Chapter 60: Reunion!
Following the battle with Minus One, the scene transitions to the next morning at Kono's residence. In the living room, Zodiac is demonstrating sword techniques, Ohma is engaged in exercise, Gram and Himitsu are conversing, and Daru is on the floor performing push-ups.
Daru: 455, 456, 457.
Ohma: (Looking at Daru) Wow, you're amazing, Sir Daru!
Daru: (Continuing his push-ups) I told you to stop calling me that!
Himitsu: I still can't believe what happened yesterday with that creature on the loose.
Gram: (Exhausted) We need a break from all this fighting.
Himitsu: I totally agree. I need a break and a good long sleep.
As they converse, Kono enters the living room.
Kono: Hello, everyone. I'm back!
Ohma: Hey, Kono!
Daru completes his push-ups and stands up.
Daru: Finally. Now we can resume our missions; I was starting to feel bored.
Kono: Well, about that…
Daru: Ughhhh! What's the issue now!?
Himitsu: Did something happen?
Kono: I'm not sure if you've checked, but I received a notification on my Jump Watch indicating that the Order Association has closed the mission board.
Zodiac: So, we can't undertake any missions?
Kono: Unfortunately, that is correct. We are unable to proceed due to the damages in the first and second districts.
Himitsu: What!?
Daru: You've got to be kidding me…
Ohma: Well, that sucks! I was so excited to go on my first mission with you guys.
Upon hearing this, Gram begins to jump with excitement.
Gram: YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! NO MORE MISSIONS! THAT MEANS I GET TO RELAX!
Himitsu: Exactly, I can take a nice long nap!
Zodiac: You're only acting like this because you're lazy…
Disregarding Zodiac, Gram starts to dance, which only frustrates Daru further.
Daru: I hate when he acts like this.
Kono: But…
Gram: (Stops dancing) WHY IS THERE ALWAYS A BUT?!
Kono: Since we won't be able to do any missions for now, I thought it would be a great idea to help clean up the district. That's the least we can do.
Gram: Oh, come on!
Ohma: That sounds like a great idea!
Zodiac: No, it doesn't. Why should it be our responsibility to clean up this mess, especially since it's the doctor's fault?
Daru: We didn't sign up to be janitors, Kono…
Kono: I understand, but I believe it's our duty to support the citizens with the cleanup. We are the Order of Triumph, after all.
Everyone else wore blank expressions, except for Ohma, who was smiling.
Zodiac: And once again, my day is ruined...
After their discussion, they prepared to head outside, where they encountered construction workers and citizens cleaning up Hemdel, which was marred by broken buildings and damaged roads.
Himitsu: Dang. Minus One really caused a lot of damage.
Daru: Yeah, no kidding...
Gram: (whining) Do we really have to clean up?
Ohma: Why are you upset, Gram? Don't you want to help the people?
Gram: W-well, yeah, but not like—
Middle-Aged Man: Hey, you! Can you help me out?
They all turned to the man, who had several wooden planks scattered on the ground.
Kono: Hey there! What do you need help with?
Middle-Aged Man: I need to transport these planks to my workshop, but my car has run out of energy. Could you lend me a hand?
As he spoke, Daru approached the planks, bent down, and lifted ten with one arm, resting them on his shoulder.
Daru: Let's get this over with.
The man was astonished by Daru's strength.
Zodiac: This guy loves to show off, I swear.
Middle-Aged Man: Wow! You're really strong!
Daru: Yeah, I get that a lot.
Ohma noticed four additional planks on the ground and walked over to pick them up with both arms.
Ohma: I can lift the rest for you, sir!
Middle-Aged Man: Oh, thank you! The workshop shouldn't be too far; just follow me.
Daru and Ohma began following the man, carrying the planks.
Ohma: We'll see you guys later!
Himitsu: See you, Ohma!
Kono: When you finish helping, let's meet at the central point of Hemdel. I'll send you the coordinates when I'm done.
Ohma: Okay!
Ohma waved goodbye as he and Daru set off.
Kono: Alright! Now it's our turn to find people to help, don't you think—
As Kono spoke, Zodiac began to walk off by himself.
Kono: Zodiac!?
Gram: Where are you going?
Zodiac: Don't worry about me. Focus on helping the others…
Gram: What?
Himitsu: Uhhhhh, I should probably go with him to make sure he doesn't do anything reckless.
