her older sister.

Yumi raised an eyebrow.

She doesn't know…

Mocking a Kuriboh was a well-known curse among duelists in the real world. Anyone foolish enough to do so often found themselves on the losing end.

Such a good sister, setting up her and her sister's death flag.

Grace smiled playfully, trying to cool things off. "Anyway! Zero Gazer's other effect is that after my monster is destroyed, I can draw a card, but then I chain Pride of the Tribe! When my monster is destroyed, I can summon one of her gal pals from my deck!"

She took out her deck and searched for a specific monster. She took it and summoned it, "Come on out, Amazoness Fighter!"

A totem pole with a blaring siren rose up from the arena floor. Moments later, a deep-skinned, muscular warrior woman with long dark hair dashed in, slamming the alarm off with her fist.

[Amazoness Fighter, 1500 ATK]

Gloria then took a card out of her hand as her younger sister drew her card. Confirming Yumi's suspicion of this world's tag-duel rules. He not only could use hand traps during his teammate's turn, but he could also benefit from his partner's card effect.

"What does an amazoness need, other than their pet? When an Amazoness monster is summoned onto the field, I can special summon Amazoness Baby Tiger!"

From the shoulders of Amazoness Fighter came out a sleepy small kitten, it let out a yawn and Fighter petted the little feline, making everyone, even Zane, let out an 'aww'.

The Amazoness put the little cat on the Duel Arena as it tried, and failed horribly to scare anyone.

[Amazoness Pet Tiger, 500 ATK]

"Okay, that was adorable, right AIBO?" Jaden looked at Yumi, who was frowning, realizing that the Tiger in the Amazoness archetype was quite troublesome.

Hearing a commotion nearby, Yumi turned, seeing Alexis and Bastion trying to restrain Celina from running up here and snatching the cat. He shook his head as he turned back to the duel.

"I'll finish my turn with two face-down cards," Jaden said, sliding two cards into his Duel Disk. Twin holograms appeared behind Darkbright, who stood guard with arms folded.
