"That kind of Haki... is he even human?!"

Ashura Doji stared, stunned beyond words.

"Did he use Seastone?"

Ashura Doji was curious about what exactly Roy had used to suppress Kaido so thoroughly, forcing him out of the sky even while in Devil Fruit form.

Kaido, now in his human-dragon hybrid form, was howling in pain, tormented by the Conqueror's Haki.

"RRAGHHH!!!"

At the peak of his fury, Kaido unleashed his own Conqueror's Haki, violently expelling Roi's influence from his body. 

His scales regrew, and Kaido returned to his hybrid dragon form, maintaining a layer of Haki to prevent Roy's Haki from disrupting his Devil Fruit powers again.

"Such a monstrous Conqueror's Haki... To think it could suppress my abilities...". Kaido panted, eyes burning with anger.

"That's all you've got? You're not so impressive yourself," Roy said casually.

Kaido's wariness toward Roy deepened. Despite only having clashed a few times, Roy radiated an overwhelming sense of danger, even more so than Shanks.

Shanks' Haki was vast and overflowing, but Roy's?

Bottomless, an abyss with no limit

The only apparent weakness was his body, ordinary, human, aside from slightly enhanced cellular activity.

"I won't grant you a rude death. Slowly killing you will bring me a great sense of satisfaction." Kaido whipped his tail and lunged forward with his spiked kanabo.

Lightning cracked around him as he shot forward like a missile, the sky flashing purple from the electricity he carried. In an instant, he was right in front of Roy.

"Die!"

His kanabo, crackling with Conqueror's Haki, swung down like divine punishment.

"Airburst Repell"

Roy's Haki erupted like a tidal wave, making Kaido feel as if he had been submerged in seawater. His Devil Fruit power was weakened by half.

Half of Kaido's body remained in dragon hybrid form, while the other reverted to his human state.

"Airburst: Internal Destruction."

In that moment of disorientation, Roy struck Kaido's abdomen with an open palm.

GURK!

Kaido's body swelled like a balloon, just like what had happened to Big Mom before. He bloated rapidly.

BLARGH

A torrent of blood spewed from his mouth, soaking the ground beneath him.

BOOM!

Kaido's massive frame was sent flying, crashing into a distant mountain peak with a deafening explosion.

"Damn it, its still not enough, my body… It can't handle the full extent of my Haki."

Roy stared at his trembling hand. Even using Armament Haki to protect himself both in and out, his body had its limits. 

Against true monsters, the disparity in physical ability was undeniable.

His hands shook. He was more eager to make his body stronger somehow, to finally use the full extent of his Haki without restraint.

Otherwise, it'd be like having a treasure he couldn't even use properly.

Kaido's Fish-Fish Fruit would have been ideal.

CRACK

Boulders shattered as Kaido burst free, lightning cloaking his form as he charged again.

"Your body has a limit. I see it now, you can't last in a drawn-out battle," Kaido grinned wildly.

Ignoring his injuries, Kaido charged at Roy and swung his kanabo with all his might.

CRACK!

The ground trembled, fissures spreading. The Haki bursting from below knocked Roy into the air despite having dodged.

"I want to see exactly where your limit is!"

Kaido opened his mouth wide and aimed at Roy midair.

"Bolo Breath!"

Still in hybrid form, Kaido spewed a torrent of flames.

Faced with the inferno, Roy narrowed his eyes and blocked the flames with Haki. Then, in one smooth motion, he drew a pistol from his waist.

"He's using a gun?" Ashura Doji was baffled. What good would a pistol do against someone like Kaido?

As he puzzled over it, Roy pulled the trigger.

BANG!

Shots rang out, and bullets pierced through the flames and hit Kaido in the chest.

SPLURT!

Kaido clutched his chest, stiffening in place. The bullet passed clean through him.

After all, Kozuki Oden had fallen to Kaido's gun; firearms were still weapons, and deadly ones at that.

Clutching his chest, Kaido froze. Thankfully, the bullet had passed straight through.

BANG!

The gunshots rang out again, and this time Kaido was prepared, picking up his Kanabo with one hand and smashing it over.

CLANG!

Sparks flew from the impact, and the deflected bullet shot toward Ashura Doji's mountain.

BOOM!!

With a deafening explosion, the mountaintop shattered, and Ashura Doji tumbled down with the rubble.

"What the hell kind of bullet is that?!"

Ashura Doji finally realized, no wonder Kaido got pierced. The bullets were imbued with monstrous Haki.

BANG!

Another shot, another block by Kaido.

His body couldn't stop Roy's Conqueror-infused bullets at all; he had to use his weapon to block them.

When Roy's mags finally emptied, Kaido looked at his kanabo, now covered in cracks and about to shatter.

Hard to believe the body of this thing was forged from Seastone. And yet, it was on the verge of breaking.

"Don't worry. I've got plenty of Haki left." Roy calmly reloaded his gun.

"I won't give you the chance, Diamond Turnip!"

Kaido swung his kanabo, sending a massive, slashing shockwave toward Roy.

BANG!

Roy finished reloading and fired a single shot.

POP!

The bullet shattered the shockwave. The two attacks exploded midair.

Kaido rushed forward. He had figured out Roy's weakness, his body. If he pushed Roy's body to the limit, he could defeat him.

"Cyclic Thunder Drunk, Attracting Hell!"

Kaido entered a drunken state, his emotions chaotic and his power amped up.

He came crashing down from the sky, both hands gripping his kanabo. His Conqueror's Haki surged to its peak.

"This blow…"

Kaido glanced at his weapon. This was his final strike. Whether it worked or not, his kanabo Hassaikai would break.

He was using his strongest technique to try and crush Roy's Haki once and for all.

And yet Roy… was still calmly aiming his gun.

"You're looking down on me?!"

Kaido's fury erupted. Roy still pointing a gun at him. With a look of disdain… he'd only seen it before on the faces of the Celestial Dragons.

"Yes. I'm absolutely looking down on you." Roy slipped one hand into his pocket and lazily pulled the trigger.

"Atomic Bullet."