Kono: Yeah, that sounds like a good idea, Himitsu.
Himitsu nodded and ran toward Zodiac.
Kono: Well, I guess it's just you and me, Gram.
Gram sighed.
Gram: I just wanted to relax…
After the group disperses, the scene transitions to Daru and Ohma lifting wooden planks for the middle-aged man walking behind them.
Middle-Aged Man: Thank you once again for carrying these items for me. I would hire someone, but it seems everyone is occupied with their own repairs.
Ohma: You're welcome, sir! It is a knight's duty to assist those in need.
Middle-Aged Man: (Laughing) You are very kind. Thank you once more. I can hardly believe that creature appeared out of nowhere and caused such chaos.
Ohma: Yes, I still wish we could have saved everyone who was lost…
Daru: Ohma, we've talked about this already.
Ohma: I know, Sir Daru. I'm sorry. I just can't help it.
Middle-Aged Man: There is no need to feel guilty, young man. I am certain you did everything within your power. I feel sorrow for all the families and innocent lives lost. It was a terrifying event for all of us. However, you defeated that creature, and for that, we are all grateful.
Ohma: You're welcome, sir. I will do my utmost to ensure no more lives are lost!
As the man laughs, Daru poses a question to Ohma.
Daru: Hey, Ohma.
Ohma: Yes, Daru?
Daru: I forgot to ask about what happened yesterday. When we were battling Lith's crew, why did you allow Mako to win?
Ohma: Well, I overheard Lith mention that if he lost, she would kick him out of her crew. When he started to cry, I felt bad for him, so I faked an injury to let him win.
Daru: Hmmm, so that's why you did it.
Ohma: Yeah. Would you have done the same?
Daru: Honestly, if I knew someone was about to get kicked out of a crew and started to cry, I'd probably do the same.
Ohma: Right!? I would feel bad not letting them win.
As Ohma and Daru continue walking, they arrive at the man's workshop and set down the planks.
Middle-Aged Man: Here we are! Thank you, gentlemen, for your assistance.
Daru: You're welcome.
Ohma: Anytime we can help a citizen!
After they complete their task, Zodiac walks past people with Himitsu.
Himitsu: Zodiac, why aren't we helping anyone? We've been walking for the past five to ten minutes.
Zodiac: Does it look like I want to help people?
Himitsu: But Kono said that—
Zodiac: I don't care what Kono said. She may be the leader, but that doesn't mean I'm going to listen to everything she says.
Himitsu: (Talking to himself) Why does he have to behave this way?
As they continued walking, a girl stood next to a building with a large bucket of paint precariously balanced on the edge of the roof. Just as it was about to fall, Himitsu noticed it.
Himitsu: Oh no! Hey, watch out!
As the bucket was about to fall on the girl, Zodiac used his sudoshi technique to kick it away, sending it crashing to the ground. The girl, startled, realized how close she had come to being hit.
Girl: Oh my! I didn't expect that! Thank you so much, sir—
Zodiac immediately walked away, his hands in his pockets.
Girl: Uhhhhhhh.
Himitsu: Don't worry about him. I'm sure he's glad he saved you.
Himitsu rushed to catch up with Zodiac.
Himitsu: Look, Zodiac! You helped someone!
Zodiac: I only did what was necessary, so just be quiet.
Himitsu: (Smiling) Alright then, but I'm just saying.
The scene shifted back to Gram and Kono, who were lifting a broken door onto the back of a pickup truck.
Gram: AHH!! A LITTLE HIGHER, KONO!!
Kono: Gram?
Gram: KEEP PUSHING!! ALMOST THERE!! AHHHH!!
Kono: Gram!?
Gram: ARE YOU EVEN PUSHING? AHHH!!!
Kono: GRAM!
Gram: WHAT!
Kono: It's already on the truck.
Gram: (Shocked) Ohh…
Old Man: Thank you so much, guys! I appreciate all your help.
Kono: Of course! The Order of Triumph is always here to help!
Gram: (Exhausted) Yeah… no worries anytime.
The old man drove off as it was getting late.
Kono: Well, I think we've accomplished enough for today! We'll do more tomorrow.
Gram: What! Again!?!
Kono: Yes! Since we can't take on any missions, we might as well stay busy and help around the city!
Gram: (Crying) I hate this!
Kono: Alright, let me send out the information to everyone so they know where to meet.
