"AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"

She screamed.

And the mirror shattered into a thousand pieces.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Enix and Nki screamed louder than the woman, then they hugged each other tightly and started running towards the door as fast as they could.

They reached the door and started pulling it, but it wouldn't open no matter how hard they tried.

The woman slowly walked toward them, her movement like that of a paralyzed person, her eyes staring at them with a death glare.

"What on earth is that thing!!!" Nki screamed in panic.

"I don't know! She looks like a ghost and demon at the same time."

They tried opening the door again and again, but it wouldn't open, as if it was locked from outside.

The woman opened her mouth wide, blood dripping down like water. Then she started running towards them.

"AAAAAAAAAA!" Enix screamed in a high pitch like a girl, then he grabbed Nki's hand and started running to the right side.

Nki stared at him in disbelief and said, "What was that weird ass scream, darling?"

"It's not time for that! Just keep running," Enix replied in panic.

They kept running, took a sharp turn, and climbed up the stairs to the upper floor. The mansion slowly started getting dark and old, dust started falling from the ceiling, spider webs started appearing, everything started getting rotten around them, and the smell of rotten old meat hit their noses.

Nki's and Enix's eyes widened in shock and confusion. They held their noses and kept running.

"I think we lost her!" Nki said.

"Yahoooooo!" Enix screamed.

But then suddenly the room to their right exploded and broke into pieces. Their eyes widened as they saw that.

Then suddenly, from the mirror inside that room, the same woman jumped out straight towards them.

Their eyes widened in shock. Enix raised his hand and put it on Nki's head, bowing her head down and lowering his own. The woman went straight and crashed into the wall behind them.

They stood up quickly and again started running straight forward.

"Damn it! What did we get ourselves into!!!" Enix screamed, tears in his eyes.

"It's all your fault, darlingggg!!!!" Nki replied with a scream.

They ran and ran straight.

"How big is this mansion!!!!!" Enix screamed.

They heard the sounds of walls breaking and window glass shattering. Soon they saw a balcony coming.

"Nki, look! Over there!"

"Yes! We can escape from here!"

They ran at full speed toward the balcony, but as they got close to it, the whole floor started shaking violently. They started slipping down even though they were running up.

"What is going on!" Enix screamed.

Nki looked forward and saw the sky was moving... no.

The whole mansion was slowly levitating up and turning upside down in the sky.

"Damn it!" Nki screamed.

"Darling, grab something or we will fall back!" she screamed.

Enix looked around and saw a wire coming out from the wall. He quickly raised his hand and grabbed it tightly, their grip on each other's hands tightening.

Soon the whole mansion rotated, and now they were hanging. If they fell, they would crash into the ground from a terrifying height.

"What is happening!!!!" Enix screamed.

"Hang on, darling, don't let go!" Nki screamed.

"Like I will!!" Enix said while grabbing both the wire and Nki at the same time.

"Nki, I think you should start dieting," Enix said.

"Shut up! Or we both will fall down," Nki replied.

He used all his strength to maintain his grip. A door from almost the bottom of the mansion opened, and from inside that room, the same woman came out, walking on the wall like a spider.

"Ahhhhh that thing is here!" Enix screamed.

She slowly walked up towards them.

"What should we do! What should we do! What should we do!" Enix panicked.

Nki looked at her with fear, then suddenly she squeezed her cheeks and—

"Thu!"

She spat on the woman...

Enix looked at her in disbelief. The spit fell straight onto the woman's face, and she stopped.

"She stopped?!" Enix gasped.

Then they both started spitting on her again and again. The woman's nose, cheeks, and hair were covered in saliva.

Then suddenly she screamed loudly and dashed toward them at high speed.

"Ahhhhhhh it didn't work!!!!" Nki screamed.

The woman reached near Nki and raised her hand, but before she could touch her, a barrier with blue light appeared in front of her, with lightning-like movement, electric sounds, and blue light shining like twinkling stars.

The woman crashed into it and was sent flying back. Nki and Enix's eyes widened in shock and confusion.

"W—what was that?" Enix asked.

Nki was confused too, then she noticed it...

The red thread on her hair was glowing blue. She looked at it in confusion, then suddenly remembered...

In her childhood, her grandfather who worked at a shrine gave it to her, saying that it was a divine thread that would protect her from scary things.

As she remembered that, a smile appeared on her face and she spoke in her thoughts:

(Thank you, Grandpa! You really saved us!)

The woman, in anger, opened both arms and suddenly dark aura started covering her body. Her head rotated 90°, then she dashed toward them again.

"Shit, she's coming again!!" Enix screamed.

Nki stared at her with confidence, and the same blue barrier again stopped her and pushed her away.

A smile appeared on her face as she saw that.

"Woah, it stopped again! Looks like she can't enter this area!" Enix said.

The woman slowly started walking back and exited through the door.

"She's running away!!! We are saved!!!" Enix said with a happy voice.

But Nki was feeling that something wasn't right.

(What happened? Is she really running away? She cannot touch us since I have this divine thread—)

Then suddenly she remembered... her grandpa's words...

("It will save you from scary things.")

("You.....")

Her eyes widened, and she quickly looked up. Then she saw that woman standing above them, staring down at them with a death look.

Before she could say anything, the woman jumped down and dashed toward them.

"Darli—"

Before she could complete...

The woman opened her hands with sharp spike-like claws and... stabbed Enix directly in his heart...

Enix's eyes widened in shock and blood came out from his mouth... his hand lost grip on the wire...

But he didn't let go of her hand.

They started falling down at high speed. Nki's eyes widened, but in an instant, The Women appired between them.

She kicked Enix and threw him away, separating them.

"Darling!!!!" Nki screamed her heart out.

Before she could hit the ground, the blue barrier appeared again and saved her from the fall.

She opened her eyes instantly and saw Enix lying there on the ground. She quickly stood up and ran toward him, tears flowing down her face.

But before she could reach him, the woman appeared beside him and choked his neck, lifting him into the air.

Nki's eyes widened in horror. She screamed loud:

"Stop it!!!!!!!"

"If you come closer then I'll tear his head apart," the woman spoke with a high-pitched glitchy voice.

Nki stopped in place, her eyes wide in horror.

"Please don't! I beg you!" she pleaded.

The woman slowly pointed at Nki's head and said, "Throw that thing away or I'll tear his head apart."

Nki quickly took off the thread without hesitation and threw it away. The woman threw Enix aside.

Nki ran toward him and grabbed his shoulders, lifting him up.

"Hey hey, darling! Wake up!"

She started shaking him, but he didn't move.

"Please, darling, wake up..."

Then she saw the hole in his chest, and her eyes widened so much that blood started coming out of them. Then she remembered something Enix had said to her in the past...

("Nki, do you hear my heart... it beats for you...")

Her hands started shaking.

"No no no no..." she whispered, denying it.

Suddenly, the woman's large hand grabbed Nki and started pulling her up into the air and said,

"Ahhhh young girl's body! Good good, so good!"

Nki kept looking at Enix's body in shock. Then she slowly closed her eyes and whispered,

"Darling... I'm sorry."