Kono sends the information to her squad, and they all receive it on their jump watches.
Daru: (Lifting a metal door) What was that?
Ohma: I believe it came from our watches.
Daru sets the metal door down on a platform and checks his watch.
Daru: It's Kono; she sent the meeting location.
Ohma: Ohh!!
Middle-aged Man: Hey, guys! I overheard you; you can go. I can manage from here.
Daru: Are you sure?
Middle-aged Man: I'm not that old (laughs); I can manage. However, if you would like, you can return tomorrow to help again.
Ohma: Absolutely! We'll be here!
Daru: Uh... I suppose I'll see you tomorrow.
Middle-aged Man: Alright, see you tomorrow.
Ohma and Daru begin making their way to the central point.
Ohma: Hey, sorry, Daru, if I spoke for you.
Daru: It's fine, Ohma, but please stop calling me "sir."
Ohma: Yes, si—I mean Daru.
Daru: (sighs).
The scene shifts back to Zodiac and Himitsu, where Himitsu is pacing.
Zodiac: (annoyed) Would you stop pacing?
Himitsu: No, I can't! We haven't helped anyone today; we've just been sitting here.
Zodiac: Hey, didn't you mention that I helped someone?
Himitsu: You kicked a bucket of paint.
Zodiac: At least I helped.
Himitsu: Ahh, you're so annoying sometimes.
As Himitsu speaks, their watches alert them, and they check the time.
Himitsu: Oh! It's Kono; it's time to meet them.
Zodiac rises.
Zodiac: Finally.
As they walk, the girl Zodiac assisted calls out.
Girl: Excuse me!
Zodiac and Himitsu turn to see her.
Himitsu: Wait! Is that the girl you helped?
Zodiac: I don't know, and I don't care.
Zodiac starts to walk away when Himitsu grabs his arm.
Zodiac: Hey! Let go of me!
Himitsu: No, we need to speak with her.
Zodiac: This is so annoying.
The girl approaches them.
Girl: Hi!
Himitsu: Hello! Did you need something?
Girl: Umm… well.
Zodiac: Would you hurry up? We've got somewhere to be.
Himitsu: Zodiac!
Girl: No, he's right! You are from The Order of Triumph. You're always busy.
Himitsu: What did you need?
Girl: I wanted to ask if you could help us paint a building tomorrow, as we need more hands.
Zodiac: N—
Himitsu: YES!
Zodiac: Uhhh.
Himitsu: Yes, we can help. We'll be there!
Girl: Oh my gosh, really?
Himitsu: Yes, we'll be there.
Girl: My grandpa will be so happy! Thank you again! See you tomorrow.
The girl runs off as Himitsu turns, and Zodiac wears a serious expression.
Zodiac: You're so annoying sometimes.
Himitsu: Yep! I know.
Himitsu starts walking to join Kono and the others as they meet up.
Kono: There they are!
Ohma and Daru arrive at the central point and see Kono and Gram.
Ohma: Hey, Gram! Hey, Kono!
Kono: Hello!
Gram: Hey!
Ohma: How was your experience helping out?
Gram: Exhausting!
Kono: He's just being a baby.
Gram: I am not!
Zodiac and Himitsu approach them.
Himitsu: Hello, everyone!
Kono: Hi, Himitsu!
Daru notices that Zodiac appears upset.
Daru: What's wrong with grumpy pants over there?
Himitsu: Oh! We're helping someone out tomorrow.
Daru: (Chuckles) Zodiac helping someone out? Now that's something I want to see.
Zodiac: What did you say?
Daru: Are you deaf?
Zodiac: Yes, I'm deaf to stupidity.
Daru: Oh, grow up! You only care about yourself.
Zodiac: Yes, because it keeps me safe.
Daru: Well, try to care about others because they care about you too, asshole.
Zodiac: All I hear is nonsense from you.
Daru: You want me to punch you?
Zodiac: You couldn't land a hit even if you tried.
Gram: Uhh… here we go again.
Himitsu: It never ends.
Ohma: I wonder who would win, Zodiac or Daru.
Kono: They already tried that, and it was a tie.
Ohma: Wow…
As Zodiac and Daru continued their argument, six days passed, and morning arrived, prompting everyone to prepare to assist the citizens.
Kono: Are you all ready to help more people?
Ohma: (Excited) Yeahhhh!
Zodiac: No, this is pointless.
Daru: Still complaining, I see.
Zodiac: (Looks at Daru) Just shut it.
Himitsu: Well, let's get started!
As everyone prepared and walked out the door, they spotted a man dressed in black, with his hood down, eating ice cream in front of Kono's house.
Daru: What the hell?
Gram: Who the heck are you?
???: (Eating ice cream) Took you long enough. You were taking forever.
Kono: Uhhhh, do we know you?
As she spoke, Zodiac drew his katana and rushed toward the man with a slash, causing him to teleport right behind Zodiac.
???: Whoa, man. You could hurt someone with that.
Himitsu: This guy is fast!
Zodiac quickly turned around, aiming another slash at his head, but the man teleported again, now sitting on a rock behind him.
???: Didn't your parents tell you not to play with sharp objects?
Zodiac: What the hell!?
Ohma: Zodiac can't even land a hit!
Zodiac grew increasingly frustrated and attempted to use sudoshi, but the man appeared right in front of him.
???: (Eating ice cream) What an interesting move you have there.
Zodiac quickly stepped back to where everyone else stood, shocked.
Daru: Okay, who are you? Start talking!
The individual dressed in black finished his ice cream.
???: I would cooperate if your friend over there would refrain from attacking me.
Daru: (Looks at Zodiac) Zodiac, leave him be.
Zodiac sheathed his katana.
Zodiac: Very well.
???: There we go.
Daru: Now start talking.
???: I'm here to inform you that today is the day.
Gram: Day? What day?
???: The tenth day. Don't you remember?
Kono: The tenth day? Wait, you're the guy who teleported us to a rooftop a few days ago!
???: Correct!
Ohma: (Confused) What? You guys ran into him before?
Himitsu: Yeah. He helped us get away from the paparazzi before we met you.
Ohma: Oh, I understand now.
Zodiac: Alright, it's the tenth day. Now what?
???: As I mentioned earlier, everything will be revealed. Now, please follow me.
The individual in black begins to walk away.
Gram: Can we even trust this guy?
Daru: Not yet, but if he wishes to show us something, we might as well see how it unfolds.
Zodiac: And if we can't trust him, we take him out.
Kono: Alright, let's just follow him.
Everyone begins to follow, making their way through the streets one by one. After a few minutes, he leads them to an abandoned warehouse.
???: This is the place.
Gram: Uhhh, why have we come to an abandoned warehouse?
Himitsu: I'm starting to feel nervous.
???: (Smiling) Relax, nothing will harm you. Come on, let's head inside.
The individual in black enters the warehouse, disappearing into the shadows.
Daru: Hmmm, something feels off. Be alert.
Gram: (Whining) Man, we can never catch a break!
Zodiac: Shut up and start walking.
Everyone proceeds into the warehouse, where the darkness makes visibility impossible.
Gram: I can't see!
Ohma: It's alright, Gram, I'll protect you!
Himitsu: Why do I get the feeling this is a trap?
Zodiac: Because it probably is, idiot.
As they continue walking, they enter a large room, and both Zodiac and Daru sense a presence.
Daru: Everyone, stop. I sense someone here.
Zodiac: Yeah, and it's not just one.
Gram begins to panic.
Gram: We're going to die!
A few moments later, the lights illuminate the space, revealing ten individuals in black seated on wooden crates.
Kono: What in the world!?
Himitsu: Who are these people!?
Ohma: I don't know, but remain alert!
Everyone assumes a fighting stance as a hooded figure steps forward, drawing a sword. The figure charges at Zodiac, who unsheathes his katana to meet the attack. The figure smiles at Zodiac.
???: So it looks like you haven't gotten soft after all.
Zodiac and Himitsu's expressions brighten as they recognize the voice.
Daru: What's going on here?
The figure lowers the hood, revealing Mizuda, now with shoulder-length hair.
Zodiac: It's, it's—
Himitsu: MIZUDA!!!
Himitsu rushes to Mizuda and embraces her, which she reciprocates, prompting Himitsu to shed tears.
Mizuda: Hey there, Himitsu!
Himitsu: (Crying) It's really you, Master Mizuda!
Zodiac stands in astonishment as Mizuda pulls him into a hug.
Mizuda: Oh, my sweet little Zodiac, how have you been?
Zodiac begins to tear up.
Zodiac: I missed you so much.
Mizuda laughs, also becoming emotional.
Mizuda: I missed you too, Zodiac.
